This is sick. Haters are gonna hate. To get a Made In The USA guitar with Nitro to naturally age with a cool hard shell case, and simple but quality electronics you can’t go wrong. I LOVE my junior and wouldn’t mind adding this one to my collection. Especially the TV Yellow. I personally didn’t mind the NY Pickup. I liked the warm vintage sound but I totally get why they went with an adjustable p90. I think 2020 and beyond Gibson and Epiphone are doing a great job at keeping the retro vibe with small features that modern players want for today’s music. Sick guitar🎸 Shoutout to Matt and the team at Epiphone for this one. I hope you guys sell a lot of these guitars. Keep the USA made stuff coming!🇺🇸
What's wrong with the guitar is the P90 pickup, the 59 Coronet had a New Yorker pickup, which Epiphone have fitted two to a reissue jazz guitar. I'm not paying all that money for a guitar that's missing its main feature.
Listen, I love this guitar, I really do, but 1800€ is a bit much. I'll probably get one on a sale or used. I also would love to have kluson 3 on a plate tuners. This TV Yellow though...😍
Why Epiphone didn't use a New Yorker pickup is beyond me. Given they currently make a reissue jazz guitar with two New Yorker pickups. The fitting of a P90 has put me off of buying a so called 59 Coronet.
Like my TV yellow Gibson Les Paul Special minus a P-90 and some minor things. If I were to get this Epiphone it would have to be TV Yellow. I like that Epiphone wants to bring out the vintage flavor and made in the USA. I have to try one out.
Sorry they couldn't do a re-release of those 90's with the reverse bat wing, how cool was that. No mention of why the early name change, I know that's a long story that goes back to the greatest conclave in the musical industry at that time and should be celebrated
Would be great if the boffins in the " Electronics" dept could design a dog-ear mini humbucker that looks like a P90, not a tappable P90 but a mini humbucker wearing a dogear jacket...that may tempt a player?
Not very.. Curtis Novak makes them.. reproduction of the new Yorker pickup..and it's amazing.. so they should have stuck that in it.. wouldn't have been hard
Pretty big miss with no NY pickup IMO. All the talk of preserving history and they miss out on reissuing one of the most unique features of the guitar... The weight and body changes make sense, but the pickup not so much...

The TV Yellow looks good.

I had ablack 59 with a new yorker type pu. Except it didn't have pole pieces
Simple gloss finish double cut LP specials and juniors need to return to the Gibson USA lineup. ASAP
Agreed dc lp jr so dope

Please do a USA reissue of the 63 in silver fox with the batwing headstock. I would buy that in a heartbeat!
Please finally produce one with the batwing headstock!
Hope they release a 1963 style Coronet

Why they not make a double cut TV yellow junior USA production line that is not silly money. The guitar every one wants.
They had them 13 years ago...where you been?
Like my TV yellow Gibson Les Paul Special minus a P-90 and some minor things. If I were to get this Epiphone it would have to be TV Yellow. I like that Epiphone wants to bring out the vintage flavor and made in the USA. I have to try one out.
When is that TV yellow coming out? Looks awesome!
Soooooon... :)
Sweet! Will there be a USA Epiphone Wilshire?
Sorry they couldn't do a re-release of those 90's with the reverse bat wing, how cool was that. No mention of why the early name change, I know that's a long story that goes back to the greatest conclave in the musical industry at that time and should be celebrated
please offer this in the silver fox finish
And a batwing headstock!
I’m a lefty I have a sg jr put a Seymour Duncan Dog ear P90 in it
They sound awesome... love P90's... Next how about a Wilshire review?
We got you! ua-cam.com/video/xbSU7k0o2wY/v-deo.html
@@gibson Thank, and I saw this video when it came out, but the Wilshire has the mini-humbuckers... I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be difficult.
Not a problem!
Would be great if the boffins in the " Electronics" dept could design a dog-ear mini humbucker that looks like a P90, not a tappable P90 but a mini humbucker wearing a dogear jacket...that may tempt a player?
the Coronet from a cpl years ago w/the dog ear pup was $399 list.
I do wish they’d kept the batwing headstock.
The headstock didn't appear until 1963. The Coronet was a different instrument by then.
They didn't use the batwing headstock in 59.
Not a fan of the pickup and knobs, i'm really not sure why they didn't re-release the exact specs of the original models.
I'm saying the same given Epiphone fit two New Yorker pickups to a reissue jazz guitar.
What are those knobs called? they look hexa
Carousel knobs
At that price for single pup very bare guitar… I’d be surprised if they sell 100 of these.
Flaudações lindo essa apresentação
Prediction: these will not sell well. But I do love my USA Jr and Special.
It’s a matter of taste, but I think the soapbar must be nickel finish instead of black for this model.
You can get an aged one from Fralin, I believe.
I need one
It’s as much at street price as a Gibson Theodore and you get a neck pickup. You decide (both got a face only a mother could love)
I like the old one
New nitro is that thick these days it may aswell be poly!
I wonder how hard it would've been to recreate a NY pickup.
Not very.. Curtis Novak makes them.. reproduction of the new Yorker pickup..and it's amazing.. so they should have stuck that in it.. wouldn't have been hard
Real ones sell for ungodly money...wish this new model had a relic patina. Play it for 5 years and it might get one...
Wilshire is the way to go...
Another great guitar!
Pretty big miss with no NY pickup IMO. All the talk of preserving history and they miss out on reissuing one of the most unique features of the guitar... The weight and body changes make sense, but the pickup not so much...
old one just looks sexy
I kinda see the foundation of the SG there... Much better looking guitar than the "Tulip" for sure! Sorry Gibson :)
wish it was a Dogear.
下地もラッカー塗装ですか?
$1700 for a guitar that won't have any better QC as the $500 one? No thanks.
No one is forcing you to buy it Karen!
Ahhh Moderne?? There is another Gibson 50's guitar called a Moderne which has a way cooler shape.
The only thing wrong was that they didn’t make any lefties 😢
Who would have thought that I could buy 2 PRS guitars for less than 1 Epiphone?
Bring back the Rivoli bass
