I once heard Die Antwoord several years ago after someone anonymously shared them on an imageboard. I remember thinking that it was weird as hell and kinda bad. I recently rediscovered them and realized that this crazy shit is actually amazing. Over a few days, I went from being annoyed by them to wanting all of their albums. These guys bring so much fucking energy it's impossible for me to tear myself away.
That the kind of music that challenge you. We're so used to hear the same kind of music. So when you hear something like that it's sound very alien and lot of people first reaction is just to etiquette it has bad. That what society has trained you to do. Actually it grow on you after a while when you start focusing on the message and the music. it's not bad at all.
Hell yeah, some of my favorite music was introduced to me a "novelty" type shit, but then you find yourself having another listen, and another, and next thing you know, you're hooked! Happened to me with Japanese Punk Rock,
I am South African I don't even listen to this kind of music at all, but I have major respect for these guys and what they have done and how original they are. You can't FUCK with that ! And thanks for representing our country, it's about time we get some recognition
That's the mad zef style, friend. Celelbrating the lower-middle class is the new wave and you've been around the block enough times to know how to catch it.
I'm pretty sure these people aren't above cannibalism, and their music is the oddest stuff I've ever heard.... But, this song is pretty damned awesome.
I was kinda disappointed when I had to learn that the DJ is called "DJ HiTek", because due to the accent or my fucked up ears I used to understand "DJ HardDick", what I found pretty straight ahead, cool and hilarious.
Silly thing, it's not about us, but the brilliance and heart of "Die Antwoord" in hooking us on a genre that typically seems shallow and uninteresting.
Music is an individual thing, so just like in any other country South Africans will listen to all kinds of music so long as it suits their personal taste :)
lol, Yo, mcdanel.. You SOB took the words right out of my mouth! the kicker, I'm 52. I can't quit Ninja. I think we been around what was good music 20 , 30 years ago and no most pop hip hop rap we never got behind. Why this? I haven't a clue other that their dis- establishment. Ninja is a genius.
I love how they but in a sweet sounding voice that sounds fierce. and her rap sound is way way better then the stupid shit niky manj got out. the guy sound really good as well like he is actually singing while raping these guys are pretty good
I dunno, Yolandi seems a tad bit annoying to me while Ninja is a bit catchy but sounds like evrey other white rapper out there. like from eminem to Vanilla keeps switching.
i usually hate rap, hip-hop, techno, dub-genres, and everything but 80's and 90's hair metal and grunge but something about Die Antwoord makes me want to move lol i love it

This came on in a heavy metal club last night and everyone was like "wtf is this" and I was going mental on my own :')
I'm a metal head and I find this band fascinating... which makes me kinda sad....
Same here, no shame in listening to different genres :)
Think it's a bit hard to ignore them :')
Davey Wilson
I see them as a punk band playing rave music with metal attitude. Such a neat mix of genres.

because a youtube comment board is the place to prove that, in fact, you are a bright individual and people should listen and respect you.....
I am South African I don't even listen to this kind of music at all, but I have major respect for these guys and what they have done and how original they are. You can't FUCK with that ! And thanks for representing our country, it's about time we get some recognition

Same! I listen to punk and classic rock, but honestly, this is freaking amazing and one of my fave bands.
Yeah, interesting is definitely a word for it
Yeah, African drums and Afrikaans gutter slang give it a unique sound. And oh damn their performances are dialed-to-11 high energy.
I'm pretty sure these people aren't above cannibalism, and their music is the oddest stuff I've ever heard.... But, this song is pretty damned awesome.
