You know ive heard this song so many times...my parent used to play it all the time when i was younger....and it never meant anything till after something happened in my life....so id just moved into yr8 and after alot of thought i decided to join drama and i met this girl. She was the most beautiful person i had ever met and the kindest after a few months and after she broke up with her boyfriend she went out with me, and you gotta imagine how amazed i was how she was a year older yet she still "loved" me. Now i put that in quotation marks because she may have "loved" me but she took the most inportant thing from me : my faith. Now i never was heavly christian but she almost made me feel ashamed of it...so i turned my back on god. The 3 month i went out with her were the best and also the worst 3 months in my life as i l "oved" her too and she made me so happy! But that was the time my depresdion started to form....and i started self harming and cutting deeper and deeper until i was considering killing my self and eventuly i couldnt take it any longer and i had to end it with her....she was my everything! But i was an idiot as i almost killed myself over nothing all because she made me feel helpless and i couldnt do anything about it cause i was blinded by "love"...but after a few weeks had pased i heard this song and i felt a warmth in my heart i hadent felt in ages! And i realised god had forgiven me for shunning him from my life as he is all forgiving and he loves me. Now notice how i didnt put gods love in quotation marks...and thats because his love is real and his love and guidance made me happy! Way more than she ever did! And my depression has gone, i have new friends! And best of all i have god back in my life. Thats the best thing in my life.
Hey Sam, god bless you for sharing your experience. It made me relate to you. You see i was a christian but these past 2 years i started doubting the existence of God. My faith slowly faded away and I completely shut down God. And i didn't have anyone that influenced me to do that. I did that on my own. My head was my enemy not a human being. But then I became severely depressed. I cry all night, I wanted to die, I felt lonley, hope less , and worthless. I am still fighting depression but once I turned to god I felt soo ALIVE. And cutting never really solves anything my freind (never do that again pls). The psychiatrist said to draw(with marker or sharpie) something on the area you want to cut instead of cutting with a blade. I am glad you have overcome the depression and found God. And i know you will find someone for you in the house of God or maybe your ex might become a christian one day and realize what she is missing. Good luck and thanks for sharing your experience

The Holy Spirit really used this song! I finally looked it up today.
