You will burn more calories riding an Ebike than riding a couch.

I’m a 74 year old female and have just bought an E road bike. My knees had started playing up when going up long hills and I was avoiding so many areas. I’m now back to riding these areas and really enjoying it. I sometimes don’t have power on at all, with wind behind me etc.

I find that on my bike PAS-1 just about compensates for the 4 inch tires and 75 pond weight. Another point of exercise is when the motor starts to drag when you approach top speed in any particular PAS level.

A lot of people who like riding bikes and would normally use it as a form of exercise don't ride their bike very often because of the challenging terrain in their area. Let's face it - it's no fun riding a bike if you're constantly struggling to go up hills. It sucks the fun out of it. Consequently, they don't ride their bike very often ... or at all. Also, it can get boring riding a bike if you are constantly riding on the same route. An e-bike allows you to conquer those hills and explore new places that you would not normally do on a regular bike. This usually means that you will ride more often than you would if you didn't have an e-bike. You can definitely get exercise on an e-bike. Set it on PAS (peddle assisted) level 1, which usually has a target speed of about 6-7 mph and peddle fast enough to go 10 mph. You'll be getting exercise and when you're confronted with a hill, you can still go up without exhausting yourself. You'll ride longer and more often with an e-bike.

I'm 57 and riding hard on my Peleton and started developing knee and hip pains. I've been competitive all my life and I think it's time to slow it down a bit, so hopefully this will be less stress on my body. My bike arrives Monday! I even ordered a helmet, lol

I have a regular MTB to ride for exercise , but getting back home is the problem due to inclines, I'm not in the greatest shape. When I think about the hills I have to get up to get back home I decide not to ride at all.

I feel your pain Brother, I'm 61 and recently retired from the USPS as a Regular Letter Carrier walking up and down so many stairs; meanwhile I use to ride my MTB (Montague Paratrooper Folding MTB) to work all the time, later I taken a break for 2 years, Now that I'm retired since 28 Feb, I plan to ride my MTB every 3 days and no matter what obstacles are in front of me I will over come them; aka the Hills. This helps me build up my leg muscles so that I can take any hills, as long as my gears are working properly. Having 2 E-Bikes a few years back it made me lazy, but my regular 27 Speed MTB helps me stay fit and healthy.

Hello! My experience as an long time conventional mountainbiker and now sometimes E-biker. Without motor I ride in torque mode with relativly low rpm and puls. With motor my candence is higher my puls also.

I prefer ebikes with zero throttle. Still haven't seen a quailty throttled ebike. Most are using the absolute cheapest components, and have horrible gear ratios. Big seats are not good for long distance riding.

Since riding 10.4 mi. A day on my e bike, my stamina is amazing, stomach muscles greatly improved ( along with arms) not to mention the amazing things it's doing for my.legs. people who say you don't get exercise don't know what they are saying. They should go for are ride on an e bike in 0 or 1 assist. Folks seem to forget the simple fact that these bikes all by themselves typically weigh 60 pounds or more. Good grief. Common sense.

I had two E-bikes a few short years ago in which made me a little lazy, but a Regular Bike (Montague Paratrooper MTB) is no pain no gain; pedaling not stop helps build up your leg muscles and helps your heart become even stronger.

true ... doing nothing ... no exercise ... e bike ... some exercise ... but pure bicycles ... max exercise ... they made e bikes for lazy people who don't feel like climbing hills
