- Efficient, cost-effective, precise - KUKA robots can offer these benefits and many more when manufacturing timber components. Two KR 500 FORTEC KUKA robots manufacture innovative lightweight timber construction components for a pavilion for the Bundesgartenschau horticulture show. The ICD of the University of Stuttgart has developed the robotic manufacturing solution in collaboration with system integrator BEC. Robotic solutions such as these have the potential to be a game-changer for the timber construction industry, which has only made limited use of automated production processes until now.

i didn't know you had arms with such high payloads. they're amazing! i love the possibilities this precise digital fabrication opens, like that beautiful and unique pavilion you built in the video. as you say, building a structure like that by hand would be incredibly difficult and time consuming.
i would say that there are mechanically simpler and easier ways to automate these tasks with tailor made solutions, but the fact that your robotic arms can be used for an endless variety of things is amazing. i would SOOOOOO love to work with these incredible machines!

Haltpunkte, unnötige Zwischenpunkte, ungleichförmige Bewegungen.

Hallo, bin mir sicher, dass das besser geht. Aber nur zum Verständnis: Die KRL Programme wurden für jede der 376 Kassetten direkt aus dem BIM Modell generiert - insofern waren Unterteilungen der Bewegungen in Unterprogramme notwendig und eine Optimierung durch Testfahrten nicht möglich. Da jede Bearbeitungssequenz je nach Kassettengeometrie natürlich auch unterschiedlich lange dauert, gibt es mehrere Punkte, wo ein Roboter auf den anderen wartet oder auf einen Signalinput der Prozessüberwachung ... Hier stand für uns erstmal Sicherheit ganz oben auf der Liste. VG aus Stuttgart

Man kann doch aber auch Stationsfreigaben mit SynOUT on-the-fly setzen, ebenso Auf Einfahrbedingungen mit Wait CONT. Normales Wait stoppt ja den Vorlaufzeiger und daher kann kein Überschleif berechnet werden.
Was doof ist beim Kuka, Base-Wechsel und Tool-Wechsel kann er nicht vorrausberechnen und bleibt deswegen stehen. Und ich denke mir mal, das jedes Werkstück eigenes Base hat. ABB und Fanuc können das und fahren schön durch.
Hey Kuka, can you guys focus on decreasing costs (while not sacrificing quality or maintainability) so I can have like 5-10 in my house, thanks. Also you guys are missing out on a HUGE opportunity by not open sourcing your software, you could have hundreds of contributors helping write code.

It depends on the engineering standards. I worked in an automotive plant where dimensional tolerances had to be in the tens of micrometers
Allister Lobo in construction they are usually in tens of millimetres when it comes to installation on site. So, doesn’t matter whether you produce it to micrometers..

Very less people have more knowledge than me in this job.
I created a ow technologie package for oszilation in Rapid, which is function same good on old ABB S4 whitout any software option, like on newest ABB ICR5 with Robotware 6.
With PowerForce Control for polishing pressure and you can choose different figurs like simple left-ricght, diagonal, cross, high 8, flat 8.
For simple user questions, you need to programm a complicated code.
On ABB it's simply TPWrite for the message and TPReadFK for user choise OK or Abort. TPReadNumKey for real numbers input.
So, who is the troll in here?

A robot isn't a CNC.
Both have nothing to do each other. Programming language is completly different. I know it, because I programming handing into CNC machines.
Yes, you can milling to by robot, but not in the accuracy than a CNC, because for this, a robot is not made.
A robot is desinged for speed and light or heavy weight, completly open for all what is possible to mount on a robot.
A CNC has only one job to do and this is milling.

Get out of hand how? There are lots of applications for robots in architecture, from 3D-printed structures to machining and woodworking. Yeah, they're pretty exciting.

In den USA sind die meisten Häuser aus Holz und nicht aus Stein, und die sind unglaublich teuer. Es gibt viel zu wenig Arbeiter. Sowas würde hier in der Staaten sich gut gelingen.
