One of the very few true personifications of Rock and Roll from that generation still going strong
Always glad to have more content form Pauly!
This is so great and brought up so many cool memories and kinda synchronicities for me.
Like in the early-mid 90s I was drumming in a band and we got to play a KROQ show at the Whisky A Go Go and the headliner was the Untouchables who were awesome. It was a full house when we played and the crowd other than our people didn't even know us but totally responded. That was the best sounding stage I ever got to play on. What a blast. Met a beautiful young lady in the bar area that night.
And when I was just 14 years old in the mid 80s my friend and I took a bus up to Hollywood and we ended up in the Scientology building and some guy with swirly eyes was trying to keep us there and bring us into that shi*t and we said some smart @ss thing and ran out of there. Lol. And that same friend was really into Janes Addiction early on and I got to see them up there several times while still in high school and just after. That friend and I we also saw the Dead Kennedys at the Olympic Auditorium and Fishbone opened. Unfortunately, the singer got stabbed on stage that night and had to be rushed to the hospital. But they were great.
Jeremy U if you're out there reading this hit me up man!
Another time at the Olympic around that time PIL played with Social Distortion and Butthole Surfers and there was a full on riot outside after the show. I could write a whole movie scene about what I saw that night.
In addition my older brother took me to see The Ramones and Firehose opened. What a show!
Plus X is one of my all time favorite bands ever and they blew me away when I saw them live. Billy Zoom worked on my brother's and some of my other guitarist friends amps. They would all take their amps to Billy Zoom.
I didn't even hang out in LA and Hollywood as much as I could have because I was from Fullerton in OC and didn't have a car until I was 18 but those were some great times.
Anyway, always appreciate Jesse's perspective and EODM rock!
Me no likey hospitals. 😢
