Water from a glacier is very cold, so even good swimmers would get problems fast if they should end up in the water...
There are more than 2500 glaciers in Norway, half i the southern part and half up north. The 3 largest ones are in the south. The one you visited, Briksdalsbreen, is actually an arm of the Jostedalsbreen - the largest glacier in continental Europe.
@@countrymouse.ld51 And unfortunately at an accelerating rate. That's global warming for you. If you look at a time montage of pictures of Briksdalsbreen since the 1950s you can see how far it has receded. In 1950 the glacier reached to about where you were filming from, far down into the valley.

If you look closely they got one red and one yellow life jacket. They just didn't use them :-)
