I only know Fred Saberhagen for his Berserker novels; some are pretty good, others less so. It's interesting to see how several SF writers have taken to writing Dracula novels... It had only been published in a now-defunct Dublin newspaper. It's going to be released in a book this week at the Bram Stoker Festival in Dublin. Pretty cool. Terrific video, my friend. Disney did part of the Prydain chronicles as "The Black Cauldron", which was basically the second book in the series. I think "White Nights" was the last Dresden book I read; I also remember the series on the Syfy channel. I no longer have the Dracula books, I do have "the Frankenstein Papers". My comic book collection now consists of about 18 issues of Howard the Duck, and regret giving away the Heavy Metals. Best wishes to your wife and yourself.

@@GrammaticusBooks I wish I could get you to read the Dray Prescott books by Kenneth Bulmer. They are the best pastiche of The Mars series by Edgar Rice Burroughs. Much more detailed. Bulmer unfortunately used a lot of fake names. He had the idea that the name went with the style of story. All his books have value. He wrote the best battle armor book ever in the Diamond Contessa. Lots of series. It took me 20 years to find out what his real name was. Alan Burt Akers so obvious fake. But cool.

I like the Butcher, and think he has come a long way as a writer from his earliest works. I am current with the novels (#17) but have a novella to catch up on. I would like to commend Butcher on one thing - many writers write short stories of their characters, and distribute them to anthologies, etc. So you may have to get an anthology of 10 writers to get all of the author you like. Butcher has apparently kept repub rights, and every so often publishes a self anthology of all the shorts and novellas, the two being Side Jobs and Brief Cases. I do regret one thing for him, he has gone further and further into the fantasy and left the urban setting behind. Early Harry was much less powerful, but the fact he did it in the "real world" was different from many. He may come back to the setting, but for a HUGE battle with monstrously powerful foes. He's also started a steampunk series, two novels in. Cinder Spires. Humanity is living in huge towers, the Spires, two miles high and two miles wide. And not going out on the surface. They fly between them in airships crystals providing lift from etheric energy, also used for cannon. And talking cats. But they only speak Cat. Few humans do. And some few genetically modified humans, faster and stronger4 than us. Warriorborn. Swords and power gauntlets. First is aeronaut's Windlass. Prayers to your wife and yourself. Take care of you as well - cancer can leave victims that were not infected, only affected.

White Night is one of the more forgettable Dresden Files novels. I enjoyed it but the one before and after are a lot better. Don't get me started with the Half Price Books prices 🤦. My biggest complaint is the inconsistency. I picked a 1 edition of Duma Key by Stephen King for $9 in great shape. Then I see copy of The Stand in terrible shape with no dust jacket for $35. I want a hardcover copy of the original version of The Stand but not for that price. I see a lot of Conan comic book reading in my near future. I want to make a video about them. I was pleasantly suprised to see a video from you this morning. Keep up the good work.

I love Saberhagen but admit he's not the best writer. Still a solid choice. I've read all his Berserker and Swords/Lost Swords books and a bunch of others such as Octagon and some of the Vampire books. Love the idea that Dracula is actually a good guy unfairly slandered by Bram Stoker. I need to get into Vorkosigan and Prydain someday.
Now I tend to get going with an author & read them out. I would not score anything she wrote about Miles or in his “universe” below an 8. The story about the camp I can’t rate cause I would end up saying 12 or something else that violates borders of the scale so just gonna say inspired brilliance! READ IT!

I just finished this one Storm. And the last 50 pages were actually pretty decent. Now the previous 330 pages.....
Warhammer/Black Library books are terrible - why anyone would pay premium prices for them is beyond me.
There are certainly a ton of them. There are a few I like though. If you can find WH books written by Dan Abnett, his novels are generally decent.
