Jesus spoke Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic. Philip, one of the Apostles, is a Greek name with no Hebrew equivalent that was used. Many of the other Apostles were fisherman and tradesmen who would have to know Greek to conduct their businesses. Matthew was a tax collector who had to deal with both Jews and Romans.
