A remaster that actually looks remastered
Halo entered the chat
And yet they censored it
@John Cena no way, I can't believe they'd do that it was never that offensive anyway
But one that doesnt feel like one sometimes. Pore bosco.
Granted, the graphics for the original were really good for its time.
It makes me feel happy that there are people who still care for Sam & Max :)
Me too, I was worry about them when telltale fell.
@@leoanimefan444 same but it was about pokernight at the inventory
@@leoanimefan444 LCG Entertainment bought the assets, and as such are doing business as the new Telltale games
Me too 😊
I just got into the series! Gosh I love them already
On the one hand, I think the original games hold up perfectly fine. On the other hand, I can’t deny how absurdly better the new ones look, side-to-side.
I love the lighting and textures for the remaster.
In both the remastered and original the mouses arm clips though the wall
They at least kept it consistent.
And his ear, too.
That's telltale for ya!
Then it's not a glitch it's part of the universe
The lighting and textures are great in the remaster, as is the fact that Sam is more expressive this time around.
Now I really can’t wait to play the remastered version on my Switch!
Me too
don't bother
they changed several lines for no reason
@@smithjohn4679 IDK AND I Don't care
@@smithjohn4679 they changed a handful of lines out of like,,,,the million other lines they kept the same. plus like most of the ones they changed/removed werent that funny to begin with so who cares lol u snowflakes just look for shit to be offended at i stg
@@smithjohn4679 Lines that nobody will notice nor care about*
The lighting and shading definitely made a huge difference in the Remastered Sam and Max game! I'm lookg forward to seeing how Seasons 2 and 3 will look! A shame they didn't add the Bloopers as a kind of reward for completing the game!
The only downside is the current voice actor of Bosco. The original actor gave said character charm and a personality that made him funny! I don't know what to think of the new one. He made this Bosco sound....Well, not Bosco.
Agree completely!!!!
He got better as he went along, he's very good in the remaster of Beyond Space and Time.
Sam looks much, MUCH better in the remaster
Now this is what you call a "Remastered", not like Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.
It'd been so long since I'd played the originals that I didn't realize how much more expressive Sam is in the remaster. All the small things like that really helped make this such a worthy remaster
I gotta say, this is really a testament to the great art direction the originals had, but also how much room for improvement could make it look from good to great. The remaster looks like the original version fully realized with the right budget.
I just played through episode 1 of the original. Wow, I forgot how bad it looked. The lighting is crap. This remaster looks great.
I mean, there's a reason why it looked the way it looked. They wanted it to be accessible to everyone who didn't have the greatest PCs at the time.
@@TritnewNG that and the engine just wasn't very Good then (it was based on the engine used for the bone games and even used the same sounds, at least for episode 1. also since it was 2006 it only supported baked-in lighting)
I wonder if they'll remaster the other two seasons
They are. Season 2 is set to release in 2021
@@systemshocker2875 HELL YEAH
They couldn't even replace maxes voice in the first chapter, cuz Its a different actor than the one who went on to be max
The game now looks much more pleasing to the eye. The original didn't look very good even at the time. And the remake looks as if the game was released right now. And the features of the gameplay, which may seem outdated, can be attributed to following the ideals of the old quests.
By the way, I advise, if you still do such videos, place the old version on the left, and the new one on the right. So it looks somehow more logical.
@John Cena There are very few of them. And in my eyes, it doesn't spoil the experience, especially considering how much else has been done for the game.
@John CenaI don't understand about damage control response and about normie.
Are you trying to insult me, or what do you mean?
At 0:07 the trumpet fanfare doesn't accidentally play twice. 0/10 remaster
Wait I'm confused you're saying that the trumpet Fanfare doesn't actually play twice even though the audio was the original version
@@Superdupersayain There was a weird mistake / quirk with the original game during the scene transition from DeSoto Driving to Sam & Max's wall. The finishing note from the opening song finishes normally, then silence as the game loads, then cuts and plays the finishing note...again. In the Remaster they fixed it.
i wish they'd keep the original audio for the dlc
Who do you play as? Sam or Max?, or do you play as both at different times in the game?
Only Sam
You always play as Sam. And in season 3 they give Max an actual quite important roll that lets you toy around with some more game mechanics, tho they're mostly to give hints or move the plot forward
you play as sam (however max is playable once in season 2 and technically playable throughout most of season 3)
well, graphics least are smoother. Though I do see clipping in more of the 2020 version than old one. Like mouses ear going through the wall.
It's a rat... 😒
@@SONGOKU02 Rodent :P
@@FurlowT pffff. I let that pass.
@@SONGOKU02 You Otter let it pass
@@FurlowT o.o
Yeah, I actually liked the remastered version better.
1. It has the outside buildings of the TV station and the Mafia Free Playland & Casino
2. Sam & Max earned their own Toy Mafia heads
3. The blinds are currently closed when the Soda Poppers said the word "War".
4. Sam & Max drove all the way to the snowy road to the North Pole.
5. Shambling Corporate Presence currently glows up now.
6. The colored lights changed in the dance floor in Jurgen's Castle.
7. Satan now has black horns instead of red.
8. The Soda Poppers even have striped pants now.
I have a few more reasons. I can go on if you want me to.
That’s it. I’m buying the game! I love it too much!
0:28
why is there a hole directly behind Max's head
I like how the rats ears clipped through the mouse hole
Nice.
i wish they didn't censor some jokes though
I don't know if it's the shading but sam looks like he has more emotions, which I don't like because one of the things I liked about sam is how he didn't give a fuck most of the time
Wow it looks so good!
Many have joked about confusing the sides of the screen with these remasters, but I genuinely didn't read or process the labels and I thought the one on the right was the remaster. And I was saying in my brain: "it popped more, looked more 3D and had better depth". Then I noticed one bit where I thought the one on the left was better, and saw the headers. I prefer a fabric fresh white bunny. The remastered one looks flatter to me and like the bunny needs to go in the washing machine. Relooking at it, there are many shots where the one on the right has more detail in the textures as far as I can see. Are you sure the one on the right is the old game? I also don't remember this game as a classic worthy of a remaster to begin with, but then I never cared enough to play far into the original. I am here because it is presently on a Humble Bundle and am trying to figure out its worth, if any.
Max's gasp
2006: Aah!
2020: AAAH!
It’s like night and day!
Lighting is much better in the remaster and the comic book outline they added totally fits the style, but how the fuck are the 2006 textures more detailed?
they also censored jokes, changed Bosco, big nono for me.

sam: *yeeeet max*
nice
2020 looks so smooth
I played the original a long time back and dont remember it too well... what exactly is censored?
Bosco has a new voice actor. The censorship thing is kind of overblown. While Bosco's new voice is YMMV, his actual dialogue is barely changed except for a line or two in Reality 2.0 and I think Situation: comedy, whichever one has the french bosco
Not much actually. The new Bosco actor isn’t as good and they changed a few jokes that were in poor taste but that’s it. Some of the replacements are pretty weak though.
Nothing, because a creator or owner making changes to their work is not what censorship means.
One of the c.o.p.s lines boscos actor and a few of his lines
More to watch
The vr one is dope I beat it today
Fun fact the original was published by gametap
Someone please explain why Sam yeets Max into the air I am so confused why does he do that
when they cross paths, to prevent the player from getting blocked by him like when you have a follower in Skyrim, Sam just clarts his husband out of the way. it's ok, Max can take it :)
i always wondered that, it was so funny tho when out of nowhere he just 👋
@@giddycadet that is a very logical explanation, but I refuse to except he doesn't do it just cause. It's better this way.
I want another season so bad
This looks really in my opinion!
Boy, it shure is really
01:07 *yeets sam*
I want a tattoo of the Netherlands on my netherlands!
I like orginal uncensored and original bosco way more.
they got rid of the popcorn walls
The old one looks better although i like the remastered office design better then the old one and lighting i still think the characters are overly drawned out and less colored. Plus was it necessary to add an expressive belly button to max😂 and building view from outside looks worse then 2006 one.
The remaster looks like a remake
I hate when they changed the intro and the owners
Visuly its soo much better but i cant stand max's new voice. i wish they would give us a option to swap to the original audio cus thats the only thing i dont like. and dont get me started on what they did to bosco.
I have 2006 version
RTX ON VS RTX OFF
Kinda shame that they took the normal/bump maps in the remaster.
The remaster looks so good. It really sucks the vc for Bosco was completely ruined. I could care less about the removed lines but man. Purple Bosco was so important.
only down side is that the sam and max remastered got whacked by the censorship yidds
@John Cena there is
@John Cena I installed the mod a bit ago. Original Bosco has really low quality audio, sadly
@John Cena only if someone finds high quality audio from the original games. I don't think that's possible
ah yes the developers willinglly changed 0.1 of the lines, such censorship
@@DimT670 i mean it starts off as that most games and then heres comes the next patch that slips in more, and I'm not the only one whose been calling out the silent censor patches as other folks like RGE has been calling out this sort of thing through out the years.
max sounds off
Max had a different voice actor in Episode 1 than in the rest of the TellTale series.
@@Cure_Hana I'm going to be on my deathbed and realise that no one ever figured out who the fuck William Kasten is
Disappointed some jokes got censored
oh the government forced em to? no? then its not censorship bozo
I wish the didn’t censor it, it’s designed to be like this for a reason, ya know!
i heard the remastered got cucked because the have devs could not handle the jokes and to add salt to the wound they took the original off steam so if you wanna by it with the dialog intact you cant it does not exist now.
They're putting the originals in as DLC.
I don't think they couldn't handle the jokes, I think they were frightened of the left-wing psycho brigade and ended up pissing off the right-wing psycho brigade instead
Moral of the story is, leave well enough alone
A bit late, but I do have some research done, and it seems it was maybe 10 (more or less) jokes that were removed and/or replaced. Yeah, I admit it is kinda disappointing, but I do still adore this remaster, I say it really holds up!!! The reasoning is clear though - if they kept the jokes from 2006, it's likely the rating would have changed slightly, as some jokes went from teen to mature over time (which, honestly, is fair enough).
ah yes they changed 0.1 percent of the script, THE HUMANITY
do you jokers listen to yourselves?
What a waste of time. This game deserves to be played exactly the way the original developers intended. Uncensored.
I played the original a long time back and dont remember it too well...what exactly is censored?
@@russellmasc bosco
@@russellmasc Bosco’s voice actor was changed to match his race, so they cast an African-American man that sounds nothing like Bosco. They also changed around a handful of the dialogue so jokes just fall flat on their face. They claimed that nothing would change from the original games but they lied. You could argue that they did it to be politically correct in 2020 but Sam and Max’s unfiltered humor is what makes it good and I doubt it would even appeal to another group of people (aka the snowflakes that can’t take a joke)
none of you know what censored means huh? Ah yes the government forced em to change a voice actor huh?
genuinely who cares? i don't come to sam and max for its Uncensored Political Commentary or whatever the hell some people seem to be up in arms about. i come to sam and max because it has sam, and it also coincidentally has max. the game is great either way.
I have no real complaints other than the fact they changed bosco’s voice due to some snowflakes getting offended.
Despite the change of voice actor if they manage to keep this guy around for season 2 I really wanna hear him say “NO! THIS IS NOT A STORE” and my favorite one “I really am in hell”
The worse thing is that in this case, the snowflakes were the developers themselves.
Don't buy this "remaster", this is a remake. The Devs censored some of the original content.
Yeah I saw that as well! I can’t believe they also changed Sybil’s character model AS well as Change the Voice actor of Bosco! How can they stoop so low!?
keep crying
this is the fifth time i see you in these videos
do you have nothing better to do
@John Cena watching videos of the sam and max remaster and seeing a dumbass repeatedly doesn't equal stalking
No thanks, I'll stick with the original UNCENSORED version.
@John Cena good point!
They had it censored? What for?
@@joshuaslough26 Something about today's snowflakes finding things from 10 years ago too offensive.
Bruh they changed like 4 lines in the entire series
aside from the fact that they literally changed 0.1 of the lines, thats not whatt he word censored means
Looks awful. Why didn't they have the original graphics available? Sad
the textures look better in the 2006 one smh smh smh smh
