I am from Indian subcontinent that too far down below from the southern province. Wen I was a small kid probably in 1990 my uncle who arrived from England dropped Kraftwerk Man Machine cassette to our home. That time given the retro age, it was so alien music to me. But the very first moment I heard this music it simply impressed me and the music somehow greatly influenced my mind to connect to and gain expertise in mechanics and electronics. These musicians really crafted the robotic mechanical knack in my brain which I can boast of today.. Truly amazing and unique album far ahead of any hint of the competitors.

Excellent vinyl digitization! Krafttwerk and their Man-Machine is among my all-time favourite ...evergreen music...I must appreciate your selection of the track "The Model". The vocals so beautifully and softly melts with the synth..music.
The Model Timeless classic electropop. Will hopefully still be played in 100s of years. Especially the „bridge“ begin about 2:00 minutes.. Always worth listening to .. and the end (especially with your finger!)
Although my Grandma used to say "If you compliment that much a job well done, you end up ruining it!...", I'd like to thank you, "MrVinylObsessive", for the very good quality of the audio track in all your videos (192 or 224 kbits/s, maybe), and the very good resolution of the image, too. Please, go on doing your work like that. One can easily see that you're someone who loves a job well done.
Hello: Great double play, very clean and nice copy. It sounds great. Your picturing style fit so well for this real electronic music. very effective use of the blur, as usual, you are the Master "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth". but Krafwerk created the electronic pop music, the soundtrack of computers era Then rappers and DJ's came to the scenario. Kraftwerk become their favorite, and most stolen, victim!
+Comicdominicano Thanks, Raul! ;) Yes, most of their imitators are just entertainers, (nothing wrong with being an entertainer, of course) and their work doesn't have the same depth as Kraftwerk's music. But Kraftwerk influenced many other artists in a positive way, even those in different music genres. A casual listener may think that Kraftwerk's music is just a bunch of simple "bleeps" and "bloop" sounds made with an ancient computer. And i can imagine that many people in the 70's could think that this music was just a novelty made possible by the advances in electronic, but with no real musical substance. But in reality, after some careful listening, one comes to the conclusion that they made a series of conceptual albuns, and each one is like a wakeup call for a variety of social and philosophical issues, like the relation between man and his machines, and the way the man himself becomes almost a machine, or the dangers of nuclear power, as is the case of the Radioactivity album. Most of this thematics are still relevant today! And they achieved this with just minimalistic lyrics, "bleeps", "bloops",and syncopated rhythms! :O
+MrVinylObsessive You're right, great description of Kraftwerk. The perfect example of collection of "bleeps" and "bloops" is The Man-Machine song. after reprise the tune two or three times, the "secret message", behind computers sounds, rises to the top! This is a great concept album! :)
raise a glass to florian schneider, founder and creative force behind kraftwerk, who died in may 2020 (from cancer, not the 'rona). also the versions with the german lyrics are superior. the whole thing just flows better.
The Model She's a model and she's looking good I'd like to take her home, that's understood She plays hard to get, she smiles from time to time It only takes a camera to change her mind She's going out tonight, loves drinking just champagne And she has been checking nearly all the men She's playing her game, and you can hear them say She is looking good, for beauty we will pay She's posing for consumer products now and then For every camera, she gives the best she can I saw her on the cover of a magazine Now she's a big success, I want to meet her again Read more: Kraftwerk - Das Modell / The Model Lyrics | MetroLyrics
Mmm...I would like to have something from Kraftwerk. I have several records from some of their "imitators" but I think it's time for me to get some LP from these guys ;) Very nice video Rui :) The only thing is...I can't see the Achromat! :O
+HiFisquarepants Of course you can see the Achromat! You can see the edge of the little bugger right there on the opening scene. It's the model specifically made for the Technics 1200. It has an undercut on the edge to overcome the problem of the machined lip of some aluminium platters like the Technics. My platter is not an exact clone of the Technics, but it's very, very close on most measurements. By the way, on this video i'm also using the tiny Pro-ject Tube Box S. Considerably warmer than the Cambridge. Kraftwerk is not for every tastes! Some people just can't stand the minimalistic style and the repetitive electronic sounds. It's an aquired taste, but once you let their music get into you, it will stay with you! ;)
+MrVinylObsessive Yes, I can see the edge of a mat :P When I said "see" I meant it in a more specific way, i.e, the way I showed it in some of my old videos (They Dance Alone, for example). One of my Achromats is also the 1200 model :) I dunno why but I thought the Pro-Ject would be brighter than the Cambridge...I like my Tube Box DS but sometimes I wish it would be a little warmer. The stock tubes are OK, but I replaced them with a pair of NOS Sylvania (black plates, 3 mica) and the sound gained a bit of body and the overall image became more organic. Anyway the stock tubes are more than good! I liked Kraftwerk from min 1 :) Do you know Azul y Negro? They were one of the first electronic music bands in Spain. I have several records from them. I wish I had more time to make a quick video with one of their songs...This is a task for HiFispongebob :P
+HiFisquarepants Ah Ah, I thought you were confusing my Achromat with some regular thick mat. Nope, no clear view of the mat on this video. Maybe on a future video with an intro before the music, i dunno. You thought the Cambridge has a warmer sound than the Pro-ject? It's funny, but i never felt its sound that way, quite the oposite. The Cambridge has a leaner sound comparing with the Pro-ject, and with an emphasis on the highs, especially with the audio-technicas. The bass is focused, but it stays on its place, and never invades the mids. In the end, much depends on the record of course, but i like both, and both have their virtues and their flaws, but at the moment i prefer the Pro-ject. I wouldn't categorize your Pro-ject sound as warm, but it has a sweet quality that i enjoy very much. I would just add some slightly stronger bass to its sound. But now i'm just being nitpicking! I'm not ready yet to spend huge amounts of money on NOS tubes, so I'm trying some new production Telefunken Black Diamond tubes. (not on this video) A bit colder than the stock tubes. Never heard Azul y Negro, but i will right away. Your notification just arrived!
My wave editor says that this has 0,6 dB of clipping. Not much but still I thought you would like to know. So the recording volume might just need to be turned a little bit down. Thank you for posting. Nice that vinyl is still going strong.
Thanks man! Actually, my original 96K/24b Wav file touches the 0db mark occasionally during the last minute or two of Man Machine, but never surpassed 0db. But it's true that the AAC audio from youtube is clipping a bit on the same track. I've heard that youtube makes some kind of volume leveling besides the usual conversion of the original audio to AAC. It seems that the purpose of this is to keep the volume level more consistent across different videos. Not sure about the veracity of this, but take a look at this video: ua-cam.com/video/l0ifo0VZyyI/v-deo.html Sometimes i like to record it "hot", meaning very close to 0db, but on my last videos i'm being slightly more conservative to avoid accidents, and to let the dynamics "breathe" a bit more.
I have this 2009 reissue, as well as a few other Kraftwerk reissues and original pressings and they all sound fantastic in their own way. I listen to the reissues more, although I'm not exactly sure why.
Allthough i like vinyl a lot when it comes to 60....80's music, with Kraftwerk i would allways go all digital. It's pretty rare to still have a 1970's band around singing live and recording in new digital formats.Their music is made on synths...Just see their full digital versions on the same youtube channels and you'll see that there's no plus with the vinyl rip.
Gopo First, This is a rip of a 2009 reissue, which was not remastered in analog. While Kraftwerk were early adopters of digital recording, their early work was made on analog synthesizers and recorded in analog. That is why the original pressings are so prized and expensive. Yes, you can get a cleaner sound floor on vinyl, but you lose something of the analog synth groove in a digitally remastered version whether on vinyl or in digital format.
@@ivermec-tin666 Absolutely! Analog is FAR superior to digital because a MACHINE can only sample so many bits of sound per second (16 to be exact - at least as of 1988 - may have increased slightly since then). Therefore, you get a cropped version of the actual sounds which put out harmonics above the notes you hear. That's why vinyl is SO much better sounding .. you get the "full bouquet".
I bought this vinyl just last week its the limited edition red vinyl love kraftwerk alot in January i wanna buy the techno pop vinyl its also the limited edition silver vinyl
+Luca Simoncini Usually i don't like remasterings but this one sounds ok, strong bass and clean, dynamic sound overall. I think it suits the music in this case. Radio-Activity is ok too!

i think the german sang version is better :)
Listening to this music made me go back in time when I was 6-7 years old.
Hard to believe this album is almost 40 years old...
This video feels like a gourmet experience.
Kraftwerk was around in the late 60s pioneer in electronic music. Head of there times
Wow wow wow.....loved it..haven't heard such quality yet on UA-cam.

They're lyrics are mainly social related. Listening to 1977 "Trans Europe Express" tracks and looking at present Europe is a good example.
Old is gold
Kraftwerk on vinyl is only option..and this is older then 40 years..so ahead it's time, unbeliveable

The Model
She's a model and she's looking good
I'd like to take her home, that's understood
She plays hard to get, she smiles from time to time
It only takes a camera to change her mind
She's going out tonight, loves drinking just champagne
And she has been checking nearly all the men
She's playing her game, and you can hear them say
She is looking good, for beauty we will pay
She's posing for consumer products now and then
For every camera, she gives the best she can
I saw her on the cover of a magazine
Now she's a big success, I want to meet her again
