Hi Everyone. I've been informed that the parts retrieval box is still there but it's invisible. If you clear the blueprint designer, your parts will be placed in the box and you can walk up to it and press "E" to open when you see the gear icon appear. Hopefully this will be fixed soon. -OG
Thank you sir, this helped explain what I was missing with trying to organize BP's. One additional tip is that just like how you can assign parts to hotbar slots, you can also assign blueprints with the same action (hover over then press number).
Just FYI, the parts do NOT return to your inventory. The box that was previously in that spot is missing, but if you hover your mouse over it and hit 'E' you'll open the box and see all the parts.
Thanks for this vid. The UI in the Blueprint is so frustrating - having to create a subcategory in a new category before you can drag and drop a blueprint is bizarre. To me, at least.
Especially considering the text tells you that you can just drag and drop to create a sub category, even though that isn't the case. I thought the thing was just broken on dedicated servers (so many things in the past have been). At least that turned out to not be the case. But, man, this UI is really bad.
This was helpful, thanks! I haven't played since blueprints were released so I probably would've been confused by the need for subcategories. Also, you can organize blueprints on the hotbars just like any other recipes, right?
Do you know how to dismantle a blue print that you've built in the world? I heard there was a way to do that 1.0 vice having to select every component with 'f' and be limited to 50 objects. I haven't figured out how to do it yet though.
Sure. When you are in dismantle mode ("F" key), look at the blueprint and press "R" and it will disassemble the entire thing at once. If you added anything else to the BP after placing it, those items will have to be disassembled separately. Hope that helps!
Possibly the worst UX in the whole game, far too quirky. User-centric design right out of the window. It used to be splitter/mergers not fitting betweeen belts (great design!!).

Yes. Those are good tips and I use them myself. 👍

Thanks for pointing this out. I assumed they purposely removed it.
super helpful, thank you

Thank you!
You're welcome!

Agreed. It took me some time to figure out its quirkiness.

You’re welcome and yes, you can place BPs on your hot bar. I do it often.

@@TheBeardedOG That's awesome! Thank you I will give this a try!
Works awesome! I appreciate it!

It's a bit odd for sure!
