Oh! I missed commenting on this, Doug! Moore at his best. I may have a different ranking for Moore's Bond contributions, but no one can deny The Spy Who Loved Me hit all the right notes internationally. Moore would go on to star in four more films, but none of them hit the public zeitgeist like this one. From the title song, to henchman Jaws (who was popular enough to bring back) to the trope of the arch antagonist seeking to wipe the world clean of humans in order to start fresh...Curt Jurgens was great, but I did like the question--what if Connery had been cast as Stromberg as they are recasting Robert Downey, Junior as Doctor Doom after his iconic turn being Ironman. I'm not sure it would have resonated with the audience. The cognitive dissonance would be extreme. But it is an interesting mental exercise to explore. Thanks, Doug!
@@diviningdragon Not sure if I would like him as a Bond Villain. The one time he played sort of a Bond Villain he was dreadful. The much maligned Avengers movie with Ralph Fiennes and Uma Thurman. He just did not resonate with me, his performance was strange. That movie was such a missed opportunity. The two leads who are excellent actors were totally miscast and lacked charm. Yet the movie for me is a bit of a guilty pleasure.
@@dougsims4242 I totally agree! And I felt the Avengers film was such a missed opportunity...This is one of the reasons I don't see RDJ being fully successful as Doctor Doom in Marvel going forward. I'm just not sure the broader audience will respond the way the studio hopes....
@@diviningdragon I agree. I for one have very little interest. I hope I'm proven wrong but the casting generally for the upcoming Fantastic 4 Movie doesn't grab me at all.
Was and always will be my favourite Bond movie of The late great Roger Moore❤🍁
Sir Roger will ALWAYS be my favorite actors. And when given GREAT scenes like "Did you kill him?" he absolutely will shine better than anyone else.
Rest In Power 🙏 Sir Roger.
Nobody will EVER do it better.
Hear hear 👍
