I was introduced to Fr Gobbi's Blue Book in 1993. I started reading an entry or two daily in 2023 and it has so enriched my understanding of all that is unfolding. I just happen to be finishing up a read thru of the New Testament and in the middle of the seals being opened in The Apocalypse. The beginning of Gobbi's 1983 entries is titled Extraordinary Holy Year of the Redemption. This was called for by JPII to commemorate the 1950th year of the Redemption. We are 9 years away from the 2000th!
No we are not 9 years away. Why? Because Jesus was not born on AD 0. The dating is off by 3 to 6 years. I can't remember now which. But let's say it is 3 years prior. So Jesus would be born on 3 BC, and dead at age 33 in 30 AD. So we would 5.5 years away or 2.5 years since if we use 6 BC as the birth date, then 33 - 6 = 27.

But he is still the Pope. He may be a bade Pope or even a terrible Pope - and there have been terrible popes in the history of the Church. But he is the Pope until he is replaced by the Cardinals or if the next Pope condemns him as an anti-pope.
