I mostly agree with your list order. And yes, the Silver Maple is totally hard to argue with! A great stacking target-especially for new stackers. In fact, it was the first tube of silver I ever bought!
I’m in Australia, so I stack Kangaroos and Brittanias as they’re popular here, both being sovereign coins (we’re a Commonwealth member country and the Royals are still popular, so far). However I do collect obe of certain coins which I like for fun, so it’s not all work & investing. So it was good to see some different coins and hear a brief history of them. Thanks so much SD!! This is one of my favourite UA-cam channels.
Hey mate, I’m knew and thinking about stacking. I’m in oz also but I live regional and was just chasing a bit of advise. Where is the best place to buy, if from a mint would postage be killer? Or do I need to drive to a capital city. Any info would help me out, been reading up a bit and watching silver dragons and yankee but there is not to much info here where we are

I think it's very important to diversify what coins to stack whilst having a good variety. I go with Philharmonics, Kangaroos, Britannias, Silver Eagles, and Maples.
The Maple Leaf is #1.... by far... classy, fancy, understated.. I concur.. / I would put Liberdads somewhere in the top 5... but can''t complain about that list..
Great video Silver dragons! The eagles are my favorite but they are hard to find in Canada and are very expensive compared to maples. Maples all day long though. Do a video on silver bars/ rounds next for your top 10 picks between the different independent mints 👍
Perth Mint Kookaburras have always been my favorite as far as design. It’s hard for me to walk away from them 😂😎 For stacking… whatever is as close to spot at that moment.
Are they always cheaper when first introduced to the market? I can get a 2024 for 29 right now and got a 23 for a good price but all the back dates cost more. Im almost a year in so curious if theyve always been cheaper the first year on the market
@@SuperCoopdogg Ive noticed the same thing. If you are looking for just one specific date it’s going to carry a hefty premium. Just a couple weeks ago I purchased a tube of random dates for $28 and got 15-2013’s, 3-2017’s, and 2-2022’s. I was happy with the designs and price. When I started collecting Kooks back in 2008 they had a pretty high premium then as well but got lucky on EBay a few times 😎. I don’t recommend EBay for bullion though. I didn’t know any better back in those days.
@@SuperCoopdogg I’ve also noticed some sites will charge more for older dates of maples and eagles as well. I guess it’s just a marketing thing. @@SuperCoopdogg something has been happening to my replies. Basically, yes, older dates will be more expensive. I’ve noticed the same with maples and eagles. If you don’t mind random dates you can usually get those at the same price as the newer ones. Just may not be exactly what you want.
The maple leaf is a great choice. However the old Libertad is the best design even and intricate too.The French have started stacking the 10 franc silver coin which legal tender till 1984 i think.
I also agree that the recent Maple Leafs are the best silver coin to stack. The safety features are awesome and they are probably the most elegant looking bullion coin in my opinion. In fact, I like the look of Silver Maples even better than Gold Maples, and that's saying a lot. Thanks for the great video.
Wow! Top 10 instead of top five! Wonderful I loved it. I am 32 coins away from a Monster box of silver eagles. Approximately 4+ tubes away from a Monster box of Canadian maples. Next will be Brittannias for which I have approximately six tubes. I really love your advice on which coins to get. Thank you Silver Dragons for all of us.
The Britannia's are my favorite. I mostly stack Britannia's, Phil's, and Kangaroos because they're usually the cheapest coins. I do like the Eagles and Maple Leafs but they're always priced higher so I don't buy a lot of them.
This year I want to stack a tube of Britannias as it's the most beautiful coin in my opinion. In general I would go with the maples as they have the highest quality (no milk spots).
I'm a collector since 1986 and collected mainly eagles until 2023 did i finally start buying foreign silver coins and have examples of most of the popular ones out there and my personal favorites are from Australia Perth mint with there animals and also the Canadian mint with there animals now i'm started to but 2 oz coins if they have cool animals on them.I must admit i get tired of same old same old coins with the same images on there coins like the US Eagles/UK Britannia/Canadian Maple leafs but i still buy one sample per year now
Thank you for this listing Silver Dragons. I made my choice of which bullion coins to stack this year, but I was unsure because of all the design changes that recently occurred, cut my 6 choices for stacking are an exact match to your top 6 selections. That told me I made all the right choices. Thank you again! May the Shine be with you! 👍
Please Include the Czech Lion, Please include the Czech Lion. Edit: Aww Gee dangit. I guess they are a little pricey. Not more than the Libertad though. The design does change from year to year.
I wasn't a fan of the 2024 Somalia Elephant, but the 2023 release was a real winner... the 2023 10oz elephant was also a stunner. Something about an elephant coin is meant to be had in 10oz format. Though I won't pick it up this year cause I don't find the design that well done. Bought 2 last year though, very nice.

I invested the cost of a monster box in a GIC. Got 5.75% interest in the last 12 months. I made enough interest to buy 30 x 1oz canadian maple coins this year.
Gotta say that I'm with you all the way... although I would still swap your #1 and #2 choices. I'm an admirer of the Canadian Maple Leaf, but the RCM has had a history of producing coins with the milk-spotting issue. I don't mind that much because it's still an ounce of pretty silver and it it's still a minted coin, but some folks are funny about things like that.
I've only been stacking for 2 years, but most of my stack consist of Maples and Britannias. They are beautiful coins and i really appreciate the security features. However, now that silver eagles have come down here in New Zealand from their unreachable price range i have been buying a lot of them and probably will keep doing it for the time being.
First would be 8reals, then certain ild Morgan's and peace dollars. Far as b.u. coins it goes libertads, krugerands, American silver eagles, Britannias, maples, philharmonics. I really like the Australian stuff too. The kookaburra and kangaroo are nice. I really like the death stalker of Chad as well.
No , for once I believe that we are seeing pretty much eye to eye. I knew that the Libertas, ASE, Britannia and the maple leaf would be in the top ten, but I was a little surprised with some of the other picks
Today 2023 Silver Maple leafs were 2.59 over spot. Actually they have been hanging at that premium for quite some time. Ninety percent, although claiming to be on sale, was still at 18x face for nice Franklins. But for for .39 cents more, I can get a brand new Maple. No slick faces or ones that have been taped to a train track.
Let's face it if your stacking silver they are all beautiful. In my opinion though if you don't mind paying slightly more the Libertad's are a gorgeous coin to have in your hand by far, followed by the American eagle. For stacking weight I would say maple/britannia.
I think you should drop the ASE and the Libertad down 1 spot / rank each. Premiums are a huge concern for stackers and even though premiums on ASE's are way down, there is still enough demand to keep the premiums on ASE's above acceptable when compared to other choices on the list. Also, security features. I love ASE's but I think the US Mint needs to go the extra mile with more security features if only to justify the premiums kept high by lower mintages than many other sovereign silver 1oz coins. Very much like that you boosted your list to "top 10". Best wishes.

I'm in agreement with your list, but I don't think I'd ever stack the ones in your bottom five. I hadn't discovered your channel last year, but it's funny that the number one coin I stacked last year was the Britannia. They're beautiful coins. I had planned to back off of them this year, but with the kings diagnosis, I am rethinking my decision. Charles might not be on the coins for very long, making them more collectible. Just given his age when he became king it's obvious he won't be on coins anywhere near as long as the queen. I doubt that anyone will last as long as she did.
