I came here from Paul's channel. I enjoy what you do just as I do with Paul's channel. I really enjoy almost all of what I call the Utah mafia's content. That's FabRats, Chad's Fab, MORR, Robby Layton, 89 Built, Sawdust & Lugnuts, TomTom's, Heck Ya and, in Arizona but connected to Utah, Merlin's Old School Garage. Partly for the content, partly because of the good morals and family-first attitudes. Keep up the good work! Edit: Have to answer your question. Yes and no. Some (way too many) channels on YT are basically a scam. Others start well, get a big following and lose their foundation, becoming too enamored of "bling", if you know what I mean. Then there are the channels I stay with (including yours). They are always genuine, honest and humble. Basically just solid people doing interesting things. So, continue doing what you do!
This was a COOL episode. I loved the family tree description. Love the randomness of your content! Keep it up. I do prefer the construction/build projects. Be them vehicle or structure.
Lol. Talking about not feeding your family with a shop and lift behind you and house rentals. Come on dude. Don't do it then. Seems like you'll be fine without it
That’s the reason I watch the channels I watch, is the randomness of their content. This is the exact same thing I commented on 89 Built channel, I enjoy the variety.
It was great seeing both Clayton & Hunter on your channel. I suspected Hunter would do something more on youtube. I love when you give outdoor tours and teach history and background. Love seeing Merlin come to town and drive all over showing the views and talking about childhood memories. I started watching your channel after seeing how giddy you get going on recoveries with Paul.🤣 It's a family thing, you all are great down to earth people, no fakery or put-ons, normal people, living life, loving family. I get guys are going to be most interested in automotive, but me I enjoy the scenery, people love pets and animals, family, feel good deeds that you guys are always doing.
@ Ok envision this 😜 Build series of the ULTIMATE off road Ranch Truck ( 78 ford custom cab body, 2000 dodge chassis, 98 12valve Cummins engine, 18 speed Eaton Fuller transmission, np205 divorced transfer case) broker collabs with all your UA-cam connections and watch the algorithm lovin’ it! ABR is providing the parts and funds Leme know where to drop off the pieces 😜⚓️
I’m fairly new to the UA-cam world, but I enjoy people being real so much of the stuff on here is staged meaning cut after cut to get it right, I’m into real life and that’s what Sean & I are doing 89 build. But your right it’s hard to do it alone on UA-cam plus we all need help at times, we’re willing to do what we can to help you and those around us succeed by us all lifting tougher. Can’t wait for the wrecker games. I like what you’re doing I like variety not the same thing over and over. So my suggestion is keep being you because the more people get to know you the better. Sorry for the long reply. Your friend shane
I really appreciate it! That’s the great thing about your channel, real people doing real cool stuff on a budget! Btw I just talk to Howard and we’re doing a Mexico fishing trip with you in April or may! That’s going to be a heck yeah time! Get your passport;) he said we’ll go even if you don’t have one!
I really like your videos. You tell it like it is and dont hold back. I also love our sense of humor. But most of all, your wholesome videos that really stand for family and not full of bad language.
My advice would be don’t overthink it. Make it authentic to what you enjoy! You need to connect with the viewers and most of the time that comes with them seeing you, your interactions with family, daily activities, and you being authentic. Some of my favorite videos that I watch are people building things. Literally all kinds of things it doesn’t have to be off road builds. I love to watch skilled people create with the talents they have blessed with. So show your kitchen builds and bathroom repairs. Keep it up, you are doing great.
I especially enjoyed Dads vs Wild! That was fun to watch! I look forward to seeing you do some youtube stuff with your kids! Thanks for giving us the low down on having a You Tube channel. It's the reality and you have to work hard to make it a go! You can do it!
I learned about your channel from FabRats…I subscribed and have stayed. I like what you do. I follow several different creators (off-road recovery, automotive, farming, woodworking) and enjoy them because they are “real” and family-oriented - I can’t get that from Hollywood. Just keep being you.
Ben, I enjoy the channel, what made me come check you out from fab rats was the bathroom build. You did some cool custom upgrades and that is what I was hoping to see here. My 2 cents do what you excel at if your the best at outdoor kitchens film that share your knowledge. I the channels I watch are centered around what that individual is really good at doing. Paul can lay dimes without even trying, Merlin can build engines in his sleep, Shawn like you said can build anything like his dad. Build your channel around what your good at and once it starts to grow throw in some misc stuff you like to do and your gold.
I watch your channel from time to time. I can’t say I totally love it because at times I feel like nothing is original, meaning that you created it without assistance from Paul, Matt, Hunter, Papa Dar, or Sean. However, you have something good: you are candid and honest, and I like it. Americans like it. Also, humility plays a big role too. We all got sick of those reality shows on the Discovery Channel quick. Americans are drawn to hardworking and down to earth people. I don’t know anything about monetizing UA-cam but I attended an Air Force Boot Camp and captured a video to share. In a matter of three days, it got more than 60k views (currently more than 100k). What this taught me is the power of people sharing because they were in the video. It wasn’t about me. It was about them. When people in the video see themselves, they are more likely to share the video with others. Like, I said, I could easily go to Lackland AFB and shoot a ten minute video and get thousands of views but I don’t know a thing about monetizing. My two cents.
@ in your videos, consider putting random people in them. These people will in turn will share the video. You have a great personality. Put your talent to use.
@ I’m not sure if you have noticed, but Matt has been very successful in working with hard working youth and lately, the B team has been rocking it, which we love. It shows how people come up with solutions to problems on the fly. I will be tuning in more often. Thanks for putting these videos together.
Love the show and would like to see more of what you have done and would like to see some outdoor kitchens. Love to see some outdoor fireplaces if you do those.
Hey Ben keep making videos. Ur doing alright man with ur viewers i promise u, u'll make it on this UA-cam adventure. It takes time to build a good channel. U do a lot in ur life and the hardest thing is, is to get ur channel out there. And to get people to watch it. Paul and Michelle as you already know because it's family have been doing this for a while it just doesn't happen over night. Just keep posting videos and let's see where ur at in 3 more years from now. I promise you u will be doing good if u keep up the good and hard work. 😊
I really appreciate the through the looking glass view of UA-cam and what it takes to be successful. Which I know it's tough but I honestly didn't know the sponsors are so few and far between.
It's not that you channels lesser than any of the folks you mentioned, just that you are an entirely different personality. Not a bad or a better person, just different approaches to it all. Hang in there, we'll get more used to the personality I'm seeing now.😊
I agree. I enjoy all the adventures. I watch for you and those around you's personality. Feels like people i would enjoy being around and projects i would enjoy doing.
I have watched every one of your videos, I have enjoyed them all. I am a person who has interests in many areas, if I ever get back up to Utah I’d love to visit!
The thing I like the most on your channel is the variety. I have enjoyed every video that you've done, no matter what you were doing. I also like how you keep it clean and friendly. I have canceled a lot of subscriptions over the past year due to bad language and bad attitude. I prefer channels like yours that feel like having a chat with a good friend. Keep doing what you do and eventually people will pick up on it. Blessing to you and yours.
We love all you content especially your out door adventures. But I would love to see more of your general contracting work. The work you did at fab rats was amazing. I dabble in work like that. And I already other channels on building projects. But what ever decide keep on keeping it real an genuine. Hope 2025 is even better for you and your family.
Ben I think you have extensive knowledge of the area you live in which happens to some of the most magnificent anywhere. I would love to see the places and people that you find interesting.
Great video. Interesting to hear the behind the scenes yt stuff. Guess I watch all the family's channels. I guess it's because I can go along and share the fun instead of watching TV. Good luck I know I do lots of things but am more interested in getting it done or enjoying the moment vs making a video and the editing.
I feel ya. I've been at it for almost 2 years. I'm monetized but not making a living by any means. I've done quite a few colab's and it's helped a lot. Defenitely got no return on my investments as you've pointed out. I enjoy your videos and I enjoy making the videos I make, that's what really matters to me. It's a LONG game and I believe eventually I'm going to hit it big. Keep on grinding man.
I like your content and the randomness. This does mean some videos are going to be "better" than others, but it gives you the freedom to do what you want and be as fun and creative as you want to. All that being said I liked both the revival of the international and the dads survival outdoors was really good too.
I really like the IH resurrection videos and would like to see the truck being used with updates on improvements you've made. I like videos with innovations that are simple that make me think " I could do that, why didn't I think of it? " Part of what I like to watch iswhen people share their knowledge with younger people. The garden would be a great video series from start to finnish if you include unique innovations and techniques that you have come up with or were passed down. The only videos that I felt were a waste of time is the multi day hike with limited supplies. It came acas a bunch of middle-aged "town kids "who couldn't tuff it out. Good luck, and I'll keep watching
Man you could not have said it any better. It’s pretty tough and an unreal amount of work for little to no monetary pay out. I realized a few months back that I had to do it for the fun of it and the pure enjoyment of the hobby. Been watching from day one doing great enjoy all the videos
Dido buddy! What it does is an excuse to do dumb stuff I normally wouldn’t do🤣 , you keep up the good work as well! I’d love to do a dirt bike collab, it would be awesome!
I came from Fab Rat’s channel. The last video of yours I watched is when you recovered the truck from the pond. My advice, make the videos for yourself, not for what you think others want to see. What you may not know is people will find things you think are boring or typical to be very interesting.
I learned of your channel from watching Fab Rats. I watch your content because you're a regular guy who would be fun to hang out with. I like your positive can-do attitude, and look forward to your new videos. I think your Bar 10 videos are good, and collaboration with Hunter would be fun to watch. Please keep making videos, your efforts are appreciated.
I think one key is to keep the content diverse. Do you have a link to the cabins you manage? We thought it was interesting that Michelle at Fabrats and Anchor Brand family were related. Thanks!
Your videos are awesome. I personally enjoy the variety of content. I too enjoyed "Dads vs. Wild" was great because my kids feel that I don't "have it" anymore. Keep it coming, Thank you
I got hooked with the episodes with Fab Rats. I am like you and have many interests so the contents you have shown have been very interesting to me. In other words, keep doing what you are doing. God bless and keep the content coming!!
The concept of finding your own viewers is critical. I followed you over here from Fabrats. I enjoy the varied content although I'm sure not everyone does. Good stuff!
I love your videos and I know it's a lot of $ work n time, I don't know how you can do it, I know that you pour your heart n soul into everything you do i love it!!✌️🇺🇲
I enjoy what you have shared with us since I saw you at Paul's place. Yes I will always think of you as the 'Dew Thief". I have been in construction for 35+ years so I relate to you. I have done everything that you do for work (maybe more as I worked in a hospital for 28 years in construction) I could tell some stories as I'm sure you could.
Heck Yeah... I am a follower. Do your thing, I think there was a movie line "If you build it, they will come" Keep the content coming. I like your varied content, revivals, adventures and even this. Thanks for sharing.
I enjoy all the things you have done to date, I’ve been in your area many times working and playing! I truly appreciate what you do I’ve had many health issues the last couple years and seeing yours and everyone you mentioned content has helped me cope with the day to day life! Please keep them coming I always have cold Mtn Dew on hand so if you’re in Hurricane it’s on me!
Mt Dew should be a sponsor! Just sayin... I love build videos, always fun, mostly watch em all. However, I love the idea of outdoor adventures. I'm a rock hound, so you could do a rock hound video if you knew any fun spots out there. Give me a good reason to come stay at your cabins :) I learned a lot about youtube expectations and experiences. Thanks for sharing the reality. Those that click through after 5 seconds, have terrible attention spans, you don't want their potential revenue anyway. Bunch of no good slackers... Also, thanks for sharing how everyone ties together over there. Always wondered about some of the relationships. Looking forward to what you have in 25 Cheers
I enjoyed all of the videos that I’ve seen , as a custom Boat carpenter I love any kind of fabrication . Yes I did come over to your channel because of Fab Rats but I’ve stayed
A colab with Ramzi would be great! He could use some help out there at ABR with some of his trucks and equipment that he needs to keep in good running condition.
Heck YEAH, great video for sure. Thanks for bringing so many pieces of the puzzles together. I think you should make outdoor kitchen content and what ever YOU love. I won't like every video you make, (like every You tuber I watch, yeah I'm weird) but you are real and that is what keeps me watching. Just my two cents but I bet you have an editor or two at your dinner table. Looking forward to 2025 content, until then have a HAPPY & SAFE Holiday season.
When interviewed about making it on youtube, one of my favorite tubers (VGG) put it very well. Be yourself, and make videos that YOU enjoy making. the fans will follow.
Lots of people don't know how to have an adventure or build something they dream of. Show us how you do it. I personally like the fabrication and repair side of things with outdoor experiences mixed in. Let your kids know they can help support the family by appearing in your videos or providing technical support. I'd recommend using mostly voice overs and cameos of the kids. Differences in generational perspectives are usually amusing. People love when daughters and sons critique their parent's actions and their priorities.
I think heck yea is appropriate. I did learn of you from fab rats.I enjoyed the bar 10 ranch and the runway repaving also when you took the young people to the slot canon or where I believe you called him Tarzan did the back flip also the grain bin rooms for rent I enjoy the variety
I don't watch every video, its usually motivated by the topic. Among other reasons I watch is because I know its clean, I know I can have it running when my kids walk in and I don't have to worry about turning it off. I'd like to see you build a greenhouse. I know there's little need for one in your area, but it would be interesting to see how you'd build one that is ready for the hot part of the year.
Its not our decision for content what draws people its what the content creator does naturally with his skills or whatever his or her joy is to do, likewise people will come, add some personality with it and it may be a hit
I don’t usually comment, but good luck! Keep it real, clean, and natural and my bet is you’ll make it big. I watch, because it’s clean entertainment when I’m too tired to be doing something else, and because I get sucked in too much like most people.
Love the name!!!! My opinion, do the content you are doing. Don't worry about what we want, do you be you and keep on being the Mountain Dew thief. Oh and make a shirt of you being the Mountain Dew thief. I think that would be awesome and cool. But just be you. That's what brought me to the channel.
cool video. just be you. a BBQ build would be cool. maybe a tour and a typical day at the cabins? you are very fortunate to be surrounded by great family and friends! keep it going!
Ben Ben Bennybob Ben…. You’re the man:) keep up the grind. 2 more years and you’ll be there ;) from what I hear ha. Make some more outdoor boys style adventures with some unique twist to it. Looks like Outdoor boys is going to be slowing down anyway so might be an opportunity to be the next one. Of course still capturing the mechanics, contractor, etc. stuff. You’re the man! Thanks for being a great friend and neighbor. Btw. I only watched 2 yt vids today. Outdoor Boys & Heck Yeah Adventures.
How about you combine the outdoors adventures with the automotive. Build series on a cheap overlander than a series on wheeling and camping adventures, should be plenty of content in between fixing broken stuff and adventure stuff.
How about B&M Garage??? Just be you. I enjoy most of what you put out. So now that makes sense that Grandma Lollie is a frost. Very cool. Happy Days from kiwi land
The downfall of UA-cam is AI documentaries and news. I think if it's more than 50% AI you should not get paid for it. You have good real content that you make yourself and that will always be superior. There's enough channels out there that do specific things. Please embrace your randomness. That's why I am here. You are honest and real and I enjoy the content. Heck yeah
I don't think the solution is to reduce the number of videos. I think you would turn up in the algorithms more with more videos. I've listened to many UA-camrs over the years and it seems putting out several videos a week is a way to get in front of more people. These are less than 15 minute videos. Every day I see dozens of channels pushed to me ... channels that I've not seen before. I don't click on them unless it is clearly a subject I'm interested in, or they have an interesting thumbnail. I'm sure not going to click on a 1-2 hour video unless I already like the creator. I'll watch a vehicle revival if it's one that interests me, but doing a revival just for content ... not so much! If the vehicle is something you've always wanted ... it's far more interesting than some old rust bucket that is just there. I think the route to success is to give them something they want and something no one else has! I can't say that there will ever be a day where I would build a rock-crawler, but I still watch them being built. A lot of the time ... I'm more interested in seeing the country they are driving through. This weekend I went through all my channels and made sure the notification was turned on. It appears UA-cam had turned a lot of them off. I often wonder when UA-camrs complain about losing viewers ... if that is really the case. I think it's more likely UA-cam has removed them.
I have not watched "regular" TV for years...All UA-cam. Film your daily life. Film what "you" like to do and what "you" want to film.
I came here from Paul's channel. I enjoy what you do just as I do with Paul's channel. I really enjoy almost all of what I call the Utah mafia's content. How about showing us the building of one of those incredible outdoor kitchens. I enjoyed the bathroom build at the fab rats shop.
I’ll do that!

Dido buddy! What it does is an excuse to do dumb stuff I normally wouldn’t do🤣 , you keep up the good work as well! I’d love to do a dirt bike collab, it would be awesome!
@ that would be fun say when
I came from Fab Rat’s channel.
Thanks for sharing! I have enjoyed watching your channel. I did come over from Paul’s channel. I like the change in content.
Keep it coming, Thank you
I love your dry sense of humour i will watch what ever you post
Absolutely great video
I got hooked with the episodes with Fab Rats. I am like you and have many interests so the contents you have shown have been very interesting to me. In other words, keep doing what you are doing. God bless and keep the content coming!!
Just keep doing what you do mate i would love to live in that part of the world you people just have a way about you love it
Awesome news on the Wrecker games! Keep doing what you do buddy, the subscribers will come!
Do you have tictok??
The concept of finding your own viewers is critical. I followed you over here from Fabrats. I enjoy the varied content although I'm sure not everyone does. Good stuff!
Enjoy your videos, the mixed content works just fine. Look forward to seeing what the revival vehicle is for the Wrecker Games.
I love your videos and I know it's a lot of $ work n time, I don't know how you can do it, I know that you pour your heart n soul into everything you do i love it!!✌️🇺🇲
Go after them people at the games with a build! A very good idea. I can only watch for you, I can't be there...
We’ll post it all!
Anything Utah I'll watch ... I love the state
I enjoy what you have shared with us since I saw you at Paul's place. Yes I will always think of you as the 'Dew Thief". I have been in construction for 35+ years so I relate to you. I have done everything that you do for work (maybe more as I worked in a hospital for 28 years in construction) I could tell some stories as I'm sure you could.
Thanks a ton!
Heck Yeah... I am a follower. Do your thing, I think there was a movie line "If you build it, they will come" Keep the content coming. I like your varied content, revivals, adventures and even this. Thanks for sharing.
More content like the bathroom biuld, outdoor kitchens the cabins
Always enjoy your content. Keep up the good work!
I appreciate that!
I came from FabRats. Really enjoy the variety on your channel and would love to get out to Utah one day.
Good luck!
Mt Dew should be a sponsor! Just sayin...
I love build videos, always fun, mostly watch em all. However, I love the idea of outdoor adventures. I'm a rock hound, so you could do a rock hound video if you knew any fun spots out there. Give me a good reason to come stay at your cabins :)
I learned a lot about youtube expectations and experiences. Thanks for sharing the reality. Those that click through after 5 seconds, have terrible attention spans, you don't want their potential revenue anyway. Bunch of no good slackers...
Also, thanks for sharing how everyone ties together over there. Always wondered about some of the relationships.
Looking forward to what you have in 25
Cheers
Thanks for the insight!
I enjoyed all of the videos that I’ve seen , as a custom Boat carpenter I love any kind of fabrication . Yes I did come over to your channel because of Fab Rats but I’ve stayed
Another great video keep them coming.
A colab with Ramzi would be great! He could use some help out there at ABR with some of his trucks and equipment that he needs to keep in good running condition.
I enjoy watching your videos they are interesting for me as I will be 84 on my next birthday and not only enjoy but it helps me pass the days time
Thanks so much!
Adventures!👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hunting video would be heck, yeah.
Done! I’ll be adding that
I really can't think of a video you did that I didn't like!!✌️🇺🇲
Thank you!
Heck yeah Ke.
Eper channel going
Heck YEAH, great video for sure. Thanks for bringing so many pieces of the puzzles together. I think you should make outdoor kitchen content and what ever YOU love. I won't like every video you make, (like every You tuber I watch, yeah I'm weird) but you are real and that is what keeps me watching. Just my two cents but I bet you have an editor or two at your dinner table. Looking forward to 2025 content, until then have a HAPPY & SAFE Holiday season.
I would like to see what you like to do so far I have enjoyed what you have done so far.
Great Videos thank you
When interviewed about making it on youtube, one of my favorite tubers (VGG) put it very well. Be yourself, and make videos that YOU enjoy making. the fans will follow.
Dang good advice, Derek has stayed true from day one!
All I can say is , heck yea.
I don’t usually comment, but good luck! Keep it real, clean, and natural and my bet is you’ll make it big. I watch, because it’s clean entertainment when I’m too tired to be doing something else, and because I get sucked in too much like most people.
Thanks so much
I came from fabrats . Before fabrats . Matt's off-road recovery. So you don't own bar 10 ?
Just one of the mangers when they need me
How about maintenance at the cabins or building houses
Love the name!!!! My opinion, do the content you are doing. Don't worry about what we want, do you be you and keep on being the Mountain Dew thief. Oh and make a shirt of you being the Mountain Dew thief. I think that would be awesome and cool. But just be you. That's what brought me to the channel.
cool video. just be you. a BBQ build would be cool. maybe a tour and a typical day at the cabins? you are very fortunate to be surrounded by great family and friends! keep it going!
Have liked the big verity of things that you have done an do
great as always
Ben Ben Bennybob Ben…. You’re the man:) keep up the grind. 2 more years and you’ll be there ;) from what I hear ha.
Make some more outdoor boys style adventures with some unique twist to it. Looks like Outdoor boys is going to be slowing down anyway so might be an opportunity to be the next one. Of course still capturing the mechanics, contractor, etc. stuff.
You’re the man! Thanks for being a great friend and neighbor.
Btw. I only watched 2 yt vids today. Outdoor Boys & Heck Yeah Adventures.
Thanks buddy, I appreciate it so much!
Keep doing what you're doing God has a plan for all of us
I love your videos. I feel, You Tube, needs to start paying you all more and stop playing games with the people that are their video source, AKA You!
I really appreciate that!
How about you combine the outdoors adventures with the automotive. Build series on a cheap overlander than a series on wheeling and camping adventures, should be plenty of content in between fixing broken stuff and adventure stuff.
You nailed it! I’m in the process of just that, you’re going to love the project I picked
Do more outdoors adventure video's around Utah . Yall live in a beautiful place and I love to watch video's of the scenery y'all have .
Next Sunday is exactly that , stay tuned
Show your tips on building homes
Why doesn’t fab rats go? Is there some behind the scenes beef or something ?
I hope they’re there, it’s going to be fun!
Restore your Impala
Working on getting parts
Keep up the good work, thanks for what you do!
👍👍
How about B&M Garage???
Just be you.
I enjoy most of what you put out.
So now that makes sense that Grandma Lollie is a frost.
Very cool.
Happy Days from kiwi land
The downfall of UA-cam is AI documentaries and news.
I think if it's more than 50% AI you should not get paid for it.
You have good real content that you make yourself and that will always be superior.
There's enough channels out there that do specific things.
Please embrace your randomness.
That's why I am here.
You are honest and real and I enjoy the content.
Heck yeah
100% agree
Plus I’m not smart enough to do AI🤣🤣
Did you do anything with them tanks you got from Paul??
They were my dads, I’m going to build a greenhouse with fish
Hey buddy I love the revival-survival videos, let’s collab on a few in the next year!!!
You know it! Thanks man
I don't think the solution is to reduce the number of videos.
This is great advice! I appreciate it
It’s simple more Papa Dar!! Would love to see what his world consist of.
