Nice, loved my reggae since my mum brought me a bob marley ' no woman no cry' from Paris in the mid 70's. Still love reggae & dub,Northern soul & funk. Remember Barracuda sound system preamps advertised in the 'Black Echoes' then changed to the Echoes music mag. Been checking out the Valvatron amps, realised we've got the same surname. Hopefully will get in touch soon. 🎶🇯🇲🇬🇧🇯🇲🎶🎯
18.48 Thats my actual valve phono pre amp, the one with the scratch! This proper piece of Valvatron sound gear purchased from Paul is an asset to my system. Sent to me in Western Australia packed in a very well made wooden box which I have kept. Pauls reminiscing reminds me of my own start in going to reggae dances in London around 74 and being approached to start up a sound with a great crew of small town country boys in about 78. Back then money was hard to find, no credit, getting sound equipment made was expensive, no internet for instant knowledge, but great times were had. I remain addicted to bass and the golden era of Jamaican tunes, all those harmony groups etc.
there is something quite magical about ,engineers who are from any were around the country that's not just down here in London. I got hold of a sugden amp and my life changed over night, hearing a true quality built product British made too.
