It's even sense Karen being the last member. - Umbreon has very high defenses. In the original Gold, Silver and Crystal, it's very challenging by having few weaknesses. The only notable ones are Machoke/Machamp with Vital Throw, Fury Cutter accumulated and Beedrill with Twineedle. However, in the remakes, there are more options, like Machoke/Machamp with Cross Chop, Pinsir with X-Scissor and Heracross with Close Combat. - Vileplume has above average defenses and can paralyze you with Stun Spore. Also can heal HP with Moonlight. - Murkrow is quite easy. The only boring thing that it can do is using Pursuit. In HGSS however, it can use Sucker Punch or Pluck, while it has Super Luck Ability. - Gengar can be very boring with Spite and Destiny Bond. Focus Blast can do a lot of damage in everything that don't resist Fighting. The intention of Lick is paralyzing you. In GSC, it has Curse to cut your Pokémon's HP quickly. - Houndoom has the powerful STAB moves Flamethrower and Crunch, as well Pursuit. In the remakes, has Flamethrower, Dark Pulse and Nasty Plot.
there wren't many dark types back in GSC it was just getting going... but Vileplume and gengar were bad guy/moonlight) dark ish types. both poison too. prehaps she was a posion master at one point
The last elite four member is Karen. She'll have Umbreon, Gengar, Houndoom, Vileplume, and Murkrow. Once you defeat her, you'll finally get a chance to challenge the Pokémon League Champion.

Her Umbreon... *Vietnam war flashbacks*
oh God shes taking the kids oh God they cant hear you they have airpods in.
Good to know Karen! I'll make sure to play with my favorites!
I find it ironic how she is called the "Dark-type Master" yet she has two Pokémon which ain't Dark types.
In my opinion it is even sense since she's is the last member.

Matanumi Luckily, that problem was solved in her rematch team. Now it is full of Dark types!
sᏆᎾᏒm7uᏒᏦ If you want type coverage, that's what moves are for. And she coulda had a full Dark team with good type coverage with the right moves.
Flint is worse.
Karen would be a nasty surprise if the fairy type appeared in gen 4, with her Vileplume and Gengar being Poison Types
Yeah... in fact, patience I have a lot :)
Lucky Focus Blast did not miss
