I enjoy great pianists especially when they are as humble as you. Its really refreshing to see talented musicians that arent cocky and arrogant with the gift God gave them. Keep playing!!! By the way I could listen to this recording all day everyday.

I remember all of these songs. Many were my mother's favorites. I agree that this kind of music ministered to the heart as well as ushered people into the presence of God. Back in the day, music was truly a ministry as opposed to today's entertainment gospel. God bless you for posting these powerful hymns.

Almost 8 years later and still a fresh anointing. What a blessing to hear you play these songs. God has really gifted you. My prayer is that when God sees fit to bless us with musicians at our ministry, He will send musicians that know these old songs (or willing to learn), also has the same sound as the sound you are able to produce. Love your style. I know exactly what you mean about the effect the old songs have verses the more recent ones. Nothin lik'em! Be blessed in Jesus' name...!

Good to see a fellow SDA musician. Thanks posting one of our most important elements musicians don't focus on. I give you props for keeping the melody and reharmonizing these songs. Most guys like myself included jazz up these songs with no one recognizing the tune. You gotta share some tips! The passing chords got me making ugly faces!

I play this vid before I study my bible and before I go to bed, right before I start my homework.
So just...thanks for this bro, the power of music and in particular hymns are very underestimated. This brings a soothing mood of meditation. Not too much crazy runs, substitutions and tritones, yet a smooth flow and sometimes a suprising aproach to certain parts.
Great playin bro.I wouldnt mind having another vid with the 20-30 most popular hymns hehe
    Blessings

It's an Apogee Duet audio interface. My motif's l/r outputs are connected to the instrument 1 & 2 inputs to record in stereo. it's connected to the mac via firewire to record into Logic. A lot of people use protools and the MBox 2. Same idea...

Descending Eb harmonic minor scale. The typical ascending Eb harmonic minor scale is Eb F Gb Ab Bb Cb (B) D Eb. I played it going downwards starting on from Bb Cb Bb then on down. Fingering from the Bb down is easiest if you go 4-3-2-1-3-2-1. (I hope that makes sense)
Left hand chord was a Bb7#9 (minus the Bb)...D-Ab-Db. Which could have easily been a Bb7b9 (diminished voicing).

This is really nice and pleasant. And good wholesome music and origins. This should be cut to vinyl and CD. But I respect that you are not in it for the profit.
You share your God given talent freely. May the Lord bless and strengthen you in your faith and walk, as you carry your cross daily.
It is ironic how the Lord can produce beautiful music through our sufferings.
