I don’t understand the reason for creating this fund when the basic requirement is the govt should have EXCESS fund which probably will never happen in our lifetime due to corruption, plus the fact that this government DOES NOT HAVE THE CONFIDENCE , CREDIBILITY and COMPETENCE to manage this kind of undertaking.

Filipinos should learn from what happened to Phil Health Fund, it was stolen from them by unscrupulous government officials and private hospitals. The same modus seems destined on the proposed Maharlka Wealth Fund at the expense of government and private employees who depend solely on their retirement pensions.
Philhealth fund was collected from the employees of public and private entity, I remember during the Arroyo administration they did to distribute philhealth card to those who did not even pay their monthly contributions or somewhat paying a meager amount compared to us until such time now, but the Institution did not even consult us as member paying 300 monthly contribution.
This Maharlika Wealth Fund is so scary knowing how the climate of corruption is so severe and rampant in our government!!

The operative word is “excess” funds. WE DONT HAVE THAT
Basic po ng Financial Managment di ba? You invest extra funds. While you have loans or in debt, make a plan to pay it and find sources of income. When the loan is being paid because of new income streams, you can slowly save again. Save for your emergency funds. When you are more than halfway thru, and the income streams strengthen, you can then open up another savings for your security. Then when debt is gone, then you can start investing. Grabe eh, lahat po tayo niloloko eh.

Please, please, don't touch the fund, which came from lifetime contribution from workers since 1975. This is not a public fund, it is a privately owned fund solely owned by members. Government putting their fingers into this private fund is nothing less than KLEPTOCRACY once again!

I oppose this bill. At any rate, what's the basis in identifying the fund source? Why being selective? Why not include the PNP and AFP retirement funds also ---they have different one, I think.

Dito po sa New Zealand, ang aming pinaka SSS (called kiwisaver) can also be invested in an investment scheme, but individually, member has the right to choose to join or not to join. Hindi pwersahan at hindi pangkalahatan. Sa Maharlika it is like forcefully joining the funds of all members whether they like it or not, since sss or gsis is being funded by people's contributions.
