honestly don't know why so many wanted parts of this song to be a breakdown fest. Its just not necessary for this song. the way Matt composed it is awesome and the mix is so tight. Met these guys in Portland at Warped Tour a handful of years back, and they're so nice. Took pictures, asked people how they were doing when we went up to their booth. Upon hearing that their original songs helped me through some depression (and still do, when it hits me too hard), Matt hugged me and told me that he was glad that I am alive. Of course, when he said "I'm glad you're here," I was like "Well, I'm glad to be here," like we were just talking about their set, but he reiterated and emphasized that he was glad that I'm alive. So am I.
The first one- sure- at first it sounds like it but then you hear subtle M at the end (maybe only if you are listening carefuly) but the 2nd isn't like that at all for me... Maybe for someone who isn't as familiar with english language as me it would be possible (I come across it almost as often as my 1st language so maybe here's the deal)
When IPrevail did this song it literally made them overnight sensations. They instantly started a tour and was in talks with many label heads. (I work for the magazine that did their very first video interview just moments before they went out on stage for their very first concert). So that can't be beaten. I see alot of people say iPrevail did it better. Here's the thing. iPrevail tore it up as a metal version. OLN did it different, more as a love ballad. When IPrevail did this song it literally made them overnight sensations. They instantly started a tour and was in talks with many label heads. (I work for the magazine that did their very first video interview just moments before they went out on stage for their very first concert). So that can't be beaten. I do love this band and I am patiently waiting for the hit that will do the same for them!!!

I think you should not compare them. I Prevail's is with Screams and OLN is not. So they are to different genres.

And btw they are the same genre cx they're both Post-Hardcore. They just chose to not include screaming in this song. And btw they don't have to be the same genre to compare them in the first place so you were wrong as soon as you opened your mouth.

I see alot of people say iPrevail did it better. Here's the thing. iPrevail tore it up as a metal version. OLN did it different, more as a love ballad. The best metal/rock bands always have a ballad, and as far as that is concerned, these guys tore this shit up. Most people expect screaming and head banging. Look at this song how they intended it to be, a rock ballad, and then those of you that are nay-sayers, can understand and appreciate just how good this really is. You want a metal version, iPrevail.
