You know, the real reason why Bakugo is always angry is because of how broken and fragile he is in the inside. He does not want anyone to see this side of him because it seems “weak” so he always tries to hide it. Because he thinks that if he opens up, it will just make someone use him. It’s sad but I think this is where his anger is coming from. I bet he cries a whole lot at night though...

I know someone who I thought had the same problem and he always seemed so mad but one day I found out how he was battling depression and I realized why he was so angry
as someone who wasn't diagnosed with depression(you can't really get your parents to take you to psychologist when they're the reason for the depression) but sufferered through it, almost killing myself and I can confirm the violent and angry tendencies.
I used to just snap at everything, i was very angry and antisocial and didn't want to seem weak to others (I was basically Bakugo). Whenever someone would try to make me feel inferior all hell broke loose. I was just unstable and not well
of course now I'm better, I'm still going through healing but it's been quite a while since that time

His anger comes from panic attacks notice everytime he gets mad he usually is sad he even had a very obvious panic attack in i think it was in season 1 episode 8 somewhere around 4 minutes in

I think he’s so angry because of how he was raised. People would always praise and coddle him when he was younger. This led to him thinking he was the greatest and that he was better than everyone. When he finally went to UA he realized that he wasn’t as good as he thought and that totally destroyed his world view. He felt like he couldn’t live up to the expectations placed on to him when he was very young. He feels like he failed all the people that praised him and doesn’t think he’s good enough until he’s the undisputed winner. Idk this is probably way off but that’s just the way I like to think about it.

Anyone who has expectations placed on them can live quite happy until they grow older. Expectations can grow bigger as the person above you can make you think that youre a failure if you cant make it to your goals. Thats why bakugou can be so rude. Everybody praised him and told him that he would be an amazing hero, which really can make someone believe that they should be able to do it. It upsets me to know that Bakugou had this path, but now he has pther choices. Ill be happy to see what paths he takes and learns about for he is my fav character.
People also made him be strong, like in negative way, if he really got hurt they will start saying that he can handle it

I can Relate to Bakugo so much... Everyone has their own ways to Cope with Pain, Stress and Sadness. Just like Bakugo, He uses Anger to Cope with it and I Laugh to cope with my Stress and Pain.
I also can relate to Bakugo.. To be honest whenever I feel sad I usually lash out and become angry but after than when I’m alone and know nobody is with me I start crying and break down..

I also relate to Bakugou. It’s probably why I have such a big crush on him. He uses anger to cope with stress and pain, and I use anger and humor to cope with stress and pain. I feel like he’s always angry because he’s really sensitive and doesn’t want people to know because he thinks it makes him “weak”, I also act all happy and funny so people don’t know how broken I am because I feel like if they know they’ll treat me differently and invalidate my feelings. So, that’s why I feel that me and Bakugou aren’t all that different.

He allowed himself to be "weak" just for a few seconds. That just shows how much he needed some affection and understanding, before going back to being "strong" again. For him to say that he's weak too and actually admitting it not only to himself, is HUGE for his character developement🙏🏼🖤

A few days ago I watched on youtube something about the Golden Child Syndrome and it might not relate to this at all (your opinion) but I think he has a little bit of Golden Child Syndrome cuz since he was little everyone said he was the best, he was going to be the perfect hero, he has perfect marks at every test and since he does everything perfectly of course he believes that he's above anyone else. He believes that he is special and is made for a great destiny. But since he got into highschool he realised that he is not the best. And worst of it he lost to the only person he considered weaker that anyone else, Deku cuz he was quirkless. This has come as a shock to him and he couldn't believe this. With every battle, every defeat proved him that he wasn't that special and great and perfect as he believed. He became even more insecure and when he saw how much Deku was growing it felt like he was left behind. He felt like everyone passed by him and walked in front of him, further and further away, everyone grew and trained so hard and became more and more stronger than he remembers them. He felt like he didn't became strong at all even though he trained as hard as them. Deku was the main reason why he became even more insecure with every technique he learned, every special move he created and this made him ask himself if he really is that great like he believed. I tell you if he wasn't stubborn and didn't have a strong will and determination he would've end up like the rest of the people (well some of them.) that couldn't face the changes, that couldn't adapt to the new things and didn't try to change what they became.

Bakugou is like his quirk
It may be flashy and loud that that is just to hide the fact that at the root of him is something unstable. If you make the mistake of angering him or messing with nitrogen you will pay the price.
I kind of relate to him under the surface is a completely different person I have social anxiety and if I don’t know the person very well I refuse to speak or speak as little as possible.

I relate to bakugou alot...and that is also in terms of our anger issues...coz when i'm angry later i breakdown. That's just how anger works. It's a coping mechanism for sadness and expressions of hurt. And i see that alot in bakugou. People do not understand how good i feel when bakugou starts crying or shows that he's hurt, because it shows that he's had enough. He wants to be given praise just like deku. He doesn't hate deku, he strives to be somebody who turned out to be as perfect as midoriya even after being a quirkless boy. He wants people to see how hard he's worked too. I have this respect for Bakugou❤❤❤. Loved this Amv.❤❤
Thanks you so much. I totally agree with you, in fact I think Bakugo might have a depression. My favourite chapter was precisely the fight with Deku, that moment was very important for him.

Bakugo just has anger issues it doesn’t make him a bad person. The way I see it he just always feels like he has to prove himself and I’m pretty sure his ‘pride’ is just him having trust issues I only think that because of the rescue arc Midoriya was aware Kirishima is the only person Bakugo would let himself be saved by and that could be due to the fact Kiri is the only person he really trusted in that specific group of people. I haven’t read any of the mangas and I’m not even done with the anime yet but that’s just my opinion people can disagree

Yes, he is my favorite character. Every one thinks that he is a arrogant, mean, angry brat because in inside he's actually broken. His tears are stronger than midoriya. He's working hard to be no1 hero by his own without no one's help that one inspired me so much. He cries outside sometime not because of he's weak but how long he's been strong. During kacchan's fight with Deku, we really saw how much he hurts on the inside. He thinks hes not good enough and that hes weak. He even blamed himself for something that wasn't his fault. Deep down on the Inside kacchan could be depressed and have anxiety but just doesn't want to show it or talk about it. We need to protect the beautiful being that we call an angry pomeranian
At the beginning of of the show, I hated bakugou Because I didn't understand why he always was yelling at deku. I didn't understand why he was always angry. As the end of the third season came around I understood him more than any of the other characters because I was going through some shit. He's a human. He's trying his best. He wants people to praise him and give him love, just like they do to Izuku. He dosent hate Izuku he actually looks up to him in a way. Deku is always able to get back up again and prevail over all of his classmates. Bakugou sees him progressively get better and stronger and he just wants to become more like that. In the UA battle vs shoto, he wanted him to use everything he had because he felt like he had something to prove. He always has his gard up to protect himself, because he feels weak if he lets someone in. The fight he had with deku just proved that he looks up to him and wants to become more like him. He even said that he was devastated that he "ended" allmight which isn't true in the slightest. I understand him more than ever though. He's not a character to be hated, because in reality he has the most interesting and complex character development I've personally ever seen. I love bakugou so much. He is best boi 💚💚

I feel like Bakugou will eventually soften up, he isnt mean because he chooses to be, its how he copes and how he makes himself feel better. Bakugou is used to having at least a little attention and at the same time being kinda close with Midoriya, but since Modoriya now has One For All, Bakugou was "Left in the dust" and wasnt exactly praised as much, which I'm sure was hard on him, not only that but I dont think he was raised in the most loving of households.
Edit: I'm not saying mama Bakugou is bad nor is papa Bakugou, mama Bakugou is just harder on him.

I love how bakugou is just that sort of character that truly enlightens you on how sometimes working so hard to reach your dream could affect you so badly and that there are so many obstacles you have to go through to reach your dream and that’s just how life works sometimes. You don’t just work hard and not have enough sleep hours you have to really mentally challenge yourself and along the way changes little parts of you to the worst. That’s just my analysis of bakugou’s character, I was just immediately intrigued with the way his portrayed along the way and how he’s the spec of realism of setting high expectations for yourself and gaining self insecurities along the way. This was longer than I expected...

Kohei Horikoshi, really though about how he would make Bakugo...people know him as that explosive angry boi. But his temper, is so much more then that.
I started watching my hero academia because one of my freinds was a my hero weeb like big time.
I don’t like to admit this but I have quite the anger issues and she would call me bakugo or say wow you act like bakugo when your mad.
Then I’m just like who the hell is bakugo???? And that’s when I started watching now I’m also a my hero weeb but when bakugo was shown and I got to see how he acted I got really mad because he seemed like a dick in season one in the first few episodes.
Once I looked in to the character a bit more I realized how much I can relate to a fictional character.
And this is why bakugo katsuki is my favorite.
When I first saw bakugou I instantly love him lol and I can also relate to bakugou

Man but Bakugo is that classic situation of when you're young you're considered 'so talented and gifted!' with teachers and adults alike praising you constantly, then when you grow up and start having to deal with real world problems you feel inferior and like a failure because now all that praise has stopped and you're no better than everyone else around you. If anything it makes you feel worse.
God I relate to this character on a heavy, emotional level. I hope his development continues and he can eventually overcome the anger clouding him.

He's a human too even if he's angry all the time he's still a human being and his character is just so amazing and this poor boy is harboring so much hurt omg I want to hug him so much now-
Honestly, what I think is so cool about Bakugou is that Horikoshi could have so easily made him into a stereotypical bully or rival, but instead created a character with a proper arc, that not only works in the show as a contrast with Deku, but also as a parable on how people view the characters in the show.
I remember, when me and my sister watched the show together, we were both taken aback at first, that this character was supposed to be one of the good guys. And while I was able to see past his demeanor pretty fast and realised, that he's just placing expectations on everyone, including himself, that no one, no even him, can reach, my sister took a while to get acustomed to him.
When we reached the kidnapping arc, I asked my sister, if she believed, that Bakugou would turn sides, she said that it was possible, but that she also thought it wouldn't really work for his character arc and when he reached out to take Kirishima's hand, she was really impressed, that he accepted help. But he did brush it off immediately and she rolled her eyes at him for being ungrateful.
And then the second Deku/Bakugou fight happened. We were both really surprised and taken aback at his outburst (and the amazing performance by Okamoto Nobuhiko), but what really stuck with us was All Might's line of: "I forgot that you are still children".
Because shortly after, my sister turned to me and said: "Shit, I really forgot he's only 16. What were we doing bashing on him so hard?" I think, that's what everyone else forgot as well. These characters are teens and everyone acts like their adults.
It was really nice of Horikoshi to remind us of that.

1:44... That moment is honestly my absolute favorite Bakugo moment in the entirety of 4 seasons, the entire manga, and both movies.
This song is perfect for the real Bakugou. Because under all his anger, determination and pride - he's only human. Can't see how people don't get that side of him and only see him as a bad person, makes me so sad.

I love how Bakugou’s character shows how strong yet vulnerable he is.
I just realized that Bakugo stopped smiling after getting into UA, he smiled in the first episode genuinely because that was the only time he felt better than anyone else, he still does, but when he got into UA, he saw so many people wanting to be heroes and with so many quirks he started doubting himself, he doesn't know how to express himself, so he does it by shouting and pushing everyone away, but bakugo truly is sad I think..he doesn't show it but the sudden change got to him, where he used to be best now has a lot of competition. Yes, he likes competition, but I think that he is facing too many problems.
When the league of villains got to him, bakugo saw it as him being weak, and thinking that if he wasn't weak all might wouldn't be 'ended.' I think it's also that he doubts himself, and doesn't know who he truly is.
Deku used to have no quirk and bakugo could look down on Deku with no hesitation, but when Deku suddenly became strong, bakugo felt humiliated when he lost against Izuku who used to be so much weaker than him. whenever Deku tries helping bakugo , bakugo sees it as Deku looking down on him.
But bakugo never shows his true self, does he? He hides behind a tough strong angry person but inside he is sad..
Bakugo is truly an amazing character and the character development from 1st to 4th season was immense.
He's vulnerable..
Please love him, he deserves it

People forget that Bakugou is not a fully fledged adult, he is 16!! He doesn't have the maturity of an adult because he's not an adult. He's learning and making dumb decisions like every teenagers. Bakugou was kidnapped and had expectations pushed on him from a very early age. He held strong and he still is. People forget not only that he's only human but that he's only a child!
He's so much more complicated then what meets the surface. He doesn't want to be seen as weak or damaged. He just wants respect and recognition.

Bakugou isn't just some brat who hates everyone. Hes like this because the way he was raised, the way he was treated, the way he feels. He copes with being mean and yelling. Everyone has a different coping mechanism. Fore example: The way I cope is eating or laughing. People need to realize that Bakugou is going through his own trauma and hurt too

I Never really liked him but nor hate him. I started to like his personality and understand him. In my opinion he has the most complex character and the best character development. He never had anyone to talk about his other feelings beside happines when he was a child but till now he still doesn't anyone to lean on. Students from Class 1-A always views him mean and aggresive and a bully. I just think he only knows how to express his emotion through being straightforward, and aggresive he doesn't put fake feelings on his opinion. He also suffers wonder how scared he is when he was captured by League of Villains the current most dangerous alone and 3meters away from him it's scary bring him a 15 year old, where his parents didn't even get worried. He always bottle up his feelings. All Might's favoritism or focus on midoriya even though he is his succesor, Midoriya as Bakugou's childhood bestfriend imagine someone you admire from the beginning before even you bff suddenly gets attention and love from All Might. Someone who was behind your back all the time tables turned around, ofcourse its always paingul just like real times... many people views him as a bully even if they don't know why-how and somethings privately and behind the scenes that are kept. There's even alot to his character. Just My Opinion on my Point of View
Bakugo seems to be angry but he is kind person inside who is fighting inside to prove himself. I love it how midoriya never leave his side as a friend
People hate him but in the series, there are moments where he shows that he cares and that he just wants to be loved like everyone else..he’s human too..

A lot of people think Bakugou is my favorite character because he’s a “bad boy” and is “hot” but it’s because he (and Momo and Todoroki) are the characters I can relate to most. I’m usually seen as the emotionless girl but when I show my emotions I get mad like Bakugou and shout and insult others then I feel bad for them and I become the emotional girl So he’s a character that shows the audience that not all rude people care about themselves it’s shown in season 3 in the last few episodes where he confesses to Deku about his true emotions

Bakugo is the type of character I want to punch in the face a lot because my personality and his completely clash. But at other times, I can relate to him, he is praised for being physically strong, but is emotionally cracking. I am physically weak but emotionally strong, yet even I crack(just not around people usually). And when we crack, it shocks people because we are thought of unbreakable (in different ways granted). This Is caused by extreme amounts of mental stress, which is the worst and most viscous kind of stress. Never thought I would talk about how I can relate to him, and it never really occurs to me. But what a great amv❤❤

I can't explain how much identified I am with him.. He did his best even knowing his limits, saving all that frustration and stress of not being hable to move forward.. and bearing the blame for All Night's powers even when it wasn't his fault, he was so broken.. that's why I love his character so much, he's the living image of perseverance for me
I think Bakugou's greatest fear is being a failed and being seen as weak, that is why he holds himself to ridiculous standards and that is also why he sees Deku as trying to surpass him and beat him. I agree with many of these comments that at the end of the day Bakugou cries, but not to sleep he looks at himself in the mirror and hate-shames himself. I don't think anyone really understands his drive to be a hero that is why he feels misunderstood and acts reckless to prove he isn't weak, frail, or powerless.
I think that most of the bnha fandom judges Kastuki unfairly, we just say that he is angry and has a bad temper but ... we have started thinking about why kachan is like that?? We Don't know all the backstory of bakugo and I think we Need the backstory, to understand why kastu is like he is, but..... Yeah thats all

Ik I'm very late at commenting on this video. At first alot of people didn't like him. However I'm in college studying to be a psychiatrist and he clearly shows signs of golden child s syndrome. He was always praised and brought up. When you reach the top of that mountain there nowhere else to go. Deku started at the bottom but all he sees is him getting stronger than him,and since he's always been #1 he doesn't know how to react to it. He's truly only showed his emotions to all might, deku, and red riot. Those are the true ones he trust. You can see the respect they get after this in the 2nd movie when deku gave him his power. Deku wanted to be more like him where he wanted to be more like deku( not so angry and be more caring) but like todoroki his attitude came honestly. His mom is just as angry as him, even saying if he was stronger he wouldn't of been kidnapped, all while he already feels all might lost his power bc of him. Talk about mom putting salt in a wound.

The scene where all might hugged him. I was literally sitting there crying while he an izuku where fighting. I was like omg all might where are you please stop them. And then he was standing in front of katsuki and I was still crying like idk and screamed omg please hug him already. This was such a powerful and really needed scene. I think both katsuki and izuku really needed that.
