I used to have a raincoat that folded up into a pouch on the back of the jacket. Jack in the Sack i think it was called. Not a great name, but a nice jacket.
I have a coat like that one, actually I have 2. One has directions inside the coat that shows how to fold it inside itself. Not tried it yet but will when this crazy weather stops freezing me!
If I can get myself together enough to plan my packing (as opposed to throwing stuff in a suitcase and go😉!) the jeans, with planned top, undies, accessories looks awesome. Have to admit that I do not own a puffy jacket and don’t quite get the appeal of dressing in a style of the “Michelin Man” unless one lives in/visits a very cold climate.
I always use the roll method when traveling. My clothes are less wrinkled this way, if at all. The folding method, does it leave your clothes wrinkled?

That's a great way to have a heavy coat outside of the luggage for more room and a pillow. Very nice!
