people (on the internet) have a somewhat skewed idea of what trad goth is- I suspect tiktok/instagram is to blame- but trad goth makeup was usually very.. utilitarian. I dont think trixie would be into it haha. the early goth days were just about whatever black clothing/accessories you could scrounge up, not so much the lacy lolita-esque vibes people associate with modern goths. you mostly had just shadow and liner, and it was really simple by todays standards. regardless, i thought the halloween evanescence palette look was cute! I notice even googling 'trad goth' turns up mostly recent posts by people born in the 2000s.
@sidheo3741 I think what everyone is asking her to do is a siouxsie sioux look from when she was in the banshees. I am super familiar with the monochromatic look of the trad goth, but she did do as close to what that was for a Halloween episode and she will most likely never come close to that again. The trad goth had partially shaved hair and pointed bangs and white face/heavy eyeliner and that's pretty much it outside of the fashion

Your fans are bizarre and you're welcome. As someone who doesn't do makeup that watches any art as a form of appreciation is a thing. I love seeing any process whether painting to glass shaping to sugar/chocolate/baking art. All art is amazing to behold but seeing how it comes into existence is even more enjoyable.

could not agree more. just appreciating trixie’s artwork and creativity - even if you strip back all the other elements - is more than entertaining enough. she is such a multifaceted talent.
Plus trixie adds humor to her videos, so it's even more fun to watch. I'm the same way about art as well. I just barely started watching Hamilton songs from the show on UA-cam, and the lyrics, the music, the choreography, the singing and acting, every part of it is incredible, and I'm starting to become a Lin Manuel Miranda stan. I wish I could ask him about his creative process and how he gets his ideas. I also just learned he wrote a lot of the songs for Moana, and he wrote the best ones, like "You're Welcome," "How Far I'll Go," and the one by the giant crab about being shiny, I don't remember the name.
I was at This is It, for that gig! I recognized both Brandon and Nick and took pictures with them. I didn’t meet Trixie but she was the DJ so honestly werk. I have "catastrophic end stage arthritis" from Marfan's EDS at 55. (Worse known arthritis of anyone in Idaho, likely all of the west) My shoulders are ground in together, and my arms do not go up...I love makeup...I cannot put it on. On bad pain days...you are a go to. You make me smile.
9:00 I have so much makeup knowledge, especially from the 2016 binges, for no reason at all. It literally only comes in handy when my mom has a question cause I only wear mascara 😂
I wash my face in cold water every morning, then I moisturize...I don't own any make-up...But I'll watch you do WHATEVER. Easy Bake videos brought me to you. I love your voice & your sense of humor! I love learning about American culture from you. You're an excellent teacher in many subjects. Thanks for all you do! BIG LOVE from Michigan!
12:57 The direction of brush strokes matters a lot in painting, it creates a felt sense of motion. It makes sense to me that most makeup tutorials direct brush strokes outward and your tendency is to go inward; most standard makeup aims to make the face appear larger and more open, while you probably work to make your face look smaller to create your desired proportions in drag. 🧑🎨🎨👍
That match foundation super power is such a cool thing to have (I do too, after 21 years of being an MUA) Yes, moms have extreme arm muscles because we have been carrying baby since the day they came into this world Foundation is recommended to be blended from the middle of the face out, to avoid having the most product to blend into the hair and hairline. Not all women are bald, so that’s why it’s recommended to have the most product in the middle of the face, where coverage is often needed the most😄
It's also to not have that imagery of a face mask that brands recommend to apply first in the center of the face. So when you apply to the edges there's less product and it blends more seamlessly to the neck
I don't really wear much makeup (my skin's gotten too sensitive and sweaty), but I love hearing about the production and mechanics of it, and I really enjoy watching the process! Plus, when I do wear something (eyeshadow and lipstick!), I can keep in mind what I've seen both in practice and recommendations. Plus, there's also the fun that comes with the whole art and artistry of drag, combined with Trixie's professional-yet-personal persona. It's a great time to be had over here!
You dont need to wear makeup to appreciate the art form, which is very entertaining and relaxing, I agree! Just like you dont have to be an impressionistic artist to appreciate and fully internalize Claude Monets work. ❤
I sort of stumbled into the makeup/beauty community somewhere in the 2017 and I had never worn makeup in my life but immersing myself in it eventually made me want to embrace it. I’m still pretty bad at makeup all these years later but I’ve learned so much. Same thing with cooking videos. I’ve watched probably hundreds, maybe thousands of hours of cooking videos/content and it really did help my confidence when making food. Its wild
8:42 i used to do fun makeup but im a single mom so i don’t find much time. We live vicariously through you babe! Watching people put on makeup is very relaxing and seeing the final product is the best part ❤
I have been watching/following you for years, and your eye shape and brows always reminded me of something. I couldn't put my finger on it until today, though. No shade, but it's giving moth/butterfly. The eyes are the wings, and the brows are the antenna. Now that I have pointed it out, it is all anyone will see. It is all I see now. If you ever venture out of the full Trixie makeup, maybe you can do a butterfly eye inspired look.
honestly yes, I learned how makeup has such a similar process to oil on canvas painting, even acrylic, with the primer, and then the base color foundations, and then you go in with details working from light to dark, and setting the whole thing - even graphite/pencil art is typically set in with a specific setting spray to avoid smudging.
12:59 about the foundation blending - the only thing I can come up with is that by blending from the inside out and upwards, its technically following lymphatic drainage and also reduces the friction and drag downwards that can cause collagen breakdown and wrinkles over time. But idk how much that matters when applying foundation.
Hi, a weirdo who watches ALL your videos without having ever used makeup. I find it so therapeutic, relaxing and just satisfying. I honestly love to watch your makeup videos before I go to bed.
I have never once in my life put on makeup and yet have watched every single makeup video Trixie has ever made... and I could watch her put on her makeup another 25 trillion times. I will never get tired of it. I do feel like I know lots about makeup now, but Trixie constantly reminds you that there's SO much more to know. Her breadth of knowledge is as impressive as it is inspiring.... even if you're not a painter yourself.
When I tell you I have gotten into makeup more because of you Trixie…love how you explain the products like “It works better for a normal person but not for drag” keep doing the makeup videos..love them!!! 😊😊😊
I wear makeup, but I’m a Glossier, Milk, Florence by Mills, ELF cream blushes and shadows sort of person. I just like hearing Trixie’s opinions on things, and especially with ELF there’s been multiple times when her endorsement has really helped me find something I needed. I’m not surprised that people who don’t wear makeup watch this, too! 💕
I think it’d be fun to see Trixie try makeup challenges. I think having some challenges would provide such a fun opportunity to see her flex her creative muscles! Even when she does different makeup for a character like Dr Manhattan, seeing her also share some of her interests along the way is always a delight! This was a fun video; have a wonderful day!
Patrick Ta’s products leave me sooooo shook every single time. He makes AMAZING things. His brow laminating gel? Omg. His lip gloss? Incredible. His HIGHLIGHTER? Ooooof. I RARELY wear make up but it’s wonderful to know when I’m shopping what’s really worth buying.
I don't do makeup but I love watching drag makeup videos because it's like watching a master painter complete a wonderful work of art, and there's usually humour along the way so it's great!
I don't wear makeup but am slowly getting into it/practicing in my room because of this channel! Getting called out by Trixie was wilddd but I'm having so much fun knowing all the makeup knowledge and having none of the skills 😭
8:42 Hey that's me! Every once in a while I start watching Trixie videos again and go "ooooh, should try some new liquid liners!" and have to remind myself that I wear make-up for job interviews and conference presentations and that's about it.
8:41 hi???? I feel so called out omg I watch it because it’s very satisfying to look at. I don’t do makeup but I probably could do it relatively well with my extensive knowledge from my hours and hours of watching makeup videos lmao
Not trixie reading me for watching and not doing makeup 🤣 I just like to watch her look crazy then suddenly pretty and I think cause Ive never done it is fascinating especially when she start saying “ooo look how different that…… makes it” but she just looks the same always 😂😂 that’s my favourite part
12:56 Nikki La Rose (MUA) says that blending from the middle out works best because it looks more natural/uniform, and there’s less of a chance of hard lines at the perimeter of your face
The way I felt further from Trixie when she endorsed children, and than felt fully seen when she pointed at me for not wearing makeup. A rollercoaster.
8:33 I used to wear eye make up / blush / lipstick every day and just don't anymore 😂😂 I really love all the products you have (that may not be available to me) and love to watch someone incredible at their craft talk about it too ❤ 24:45 Ahhh she took us to the bar ❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
8:35 called out. But idk it’s an art form and I like art. And it’s kind of given me more confidence to wear makeup on occasion. But glad to always support 😅❤
I’ve been a cosmetician for years and makeup was a huge part of my self-care. I was out of work on medical leave last year and haven’t worn much makeup since, maybe once a month, and it’s gloss, mascara and tinted moisturizer. Makeup videos no longer interested me (still don’t) but you are THE ONLY one that I still watch ❤️❤️❤️❤️ No matter what video you put out, I always make sure to watch it
Okay, I'm so glad I'm not the only one that doesn't regularly wear makeup for a different reason besides not wanting to! Things just get in the way of the artistry sometimes, but nothing stops us from enjoying Trixie!!! :)
Love Trixie’s relatable content about getting all her makeup for free and getting her robe for free and mingling with the commoners! The People’s Queen.
I don’t wear makeup at all and never have, but I’ve been watching beauty UA-cam for like 8 years. I love watching and learning about the formulation of stuff and watching the process, it’s like soothing to have a beginning and and end. I think that the makeup world is so interesting it has a mix of everything.
My daily makeup routine is mascara and a tinted lip balm. Sometimes I get fancy and where a gloss. I watch your videos because it's cool to watch someone who knows how to apply eyeliner (In a different way, but still it's cool). Also, you make me laugh! Happy new year!🎉
I think foundations instruct you to start application in the middle of your face because people generally need more coverage there i also find it easier to blend to the perimeter of your face so there’s less of a line of demarcation
hi girl, I'm one of your watchers that doesn't do makeup normally! I just like to hear the trixie moment and I find you just doing your thing relaxing even if I don't understand it much myself. (however, I did actually buy a few basics over the new year just to experiment since I've absorbed so much from your channel. we'll see how it goes!)
12:55 this is a trick i learned from watching Naomi and Raven paint, you work from the inside to the outside because when you do it that way your dispersing the product in a way that most of it will go on the perimeter of your face. If you go from the outside and work in you would be being all the product to the center of your face and breaking the illusion. So long answer short it’s just so that product is distributed evenly and in a way that enhances the natural features and not conceal the beauty.
i’m one of the weirdos who watches but doesn’t wear makeup! i’m transmasc and wearing makeup makes me uncomfortable but i LOVE makeup. it’s so fun, i love the creativity and the therapeutic part of putting it on, so i’m like living vicariously through trixie here
I’ve heard makeup artists council to start with foundation in the middle of the face and blend outward because they say most people need the majority of coverage there and not on the perimeter of the face. I need the most coverage on the perimeter of my face, so I do the reverse, like you, Tritsie!
Moms 100% have secret arm strength! Before my moms slipped spinal disk and concussion she could carry things nearly half her size and weight and she doesn’t work out Plus when she ran a daycare she could carry 1-2 toddlers while pushing another 2 in a heavy stroller up a steep hill Moms are powerful! Love you mom❤
hahah i wear super minimal to no makeup most days but every once in a while i do eyeshadow and liner … but yeah nothing like drag makeup not even foundation or bronzer ever so i'm here for the vibes lol
We learned in beauty school that when you are contouring if you blend from the perimeter inward that you can muddy or warm the center of your face too much and then the skin does match your true skins shade but I find that is a rule for the more fair skinned people. I feel like make up has many guidelines that are helpful for beginners but rules are meant to be broken. I personally like to play with breaking rules on days I am just going to be at home to see what works and what doesn't... Formulations are all so different now that we have to use the product to see what they do. Love you Trixie!💋
I feel seen. I was a theatre major and know a bit of makeup but haven’t worn much makeup at all in years. Love watching Trixie and a few others do their makeup and talk.
I never wears any makeup. And i do love watching makeup channel. It's comforting plus lil bit of tea here and there. The first ever beauty channel i loves is Tati.
I wear light makeup and love to watch and rewatch your videos for all the little tips about products and what you say about them, sometimes I simply watch you to inspire myself into being more feminine ❤

I want to be a person who wears make-up, but I'm cheap and lazy.....
I just find you entertaining to watch regardless if it’s something silly or doing makeup. I like your personality :)
No but seeing trixie talking about her sisters baby is so cutee. Like who would of thought trixie will ever talk about a baby like this !!
Trixie doxxing his sisters work
8:41 hi???? I feel so called out omg
I watch it because it’s very satisfying to look at. I don’t do makeup but I probably could do it relatively well with my extensive knowledge from my hours and hours of watching makeup videos lmao
Love hearing Trixie and I both love Ashlee Simpson’s Autobiography ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
it’s really an underrated album!
Not trixie reading me for watching and not doing makeup 🤣
I just like to watch her look crazy then suddenly pretty and I think cause Ive never done it is fascinating especially when she start saying “ooo look how different that…… makes it” but she just looks the same always 😂😂
that’s my favourite part
Thanks for your uploads. They help me get away from whatever I may be going through
12:56 Nikki La Rose (MUA) says that blending from the middle out works best because it looks more natural/uniform, and there’s less of a chance of hard lines at the perimeter of your face
i unironically think this is some of the most beautiful and compelling makeup trixie's ever done
ur Milwaukee videos r my faves, the quantity bc of the natural light is so beautiful like ur radiant in the beginning omfg
The way I felt further from Trixie when she endorsed children, and than felt fully seen when she pointed at me for not wearing makeup. A rollercoaster.
8:33 I used to wear eye make up / blush / lipstick every day and just don't anymore 😂😂 I really love all the products you have (that may not be available to me) and love to watch someone incredible at their craft talk about it too ❤
24:45 Ahhh she took us to the bar ❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Sometimes we just watch (regardless of content) because we just stan you, Tracy. 💞 It's nice you opt to make it informative for the children too. 🤓
8:35 called out. But idk it’s an art form and I like art. And it’s kind of given me more confidence to wear makeup on occasion. But glad to always support 😅❤
I became a regular makeup wearer as a result of watching your channel!
And yes, your brushes are THE best!
WHOA those shadows LOOK BEAUTIFUL they layed down so nicely
“Not saying I want one in my house yet” - Truest words spoken
I would freak out like the lil kids that are taking over Sephora stores lately, if I Saw Trixie in the store 💗
Legit have been asked makeup questions based on the fact I enjoy watching these types of videos. It’s the creativity that draws the weird in.
I'm one of the none make up wearing viewers, just here to help support an up and coming queen.
Your strength grows as the baby does. Moms are awesome!
My daily makeup routine is mascara and a tinted lip balm. Sometimes I get fancy and where a gloss. I watch your videos because it's cool to watch someone who knows how to apply eyeliner (In a different way, but still it's cool). Also, you make me laugh! Happy new year!🎉
19:36 yess trixie its like a trend to replace vowels in words with 'x' lol
I think foundations instruct you to start application in the middle of your face because people generally need more coverage there i also find it easier to blend to the perimeter of your face so there’s less of a line of demarcation
i love that trixie is a wisconsin girl. makes me feel proud to be from here.
hi girl, I'm one of your watchers that doesn't do makeup normally! I just like to hear the trixie moment and I find you just doing your thing relaxing even if I don't understand it much myself. (however, I did actually buy a few basics over the new year just to experiment since I've absorbed so much from your channel. we'll see how it goes!)
4:25 quitting while we’re ahead I guess?😂❤
I don't do make up but it is soothing watching ppl do it. Thanks Trix
So long answer short it’s just so that product is distributed evenly and in a way that enhances the natural features and not conceal the beauty.
i’m one of the weirdos who watches but doesn’t wear makeup! i’m transmasc and wearing makeup makes me uncomfortable but i LOVE makeup. it’s so fun, i love the creativity and the therapeutic part of putting it on, so i’m like living vicariously through trixie here
"i'm the lipstick on the teeth " 😂😂😂 The side commentary is a whole sideshow in itself ! ❤
We Moms def have secret arm strength! We built it up from day 1! ❤
I’ve heard makeup artists council to start with foundation in the middle of the face and blend outward because they say most people need the majority of coverage there and not on the perimeter of the face. I need the most coverage on the perimeter of my face, so I do the reverse, like you, Tritsie!
I dont engage in makeup myself but this woman is hilarious and i love a transformation
Moms 100% have secret arm strength! Before my moms slipped spinal disk and concussion she could carry things nearly half her size and weight and she doesn’t work out
Plus when she ran a daycare she could carry 1-2 toddlers while pushing another 2 in a heavy stroller up a steep hill
Moms are powerful!
Love you mom❤
i love supporting up and coming women
hahah i wear super minimal to no makeup most days but every once in a while i do eyeshadow and liner … but yeah nothing like drag makeup not even foundation or bronzer ever so i'm here for the vibes lol
I am a weirdo that doesn’t wear makeup, but likes to watch. 😂 I love the artistry and your sense of humor 🖤🦇
*hands up in response to **8:40** discussion*
I love make-up but may beat my face only 3-4 times per year. Love ya Trix !
I live for this pink robe!!💞
We learned in beauty school that when you are contouring if you blend from the perimeter inward that you can muddy or warm the center of your face too much and then the skin does match your true skins shade but I find that is a rule for the more fair skinned people. I feel like make up has many guidelines that are helpful for beginners but rules are meant to be broken. I personally like to play with breaking rules on days I am just going to be at home to see what works and what doesn't... Formulations are all so different now that we have to use the product to see what they do. Love you Trixie!💋
Madonna stuns in new selfie
I feel seen. I was a theatre major and know a bit of makeup but haven’t worn much makeup at all in years. Love watching Trixie and a few others do their makeup and talk.
You Trixed us all into it 😊
Trixie is such a beautiful human. I'm jealous of that gorgeous skin.
I need her to do like a quick review after her DJ gig so she can let us know how everything held up
YES!
I never wears any makeup. And i do love watching makeup channel. It's comforting plus lil bit of tea here and there. The first ever beauty channel i loves is Tati.
It's so great I see you're making a butterfly on the center of your face. So creative ❤
I think it's a moth
I wear light makeup and love to watch and rewatch your videos for all the little tips about products and what you say about them, sometimes I simply watch you to inspire myself into being more feminine ❤
