I don't know how I missed this video, but glad I came across it. I'm not only a fan of your channel, but I'm a MAJOR fan of the older Yoda's. From the 1980s-1995s. I love classic Toyotas! At one time I owned 14 Toyota 4x4s all were from 1982 to 1996 My favorite is the 1985 extended cab SR5s because of the way they look and they had the solid front axle, the 22RE engine, and power windows. 3 of the 14 I had were 85 SR5s, 2 were black like Marty's, lol. and 1 was brown, lol. But I like any of them from 1985 to 95 when the Tacoma came out. the EFI In 85 made a world of difference, and I bought a new 1996 Tacoma, But like a crazy man, I sold every one of them about 3 years before they shot up in price. lol. You've done an awesome job on your dads, and yes, the newer LEDs are the best way to go.
That’s really cool. Ksuspensions sells a headlight harness for the XJ that does the same thing, uses the oem stock harness for signal then pulls power straight from the battery so you don’t burn out your switch with a high draw bulb
Great upgrade! You can save a little by getting the Toyota updated harness and Koito GLASS H4 light and use the Morimoto 2-stroke 4.0 and get very similar results. (Holley also uses the Morimoto). I did this last week.
Funny how they done that in the US models but here in Australia the old hiluxes were positive switched. Id like to see more spread vertically as not everywhere is flat
Your Dad should be happy, he'll be able to see the Roo's 😂😅 or elk etc 😂 it's $100 bucks for a set of 75% brighter globe's 😂 here in Australia, if,it last 2 years better than buying 3 set's of globe's 😂 thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
No comparison. So much better for older eyes at night. Especially in rural areas without street lights. When I finally bought a car with halogens I couldn’t believe the difference.
Not gonna lie, this is my dream truck just like this, with a bed cap. Want to add a roof tent and all comforts in the truck bed. Too bad it's not available in the Netherlands.
The reason you don't maintain hot to LEDS is that being more efficient, they will try to grab ground out of humid air. A slowly, drained battery will be the result. I install them on customers boats daily, and smaller lights will actually glow before the negative is hooked up.
From osram or Bosch you could find h4 or H7 light bulbs you use in the original light …. So original look with modern technology, I use the osram in me wrangler and also Bulli T3 Bus, and they are great and with 98 buck also a cheap and fast solution for a LED light
I upgraded my headlights to LED and will never go back. When they're adjusted correctly LEDs are just better for driving and are safer. I still have halogen high beams and only use them to show people how useless they are compared to my low beams.
You already could buy un-sealed beam housings that hold H4 lights then simply put the LED lights in. I've been doing that to my Toyotas and Jeeps for 15 years now; started with HID bulbs in the same un-sealed beam housings. I don't like this solution nearly as much as that bulb looks either non-replaceable or proprietary and I LOVE that the housings come with a standard bulb size that will NEVER be unavailable if they should ever go bad. The factory h6054 plug also plugs right into an H4 bulb, although I'd recommend a headlight harness since Jeep did not include a relay for the headlights and the power goes through the switch.
Shame they don't appear to have any RHD versions. My UK XJ has the least ugly LED headlights that were available on the market at the time I got them, but they suffer from hot spots. I'd replace them with a set of these if RHD was supported.
Well...... I for one dont see well with the white lights.......I don't know if its is just me but i see best in the 3000k range. You get up into the 5700k range and if find myself squinting trying to see......Plus I really hate the cut-off portion again I find myself squinting trying to see!!..... I would much rather have a halogen regular bulb!!
i dont really drive at night because of not being able to see , and also those so-called bright lights also interfere with the on coming older drivers sight , me i always move my eyes to a more cumfy spot not on the road
I just installed the 4x6 holley led 5700 led retrobright and they are garbage. The light is spotty and they look like an led light in a halogen housing
Matt your dad is going to love the truck. I hope we get to see his reaction to the truck when u do the reveal
Your dad is very lucky. The good son . Thanks for sharing.
😃 Nice 👍 a little bit of light work after dark 😜
I kinda miss the old shop man. Kinda nostalgic for an old viewer ❤️
The cut off line out of that Holley reflector is super crisp😯 almost like projector lens.

Are you guys about done...Pop's wants his truck back...lol 😂
Hi Matt, the LEDS for sure are more betterer, much more seeing power and clearly defined landscape in the beam.

At 63, I like the new Holly lights. I have LED lights and it is much better at night.
Yeah, they keep the sealed beam look.
The modern LED lights always look extremely out of place.

7:11 🤣💕👏👍
PS- cant you just use the stock glass housings and put LEDs in them? 🤔
Stock headlights are a sealed beam bulb. Cant take the lense off
@@helmzdeep84 ohh ok cool thanks, haven't messed with that style lights in some years now
Same place i mounted my relays on my 86 4runner!
Really cool ,I really like the new ones Matt nice job. But 200 a piece WOW that's crazy. Thanks for the video bro can't wait for the next one.
I'm gonna be paying nearly 400 a shot for a heated version, sucks!
Funny how they done that in the US models but here in Australia the old hiluxes were positive switched.
Id like to see more spread vertically as not everywhere is flat
doing the same right now on my 04 Tundra, No more Ceracote.

Great job. Thank you 😊
I believe the Holleys are made by Morimoto, glad you went with the Holleys instead of Amazon garbage

Lol. modern whoopie cushion
Good call much nicer!!
great explaining ....
Look into RMS conversion kits. Cheaper and glass. Love mine
Hope that he enjoys the view.
I prefer the old lights, screw the plastic crap
Looks great, but maybe aimed a touch high. I would adjust them down a bit to not blind oncoming traffic.
Wow...much goodier...
Love the channel! But the lights you picked are great for your dad and totally blinding for anybody coming towards you.

All those leds look like cyborg lights
I don’t know if they are worth $200 each. But yes they look WAY better.
I gotta check to see if they have a set to fit my Wagoneer
I want a set for my 96 OBS WT . Never been a fan of the LED options out there.

I don't know if this has been brought up before, but you sound really close to Del McCoury. Gotta be from the same place or something
Ok, when you sat on the ratchet! HA!😅
Definitely the Holly lights are much better. Keepum, he will like um.
The Holley light is cleaner, no comparison

🤘😎🤙
$200 each for a headlight! 🤯
200 dollars and they have plastic lenses...
But….. LED
Baja designs are blasting for $450 a light. That’s how it goes
Left side.
Too bad they didn't use glass like the OEM.
They dont make a lightbfor the 4x12 obs Chevy trucks. Anyone have any recomendations?
The white light does horrible in the rain or when it’s super cloudy.
i dont really drive at night because of not being able to see , and also those so-called bright lights also interfere with the on coming older drivers sight , me i always move my eyes to a more cumfy spot not on the road
Cant believe there plastic at $219 each ... I got glass ones with bulbs for $25 each had to get leds for them though....
You didn’t notice you were sitting on a ratchet until it buzzed up your bung? Hmmmmm
I just installed the 4x6 holley led 5700 led retrobright and they are garbage. The light is spotty and they look like an led light in a halogen housing
200 samollies each. Hell no.👎👎
$168 dollars a peice for the 04
Tundra..
Enough money to blind everyone.
Your odo speed didn't function.
Waste of money tbh
I like the old school look. I was considering these or the Trucklite and JW speaker lights but the Holly looks great.?
