I always liked these a lot. Reminded me of a Porsche 944, but better looking imo.

I had the 1988 version of it and I absolutely loved it I finally gave it up after going through three turbochargers. Really wish Chrysler would come back with this one.

The guy who ended up buying this.... a Conquest was the first new car he ever bought, back in the day.

Mom bought a new black one when I was a teen. First thing i noticed too was the deep exh note
Every 4 and 6 banger back then was super gutless that Conquest moved out pretty good for its time.
Import version of the Grand National. Body was way ahead of its time great looking car. She had 0 issues with it and didnt baby it

My Uncle had an 88 in pull me over red. I thought all the gadgets were the coolest, and listening to the turbo. I was 10 when he took me to Hershey Park PA. from Massachusetts. It was a cool road trip in that car, not to mention the reaction of the Amish that we passed by. Brings back many fond memories.

I learned how to drive manual on a Chrysler Conquest Tsi Turbo. Took a bus from Toronto to North Carolina to buy one and bring it to Canada. I bought it. Drove it all the way back to the border to find out I can't import the car. Canadian regulations. Crappy ending to an otherwise awesome drive. I got it detailed in NC before I left on the drive. It was a beauty....ended up selling it in Albany.

Why won't Canada allow this car? Nothing is wrong with it . I'm just curious as to the reasons. I'm sure it's something dumb they thought of 😅

@@TTTt-vz6mx my assume that they cant import it without all the paperwork that are required for importing a car? It cant be just simple as sale of report.

I didn't really have high expectations for it when it came in, but I really ended up loving it. Fast, in its own way, great turbo and just a lot of fun to drive! And that interior... all the buttons and the seats, just crazy 80s goodness from Japan. Super funky and cool. Thanks for watching!

Love this car. I had the chance to purchase this or a Honda CRX. I chose the CRX and I'm glad I did. It lasted over 300,000 miles before I sold it... To this day, I still ask myself, 'what if'.

The CRX is the better car for reliability. I want both a CRX and Starion now. Lol

I test drove a new 87 Conquest Tsi. A fun to drive car. I almost bought it but got an 87 Daytona Shelby Z instead. Mostly on price, $15k vs $17k! I did later purchase its successor, a 3000GT VR-4

Was this a cold start? I’ve always driven finicky manual gearboxes, and some absolutely do not like quick or hard shifting. It usually takes 10-15+ mins of mild to moderate driving (increasing gradually), to warm up the gear oil properly.
If you time the revs off when the gear oil is still cold, the synchronizers will want to crunch and almost grind (depending on how old and/or worn the transmission is..

I had an ‘85 with the Technica package. Automatic. Mine had no identifying markers on the outside, they forgot to put them on during the finishing process at the port. The only Conquest identification was the steering wheel insert. It did have the Technica markings on each front fender.

My First Car '89 TSI bought in '92. Unfortunately had to let it go with the burden of a divorce about 15 years ago. I see the dealer/shop tag on the keys. I'm in the market to replace what was lost. Is this one for sale by chance?

The car was offered for sale on bringatrailer.com a couple of months ago. The auction didn’t meet reserve, but the car was sold to an interested party shortly thereafter, price was over $30k.
