I’m so jealous you were able to have that experience, especially driving the simulation and operating the actual controls. Wish I done the camp but couldn’t afford it.
That's pretty awesome. I compare this schooling to pilot school, and it just seems so much better becoming a conductor than it does trying to be a pilot nowadays. To become a pilot you need years of training, by the end you'll have 6 figures in loans and you start out at almost minimum wage; comparatively to a conductor the schooling is free and you get paid for it, it's very very short and afterwards you earn a middle class income right out of the gate (not to mention not needing to worry about 3 dimensions), it's just a financial no brainer if you can get in.
Hi how long do you have to wait for a interview after the online assessment, mentioned in the other video does getting the online test guaranteed a high chance of a interview
MeeperMcFive If you're a railfan and between 14 and 18 years old, it is heaven. It is hosted by the NRHS and sponsored primarily by Amtrak. There are 2 camps, both of which I've been to. The first, RailCamp Northwest is based in Tacoma, WA and you visit places such as Seattle's King Street Station and Amtrak facility, Northwest Railroad Museum, and Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad. The second is this one, RailCamp East. I won't reveal anything about it as Zeffers716 will do so as more videos are released. As a matter of fact, he and I went to both the same RailCamp Northwest and East sessions.
Seeing this video and knowing that i have a strong possibility of going to railcamp just makes me smile and exicted even more!
