I want to put out there that I did not like this trailer - by which I mean the tone/style they were going for. I liked the information it gave, and I am still excited for the game to come out. But I won't form any proper opinion until I see some actual gameplay, and/or more information. On the trailer - EA/Bioware most likely outsourced a company to make this trailer, as that's a common thing with videogames - so this likely isn't what we'll be getting, for the most part, it's some other company's take on what was commissioned for this trailer (I hope that made sense).
I hope this isn't what we're getting at the end of the day. I'll admit, after news about it's development cycle, dropping a trailer like this makes me question what they were thinking. Not exactly the biggest confidence boost. Hoping the gameplay trailer turns out alright at least.
Jackdaw's stream earlier showed a new Game Informer article about the reveal, and the screencaps in the article showed an art style much more in line with what I expected from Dragon Age. I'm hoping that's the case and we'll see that on Tuesday and the art style of this trailer is just a marketing gimmick.
@@TheLastKentuckyIrregular9524 Old Bioware is gone. If new Bioware can't pull this off then frankly, maybe it'd be best if the name passed into memory.
For now, I'm going to be optimistic after all, I don't want to judge just based on the trailer, I need the gameplay to understand what we're dealing with.
I’ve never been more disappointed with something. I feel like I got stood up at my wedding 😂. I really hope the gameplay footage shows us something amazing. Everything about this trailer was off. The art style, the tone, the music, EVERYTHING. If I saw this trailer in isolation I would have sworn it was for an out of canon mobile game.
The prevailing theory right now, about the "great dragon," is that its one of the Evanuris, and that shot is in the Fade. During that section of the trailer, if you slow that scene down just as the dragon is raising its wings, you see the statues of the Evanuris behind it. Speculation among some of the bigger DA youtube community is: that scene is not only in the Fade, but the Black City, itself.
My biggest gripe with the trailer was the music and the tone. The music was to modern, which made the tone more similar to Suicide Squad or another franchise that leans heavily on pop culture than a Dragon Age game. Hopefully it was just trailer wonkiness. Here's hoping it's still going to be a single player game. I'm having nightmares about EA saying "nonono it's not a *live service*, it's an *ongoing digital experience* with a roadmap of future content that will definitely happen for a small price : )"
That was the MOST DISAPPOINTING trailer I’ve ever had the displeasure of waiting 10 years for. That video proved to me that they don’t even care about the lore or tone of the game, and the actual play now has to be damned near perfect before I would buy this game.
My response was essentially the same, but maybe more intense. The trailer lost me completely. The game play revealed on Tuesday would have to be mind-blowing for me even to entertain the possibility of buying this game on sale someday.
