Kanan Devi (22.04.1916 - 17.07.1992) was among the early singing stars and actress of Indian cinema. Kanan Devi was popularly known as the first star of Bengali Cinema.
Kanan Devi presented this radio program for Indian soldiers posted at border areas.
This program was aired by Vividh Bharati Sewa on 11.4.2013.

wow i have seen jawab in capitol cinema at V T as a child.Had witness kanandevi to kavita krishnamurti.Morden technology has resulted in sacrificing of sweetness and melodies.old music survived because it was live and came. from heart with labour of love 💖 while current music is factory made and came from head with only commercial power politics.

My father (1915-1991) always preferred Kanan Devi to Lata ! His opinion apart , it must have been difficult to sing and act ! Like keeping alive such sterling persons .
