    Thank you! Looks great with the plants and the dog!
    I am finishing up my yard and working on several gates now. I came to the same conclusion as you to get 1 gate post in good first, then work your way to the other post to get a good fit. Nice to see someone else do it though before I do. I might cement the gate posts after I get the whole gate fit right. I also bought some black wedges for a few other posts that I could not get perfectly plumb.

    Glad you got yours working. Mine came with missing parts and no instructions and by the time we went to home Depot and bought everything missing we learned we could have saved money just buying all the parts ourselves instead of their kids. Even their ground sleeves had home Depot tags on them. Customer service was a nightmare too

    Greetings from nearby Chadds Ford. Excellent overview! I install one of these for a customer on the main line tomorrow and I expect, with your insights in mind, to get done quickly!

    We've had this nylon fencing for several years now in our garden. Yes, it keeps deer out but unfortunately animals like the woodchuck chew openings in it easily. We've had to use chicken wire fencing to patch these breeches. If you want to keep your plants intact look to the wire coated fencing.

    Thanks for the helpful video. Maybe next time leave out the background music whioe you're explaining the how-to. I found it a bit distracting. But overall well done!

    Did you have any problems with pounding the sleeves in plumb? Do you have any tips on accomplishing that? I'm on the verge of throwing away the sleeves and buying concrete.

      No problems. Just go slow and check with a level after every few whacks with the sledge. Also I installed mine in the spring so the ground was a bit soft so the sleeves went in pretty easy as compared to trying to do it in the hard dry ground of late summer.

      Bert that was my question too. Very rocky soil where I'm from and I can't imagine those sleeves holding up to the pounding it would take to drive them to sufficient depth. I'd try it but I'd be prepared to rent a post auger to drill the holes and set the posts in concrete if all else fails.

      I purchased the recommended dig bar and that is such a great tool for digging a hole for the sleeves.
      I learned that once I get the dig bar in the ground the first time, I use my body weight to move it back and forth to make a larger hole for the sleeves and the bar drops a couple of inches on its own, keep repeating. No need to take the dig bar out and pound it back down to gain inches down, works smarter, not harder.

    2" gap between gate and post, how does that prevent small critters from getting in?

    • @brandywineangler6748
      @brandywineangler6748  5 місяців тому

      I created a sort of flap that was about 10” high at the bottom that overlapped the gap. Seemed to work because we didn’t have any evidence of critter invasion

    I just made the mistake of putting my fence up at edge of vegetable garden. Hard to harvest. Should have left a walkway inside the fence all around. However the cukes like to climb it.

      It was a hassle to move the ground sleeves but it didn’t really take that long and now that we are using the garden I am really glad we have that walking space around the outside edges! Our cukes still managed to jump the gap and grow up and through the fence too.

    How is this fence holding up? We found it online, but are not sure if the longevity of the product. Thank you!

      So far, so good. We moved a few months ago but it was in great shape right up through the time we sold.

    How is it holding up after 1.5 years? Is the poly fence still taut?

    @brandwineangler6748 Thanks for sharing your install! I'm about to do my own. I've got two quick questions for you.
    What strength is your polypropylene fence mesh, 700 800?
    How has the fence held up over the last few years against the potential sagging top line you mentioned?

    • @brandywineangler6748
      @brandywineangler6748  4 місяці тому

      I don’t recall if my fence was 700 or 800, unfortunately. We moved a couple of years ago so I can’t offer a current assessment but as of the time we moved there was no sagging. I was very pleased with how the fence was performing. I know that does not really help you too much but I hope it helps a bit.

    Does it seem like a dog would be able to chew the fence ?

    • @brandywineangler6748
      @brandywineangler6748  2 роки тому +1

      As someone who has owned a number of different dogs in my life, I would say that will depend on the dog. If a dog sets its mind to chewing it, yes it is chewable. But if you string it tightly it will not be easy to get any spot to start. I doubt most dogs would be all that interested in chewing it as there are far more interesting things in most back yards to most dogs.

      @@brandywineangler6748 I think you're right. My dogs are content in an enclosed space as long as they have food & water. And maybe a bone to chew on.
