I did that with my mom and the helicopter had glass doors so each of us had one side of our bodies that seemed open to below. It was so crazy scary, Beautiful and Exciting, all at the same time.

That was crazy how many cars were in that line and people standing in line! I would have left too! I think what happens is you feel peaceful spending so much time in nature and just with Joey that you realize how busy and stimulating the world is now. SO its actually a cool thing that you are feeling that. You have created a peaceful life for yourself! And as always if Joey doesn't put a smile on someone's face there is something seriously wrong! Seeing the Grand Canyon is on my bucket list of places to travel. It's so gorgeous. I am only 8 hours away and I can't believe I haven't been there in my lifetime (I'm 56). Thank you for showing us the gorgeous scenery. If you were there the day before Easter, that was probably spring break for a lot of people too. Now that you have your National Park pass, you can go back any time !!!
Been there several times many (35-40?) years ago. Still breathtakingly gorgeous. I'm with you...too many people. But I understand from watching many UA-camrs, this is the state of national parks these days. Packed with visitors.
America is tired of being at home for the most part of all of 2020, so spring of 2021 I think there will be only larger crowds going forward. Be safe and thanks for sharing your journey.

Two yrs ago I went with my brother in law to the GC. It was a bucket trip for him as he was fighting liver cancer. We took the train to the park and stayed 3 or 4 nights, it was great to see the sights again. My brother in law lost his Battle but the memories are the best. Thanks for sharing.

My brother has kayaked the Colorado River thru the GC. A couple of times. Can you imagine how beautiful that would be? I've been to the GC once & can't wait to go back.

I only visited the east , south rim...was gorgeous and the east entrance had just opened a couple of days before.....we just missed being there at the same time by days!! I now want to see all of the park and perhaps go to the river bottom!!
I am 75. Oh my, this has changed so much since the last time I was there 30 years ago. It doesn't even look like the same place with so much cement, so many people (even during Covid). I feel so very lucky to have seen it when it was more natural. I so hope you enjoy it! I think I will pass on going back again, just so that I can retain the memories of when it was more naturally awesome:) Thank you so much for not only showing me chaos, but also the beauty! Thanks from bringing me back to the Grand Canyon… in 2007 is visited Zion NP, Bryce Canyon, Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon and that trip was life changing, little did I know that in only the 2 years after that trip my life would fall apart and it would take more than 10 years to build it back up again… Now I’m planning my USA road-trip to revisit a lot of what I visited before in 2022 or 2023, with the hope to see all its beauties once again, but older and wiser… Thanks for the mini-holidays you give me (and all other viewers) Peace, stay safe, stay healthy and stay happy!

I wish I could have gone back to see more. It is such a magical place. Had unexpected snow come through when I was there made it even more beautiful but very cold. So happy you enjoyed it!
I spent six weeks living at the South Rim Village of the Grand Canyon, volunteering with a conservation org ten years ago. We salvaged juniper berries, and thousands of small plants from a huge swathe of natural habitat land that was slated to be razed for another carpark for the visitor centre. It was bittersweet, knowing it was all going to be paved over for cars. But the experience of living on the rim was extraordinary and a great privilege.

I've been contemplating getting another little dog. Mine passed away from cancer a month ago and miss her so much. Joey is encouraging me. 💓
I had the same experience on Easter Sunday 2019. First time there and it was packed! I only spent about 3 or 4 hours and then my anxiety kicked in. I plan to go back this fall. Thanks for sharing and I'm glad you were able to enjoy the park.
I'm a great Grandma and would also want to say thank you for letting us tag along. Seen the Canon years ago on the west end . The reservation has the glasses platform you can walk out on. Not good for those who have hight fears. But its beutiful. Be safe ☺
Oh my gosh, the ELK around there!!! We only saw them at sunset when we went, and that was just while riding around on the shuttles. Loved seeing this, and the gorgeous views! Next time, I need to go early in the morning - thanks Chantelle for the reminder of the beauty of nature. 🙂

I can still remember the vivid colours of the canyon as the sun moved throughout the day and the light changed. It was a take your breath away day! While I lived out west I never got any further than oklahoma, so thank you for sharing. I had a terrier like Joey. I read some of the comments & someone commented about dog care. My terrier, Roxie, I used no-rince shampoo & purchased dog shiers & clipped her myself. Afterwards she would run around the house like crazy. Take care & stay safe.

It’s such a beautiful place it was one of the best vacations I’ve taken. Holiday weekends are never a good time to be in a national park.

Amazing video! I was there camped out with my 2 daughters and my ex. We had a lovely time, I remember being in the tower looking out! Great memories!

My terrier, Roxie, I used no-rince shampoo & purchased dog shiers & clipped her myself. Afterwards she would run around the house like crazy.
