Just got a 2006 Yamaha Stryker 1300 a few months ago and Yamaha does it right. Congrats ! I was shaking with fear every time I went for a ride until I became excited to go. I get it !!!
@@DonsGarage01 Thanks Don. Yeah, I've been practicing my skills on my Honda Elite 250 scooter, and now when I get on the Stryker it is so easy to ride. I'm a 25 year re-entry rider. Haven't ridden since Bill Clinton was in office. I'm 55 and loving it !
i know your anxiety very well. i went over 20 years without riding a motorcycle, my last bike was a honda 750 shadow now where near as big as your bike. I then bough myself a midnight star 1600 and it was like relearning how to drive a motorcycle, it felt huge and so heavy and so powerful. Im used to it now and can ride it easy but i remember the day i drove it home and how scared i was. Great vid man, and nice bike
I went from a 250 ninja to an old 83 bmw touring bike than to a 07 roadstar. First time I cracked open the throttle I almost got blown off the bike. I’m an extremely light rider so at first I was having a hard time holding on. I have since added a fairing which changed the way the wind hits me so it smoothed out the acceleration. Still pulls like a champ. And after putting over 20k on it I still react like this when I crack open the throttle. It’s such an adrenaline rush ripping through the gears on these bikes. I feel first gear is way too short but I understand why it’s geared that way. Love these bikes.
I JUST got a 2003 Roadstar with only 9,280 miles on it today!! It is a VERY big bike but also I feel like I sit up on it a lot more. I love the acceleration it has too, I can't wait to get many many years out of it
@@DonsGarage01I am assuming there is something wrong with it that I don't know about. The guy said it was his late father's (I believe him because he was getting emotional selling it but understandable) and he was only asking $1,900 USD for it and according to what I see it is blue booked at $4,840 so.... But I was also told by a buddy that they all have a factory recall to get a new transmission and possibly a top end rebuild? I am going to call about that tomorrow because if I just got a 21 year old bike with 9,280 miles AND get a new transmission and top end rebuild I am SUPER happy with that!!!
Vstar1100 was my first, 6 months in was wishing i went bigger especially when wife wants to take a cruise... I commute with it and its actually plenty powerful, mentally my mind says it wants more...
I always loved roadstar back so many years ago the dealer I was at had one but also had Stryker and man went with Stryker. I now own a Raider as I traded Stryker in but roadstar is sweet ride. What sucks is Yamaha stop making big nice cruisers roadster Stryker raider roadliner n stratoliner ughhh oh well.
I just started riding, 2023 zx6r. I haven't had the chance to ride anything else. It feels weird when I sit on a curser at the dealership.. Although, I always thought I'd get a shadow for my first bike.. Loving the 636.
And if you let it sit, like over winter, drain the carbs. Easiest method, turn off the fuel valve and let the bike idle until it dies. And now and then (like once a year or so) put some fuel system cleaner additive into your fuel to get rid of any ethanol gunk that may have been building up into the carb. And always use fuel with the least amount of ethanol. Completely ethanol free would be ideal but may not be sensible for most people. But as long as you prevent from ethanol fuel from evaporating and leaving behind too much gunk into your carbs, it will be fine for years.
Get yourself on a Triumph Rocket 2,300cc triple - nearly twice the power and torque of the Yamaha and with cruiser style too. The way that shifts from 70-110mph in the blink of an eye.
Wasalam my brother - oh man….. it’s so nice Alhamdulillah. No complaints. Very relaxing ride. It makes a lot of engine noise though, so be prepared for that 😂 but that’s normal with these Road Stars. I need to post more videos on this.
@@KingIbanazzi so long as you’re smooth and calm with that throttle, you’ll be fine InshaAllah. Also, it’s heavy haha so at red lights & small turning maneuvers, it may need more caution.
Man I love your excitement and energy myguy I’m getting one next week now I really can’t wait
I'm so excited for you brotha!! ❤
@@DonsGarage01 Me too !!!! Nothing like getting a new bike that excites you.

Yo that’s awesome. Now I want one too.
You won't regret it
Is this your 1st bike? I have a VStar 650 for years, looking at a roadstar now, a little concerned about jumping from a 650 to a 1700.
i started on a sv650. ride a 03 road star now. it’s definitely a lot more bike, weight being the biggest thing for me, but nothing super crazy.

I got n June 99 road star love it it's red and white
Incredible color combo! Congrats! You picked up a good one!
My neighbor is selling his. It's 2005 with 14k miles on it. How much should I offer him?
These things go cheap, check the market around you. Those are very less miles and a good year, not carbureted (i believe, pls re-check that part)
Yamaha is tough to beat! I’m picking up a 2007 warrior 1700 tomorrow.
How is it?!

Yes!!! But I need to jumpstart the battery lol. It randomly died.
How often do the carbs need work?
really never if you dont let it sit. I run non ethanol

This kid better not ever buy a Harley or he'll probably drive off the road. 😅
Hell you talking about hahahaha
He'd probably drive off the road on a Rebel 250.
lol
to much " oh my God"
Never enough remembrance of God, my brotha!
If its anything like mine it will break down before you make it to the corner
You can't be that excited get a Harley
So he can be excited about it being in the repair shop?
