I love how this band changed pretty much their whole identity on this album and everyone agrees the records a slapfest. This band deserves so much praise
Brutalmann96 “Calloused, cold, out of control” is a line from the song Calloused, and, when this album releases, their 3 most recent albums will be “Calloused”, “Cold”, and “Out of Control.”
@@FRIGIDBASTARDS Right, sure. The music can be fairly derivative of other works. I happen to like those works and believe that Gideon does bring something more to the table than the standard metal core band, which keeps me coming back. But I'm not sure why your frustration with how overplayed you think this kind of music is has to be brought out on me. I like the song. I expressed that. You don't need to come at me for it. It's my opinion. I'm not a douche because I made a hyperbolic joke about liking it. And plus, Gideon isn't the only band I like. I happen to enjoy the work of a large number of bands in this scene. It’s so refreshing to hear the snare sound like a snare instead of a low tuned floor tom like you hear in 90% of modern heavy music now. Whoever engineered this did a killer job
First show I ever went to was them. Madison Alabama. Small venue rated for 200 people. Had 400+in the building. They have never not been good. Cant wait to blast this when I get home
Tattoo parlor in Sylacauga. The stage was a small wood riser near the front glass windows. Shai Hulud, A Plea for Purging, and Counterparts were also there. Best show ever.

I like this song a lot. I know they just denounced Christianity but the lyrics sound like inner conflict within himself and God. I’m stoked for the rest of the album!
Gideon band is very consistent" timming " drums bass guitar voice " they rock " every song lyrics is persistent energy loud getting done ..feeling there music in my head hearing there performance understanding ..its real in your face.
I was too busy laughing at, not only this song in general, but the bassists terrible Alan Jackson shirt as well. this band is shit. First time and last time listening.
I was listening to Bloom radio on Spotify a couple days ago and this song came on. Needless to say I was instantly obsessed but it so much better with earbuds in, or when I am driving.
Lol the drummers shirt! This track had me ready to break some shit. underrated song for sure gotta listen to it with proper speaker to really feel it🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is truly amazing. I would imagine in this genre of music, these songs are bangers. I usually listen to either rap or idk (indie, blues, folk? idk what it would be considered lol) but I found this band by typing random stuff in the search on snapchat to go with a video I made, and now I am listening to the whole album. I love how it does have a feel of the rap music I listen to, I think you've found a way to sort of combine the 2 personally, I have never heard a style like this before and I love everything about it! I wish I wasn't 3 years late but it's truly better late than never and I'm so excited to start following you guys and see what comes next!
So I imagine in the past month+ you've done your research, but if you haven't, this is metalcore, a fusion of metal and a genre called hardcore punk. They're definitely more on the hardcore end, although there's obviously plenty of metal in their sound. Bands that sound close (but tbf nobody truly does it like Gideon) would be the following: If you want something that keeps more to the metal/punk end: - Kublai Khan TX (fantastic band, the closest to Gideon's sound that I can think of off the of of my head) - Varials (definitely a lot more metal, their latest album actually went a lot more into the punk scene, a couple songs have clean singing in it and damn near go pop-punk, but everything before that is great). If you want something that hold a bit more to the rap end of things: - Landmvrks (french band, their newest album in particular while definitely still being metal has a lot more rap influences in it than any of their previous work. Best band on my list imo, but their newest album was a top 10 album of 2021 for me so i'm clearly a bit biased) - Stray From The Path (I personally can't stand this band because I find them too self serious without realizing that their lyrical ability amounts to 8th grade political takes and twitter hashtags, but some people love them so you might, too. Definitely the most rap influences of everything I've listed, the vocalist Drew York actually did a song with Landmvrks, the band above, called Death. It's solid, the guy is a good vocalist, I just think his lyrics his band is writing are corny/cringy as hell). Either way, glad you enjoyed it, hope you explore the music further.
@@mgonzalez8880 all good. I've been listening to this stuff as long as I've been an adult, and Kublai Khan was actually the 2nd band I ever heard live. Might as well use that experience for something.

Sick album name. "Calloused, Cold, Out of Control."
Holy fuck I just realized this
I actually asked them jokingly if out of control will be the next album title after a show in Germany like 2 years ago, and they said no way 😂
I knew that this album was gonna be named out of control 🤣 Especially from their previous album Cold
I don't get it?🤔😐

a perfect balance of heavy riffs and melodies, the revival of melodic hardcore is in these guys 💯❤
Counterparts would like a word
You would think breakdowns couldn’t be unique anymore but this song was pleasantly unique and refreshing. Song gave me chills
Exactly
Def goose bumps
They used a whammy pedal to shift their already pretty low pitch to an even lower frequency producing a pretty unique sound
That feeling when the vocalist is bellowing shit that directly correlates with how you feel personally and things going on in your life.
Always
