Fishy Boopkins is TECHNICALLY a Mario character. His model is the same as a Spike, a semi-common enemy in the franchise. Bob is similarly based off a Gai ghost enemy in the Zelda series. His first video was even during Mario and Luigi adventuring through Hyrule.
I feel like this would be an episode where Mario realises what's been going on and tries to take control back, like if Bruce Banner was trying to hold back The Hulk
Personally, I would see them BOTH in pain. SMG4 Mario more physically because he is being pulled away because of "Ligma" Kong And Nintendo Mario Emotionally because he knows that if he does return, he would essentially KILL someone! And we know Mario, he's a (very literal) good guy!
