- What if the very thing that challenges us the most, is the exact thing that God uses to speak to our heart? Few people choose to embrace pain and many of us choose to avoid it altogether. Experiencing pain is difficult, however, when we try to avoid it, we can miss out on what God is trying to do through us.
Finishing the collection of talks “Hearing God’s Voice,” Pastor Rich Wilkerson Jr. encourages us in a message titled “Don’t Waste Your Pain.”
God speaks to us even through obstacles and as C.S. Lewis says, “God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our consciences, but shouts in our pains. It is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world.”
What exactly is God shouting to us when we are going through pain? God intends to purify our priorities, challenge our capacity, and expand our empathy.
As we change our perspective on the trials in our life we are able to discover joy. Rather than just going through it, we can grow through it and allow God to walk with us.
I am so happy to find this church. Not only am I learning English, God is also speaking to me so clearly and deeply.

Recently the enemy stated using a past hurt to bring pain into my life and I saw myself starting yo isolate but I remembered I saw a clip of this sermon on Instagram and thank God for reminding me because this has changed my whole perspective on the pain I am going through. I added this sermon to my Saved list. He’s preaching from my favorite book in the Bible. He’s preaching the verse in James that changed the way I see life. I’m going through the most painful season of my life. But it’s the best season too. God has come close to me. My eyes and ears have been opened! This sermon is truth guys. All of it. I attended this Sermon a week ago while I was visiting my daughter and her family in Miami. I was so impressed with the message, and I know I will come back to it again and again for the rest of my life. I have been a believer for about 25 years and this sermon was quite possibly the most impactful message that I have ever heard. I am almost 66 years old and I might have been the oldest person there but isn’t it just like God to take you out of your comfort zone when he wants to speak to you. I shared at my Life Group in Virginia on Thursday this Praise: that the message of God’s Kingdom is so alive and well across America that we can go forth in confidence and reliance on his Promises to see us through. Isn’t it marvelous that in a city as worldly as Miami that the Light shines so brightly from Vous church - an old public school building that has been transported to a City sitting high up on a hill for all to see.
I needed this today more than anything! Thank you for this word.

Debbie R It happens after every message! They just have the worship team come up for another moment and then do the alter call. Most important! :)
Around minute 12 Pastor Rich says “...get a divorce and walk through it.” instead of it “holding them back from ever having a new relationship.” I’d like to point you to Matthew 19 (along with a handful of other scriptures). A new relationship is not what Jesus prescribes. I agree that divorce should not define us, but now more than ever there are plenty of ministries to help divorce people stand for restoration. Moving on is not the answer. Jesus didn’t divorce Israel and move on... he literally DIED to be able to remarry them.
Better to watch David Wilkerson's sermons. This guy seems more like an entertainer than a convicted man with a burden on his heart for the lost sheep a pastor is called to SERVE. coming to your home to minister to you etc.
