- Hey it's been a minute. Or two. Or several. But hey, we're back and stuff is in the works. Today we have a custom model spot featuring a traditional take of the new wooden railway Percy by @TheSodorCaterpillar. Can't wait to use him in videos! The new model won't be in my next episode (which will feature some heroes on a half shell) but moving forward this should be our new Percy.
@StevenGarcia118 coincidentally made the same custom for me as a gift, so that means that Percy has a stunt double (which might be necessary taking the events of Season 5 into account)

I feel that too. It’s hard to explain, but it just fills me with this sentiment that when I get older, I will be stronger. In fact, they might even call me freedom. Just like a waving flag.

TheSodorCaterpillar, your skillset harkens back to the painting of the Sistine Chapel ceiling by the great Michelangelo. I mean that in terms of the skill and dexterity demonstrated in the removal of Percy’s face and wheels. There is no implication that this project required you to paint naked people all over the ceiling of a church.
By the way, great custom.

Yes they do! They have that retro charm that some of the newer faces just don’t have
When it comes to custom Percy models in terms of 2022 TWR there's definitely a lot of them. Unlike the other ones I've seen this one's pretty good and caterpillar did a good job. And of course I love seeing all the other customs throughout this video Matt keep up the good work!
This is a prefectly proportioned Percy, no doubt about it. Caterpillar did a fantastic job.
It's so simple, and it works because of that simplicity.

The only engines in the new Wooden Railway designs I dont like have been James, Emily and Nia because of how their driving wheels are stuck to the chassis of their front and back bogey wheels.
TheSodorCaterpillar really did a good job on his custom wooden railway percy, adding the ertl face on percy was a really nice touch, and having his old wheels are makes the custom even more accurate to both Tv and RWS. :)
The wooden railway 2022 Percy looks amazing. I love the proportions, and I like the shock expression. The sodor Caterpillar did a really great job with these changes, giving him the old style wheels and even a face from his Ertl model.

Wow. That really helps a lot. Giving the engines different expressions doesn't really feel right. The ERTL face looks great on him.

caterpillar’s custom is so exceptional that the humans on Sodor had to eat dozens of mushrooms in order to prevent the eternal reign of one green controller.
At first, I thought Percy's face was handcrafted. I would have never thought is was an ERTL Percy face. Fits like a glove on the Wooden Railway redesign.
It's much better than the crap Mattel makes, he actually looks like Percy.

Percy looks like a little baby with that face.
As usual, the fans outdo the official company when it comes to anything having to do with Thomas. Mattel hasn't done anything really useful with the Thomas Wooden Railway line since they re-introduced it two years ago. If I were running the line in early 2023, new models of Duck, Donald, Douglas, Oliver, and Toad released by then. And to think I bought the 2022 Wooden Railway Percy model for its surprised facial expression, considering that was perfect for episodes like Percy Takes the Plunge and A Scarf For Percy. Right now my hope is for Orbrium to acquire the Thomas license, hence why I've started a petition to make that happen. It has 80 signatures as of this writing, and a link to it is in my Wooden Railway Discussion of Orbrium's Track Maintenance Crew.

This is running gag that me and the Sodor Caterpillar have, but I really appreciate his work. 3D modellers are talented people I’d love to work with more. Perhaps we could team on something someday?

It's certainly a more realistic taste. Thomas is bigger than Percy. He has been for so long!
