  • CSO training is a year long program in which Air Force Officers fly the T-6 and T-1 aircraft. This video highlights some of the exciting aspects of their training. Upon completion of the training program, students are given the title Combat Systems Officer. These brand new winged aviators are then sent to various airframes to perform the roles of Navigator, Weapons Systems Officer, and Electronic Warfare Officer.

Good job! Really liked how you synced the changing of footage with the music.

One important question: how are you *selected* for: Navigator vs. WSO vs. EWO toward the end of the initial CSO training?

You are selected halfway through cso training based on what you want, your performance, and what positions are available.

@@seancranston2608 Is it true that those who fail eyesight tests are moved to the back seat positions(WSOs)?

Do CSOs still get behind the stick during UCT or has it been changed now?

Wait, I thought CSO's no longer flew planes. Is that not true? And the name changed from Navigator to CSO.

F-15Es and F-16Ds are the fighter jets they are put in. They are also in B-1s and B-52s. They operate from the ground when it comes to B-2s

I know nothing about the Navy. I am much more educated on the Air force now and CSOs are a sub branch of WSOs. The Navy uses NFOs.

+Old glory Im in AFROTC right now and we just had a cso instructer stop by the detachment to teach us about becoming a cso. Surprisingly they are trying to recruit more people into the program because they are getting less cadets each year.

Sounds rather sad. If my eyes were good enough, I'd most definitely want to become one. I only meet the qualifications for Air Battle Manager and Drone pilot
