Nautanki is one of the most popular folk performance forms of South Asia, particularly in northern India. Before the advent of Bollywood, Nautanki was the biggest entertainment medium in the villages and towns of northern India.
नौटंकी उत्तर भारत, पाकिस्तान और नेपाल के एक लोक नृत्य और नाटक शैली का नाम है। यह भारतीय उपमहाद्वीप में प्राचीनकाल से चली आ रही स्वांग परम्परा की वंशज है और इसका नाम मुल्तान की एक ऐतिहासिक 'नौटंकी' नामक राजकुमारी पर आधारित एक 'शहज़ादी नौटंकी' नाम के प्रसिद्ध नृत्य-नाटक पर पड़ा।
