    ❤ Deb and I vote for cedar in the breezeway. Shoes, boots, outdoor smoke smelled clothing that are housed in there, will benefit from the smell of cedar. And BUGS will stay out as well. ❤

    One suggestion would be to put some type of fire alarm system in place. The fact that your daughter will be above the garage is really important. With todays cars and other electronic equipment there is always a chance that a fire could happen. Also maybe get a plan for a fire escape for the addition, and the main house. I would also think about getting carbon monoxide detectors in garage area as cars could be a danger if left running. I know this sounds dumb but any thought of a retention pond close by in case of fire. Water would be helpful for fire deptment. Sorry not to be critical but one of my neighbors had a barn fire and water had to be brought in and building burned to the ground. Anyway great videos and you and your family are great examples of proud Americans.

    For the breezeway I say shiplap walls with hooks for coats and a shelf above for winter hats, and the bench to cover the pipes, but also for sitting on to take off your boots. ❤
    As far as the little things you are going back to do, I’ve been trying to teach my daughter that sometimes you don’t finish a task at school before the teacher tells you to move on to something else. She has a difficult time with that. I told her that when she grows up, her boss may tell her to stop on one thing and jump onto another task really quickly and she is going to have to be okay with that. Her boss and teacher can see the big picture, even though she can’t, and she has to trust that it’s the right thing to do. Sometimes we think we have life all planned out, and God throws us curve balls, and makes us go into a different direction, but if we fight Him to do our will, we may mess up His plans because we can’t see the big picture. We need to trust and understand that sometimes we don’t have all the answers and a little faith could bring us to amazing blessings. Look at all that you’ve built on just a leap of faith! Thank you for always being a good example to us and also sharing your journey with us, and I hope that the wasps go away soon! 😅 Love you all! 😊❤

    Please remember not to warm the cars up while inside of the garage because Navayas apartment up stairs always pull vehicles out side the garage and then allow them to warm up to avoid gas poisoning monoxide poisoning

      No it would not be safe to warm up cars inside because the smoke from the exhaust will fill up the garage and we all know that smoke rises meaning it will fill up the apartment up stairs

    Here's an idea for the breezeway, how about a small part of it you put in a chalkboard. You know you could write little messages of encouragements to each other! Idk just a thought. Then you could do the cedar planks on the rest of it.

    To kill the hornets.
    Use Dawn dish soap and water..
    I’ll take a spray bottle ( get the good spray bottles) and fill it quarter way with Dawn rest of water mix it and spray them and I just fall off the nest !!!
    And if you have ticks …
    Use hose sprayer , fill bottle with Dawn and spray your yard !!!
    I spray it on thick.

    • @MrMERCER10
      @MrMERCER10 2 місяці тому +3

      Well... those are hornets. I'd get a "Super Soaker" to IMMEDIATELY saturate the nest. Spray bottles work but are slow like one shot at a time. Super Soakers are more like Buckshot PLUS they give YOU more distance from the nest before firing.
      Once this is done put SCENTED DRYER SHEETS in areas you don't want bee's, wasps or hornets to build a nest. For some reason, they HATE this.

    • @LiberLady
      @LiberLady 2 місяці тому +5

      I also put 1 cup of vinegar, one squirt of the dish soap and the rest with water in the spray bottle. This spray kills on contact, safe for the environment! I used this outside of our restaurant when the wasps got aggressive. (They were all over the front of cars eating the dead bug carcasses off the fronts or trying to nest in the side-view mirrors, too!

Takes a little time to put things away when mostly done and feels so good to see all the empty space for awhile. You folks are great . Hope you can get rid of those Colonies of Hornets, they are bad news and need to be disposed of. Stay safe and keep up the great videos. Oh , Cedar in the entry way. Good bug deterrent. Fred.

    Hey guys!!! Give sticky traps a try for the wasps. They get trapped, then release a pheromone (has to google the spelling 😂) and then the rest come to the “rescue” and also get trapped.
    Last week I placed a sticky trap near a ground nest and captured hundreds until there was no room left. The following morning when they wetwnt active I filled up the nest with cheap wasp spray and that eliminated 100% of the nest. We went from probably 500-1000 swarming wasps to zero. Hope that helps.

No running water, no electricity, wood cookstove, outhouse. They raised six kids, all homeschooled and figured out power, plumbing, still grow their own food, meat, and also started a thriving honey business. I learned how to make cheese there, jams and jellies, and the joys of independent living. I love the memories and enthusiasm and close knit family feelings you evoke. Thank you so much.

    Hello again my loving Idaho family ♥️!! Sorry to see you’re still dealing with the 🐝 again this week (ouch Melissa!! That’s a bad area to get stung😖)! I think this is the worst we’ve had them in many years for Ky too. It’s good to see you checking off so many things on your to do list (perfect exterior door color btw😉). That range hood looks like it was planned perfectly to be like it is!! Although the bees are swarming now winter time is closer than we think. Your winters there are far worse than here in the mountains and hollers of Ky. Before long we will be in full swing for the pediatric cancer toy drive and just like that the new year will arrive. I pray your days are long enough to accomplish your goals before the weather is the deciding factor. I carry each of you very dear to my heart and ALWAYS in my prayers🙏🏻♥️🙏🏻…. Until next week ♥️

    I kept a piece of my siding and take it to Home Depot and they scan it and match it perfectly.

    My God Mellisa , your videos are so beautiful, with the specific songs, what you say at the end of them, tugs at the heart strings most of the time, in a good way. For example, some make me laugh because of you and Jeremy's humor, some make you cry, especially the one with Kenji passing, 😢that one was hard. Some make you feel happy for the family. Etc, The memories you are creating are priceless, your kids and grandkids will enjoy watching tremendously.

    White panels or shiplap in the breezeway so that its bright in there. I love the mural idea too!

    Every once in a while I stop and acknowledge how impressive your video production is. You must spend a lot of time - or have just gotten so fast it over the years, but it is truly top-notch.

    There is nothing more gratifying than building your own home. It's perfect! P.S. Shoe Rack. I have a bet to collect.

    I think the cedar would be nice. I also think it would be so cute to add picture of Nevaeh as she has grown, baby starting at your side and 18 end at the stair entrance . Not every year but every three years. Maybe even start up high so that you can add Kamani’s underneath and so on.

    A bunch of the siding on the house was done in inclimate weather; maybe not pleasant but possible. Painting can't be done in inclimate weather. Unfortunately, when you're working outside you have to adjust your schedule to the weather. It is definitely a homesteading thing.

    My husband and I watch together every Saturday morning. My only complaint is I wish the videos were longer and more often. Just love this family and their love for one another.
