- Had to show my patio some love since the weather is getting nice. Of course, it wouldn't be a Raven Elyse project without some DIYs. Some worked; some didn't! I made some fireboxes to go by the pool, flipped my Crate & Barrel tables, and "tried" to create some modern aesthetic customized serving trays. Watch to see what happened!

I think you should try the tray idea again but just with clear resin. You wouldn’t have to worry about sanding anything down as the pieces will be shown throughout since the resin is clear. It would be a lot more food safe as well.

Raven, make the failed trays into outdoor art pieces. Brake them in half and put some kind of finishing sealant on them , and put them on your bigger table maybe. 🤷🏽♀️😂 might be cute. 👋🏽😁

I would use the tray as a big coaster for the middle of the outside table. You can use the leftover material to make coasters. I really like the fireboxes. 🌸

I was thinking maybe you could use the cement pieces as coasters for the grout tables paint/spray it and put something pretty to dress it up and them pieces you stick on furniture to not scratch the surface or floor xx

Hey sis, If zi were you I would use them for "stone coasters" because cans, cups, and glass sweats. Help, protect your new tables. OR as a weight for yard things that may blow away. It could be a rock garden decor piece. Or a stone sign for decor of some sort!! I'm sure you'll think of something!! Love your home, it's so Raven!!!

Hey raven 💃🏻 maybe you can seal it with the same sealant you used on the outdoor tables and use the tiled cement slab as a tic tac toe game base and use two different colored rocks to stand for X , O . Happy belated Mother’s Day beautiful! Love all that you do, you are phenomenal !!!

Raven this video was hilarious! The fireboxes and tables looked great! I think you should try the tray idea again but make a wooden tray and use the grout in a thin layer with the broken glass pieces in it then seal it with a food safe sealant. It will be lighter than the cement and easier to make a thin layer in the tray. I have seen people make table tops with broken glass pieces on them and they used grout and you don’t have to sand it because the grout just fills up the spaces between the broken pieces.❤
Turn the tray into coasters! Or decor sit something on top of it like an outside candle

The planters are a dope idea. It'll be cute black and double up the structures; them being smaller makes them easier to relocate, but the space definitely calls for a double up, so two more planters for sure.
Someone give this lady a IGTV segment/show immediately! she has such the personality for it. Even though she does it great on her own channel the exposure could get her the high paying customers/endorsements she deserves!
If you still decide to do the cement tray, you could put a light coat of cement down and dry it. Then add the glass tiles (after the first coat has dried) with another light coat of cement, light enough so not too much sanding is required :)

Tables look awesome and the boxes look good too! The night vibes are def heightened. For future projects you can also line the sand part of the boxes with large garbage bags to prevent leaking. You can also extend the legs to length or width of the box to prevent it from detaching when you try to move it again. For the mosaic part, it is super time consuming bc it’s all about placement. It’s best to place each piece how you want it then apply the cement. When you apply too much it will cause the air pockets unless you thin out the cement enough to ease into small crevices. Love your channel!

You could make coasters for your outdoor table with the concrete and leftover glass.

The coffee table and side table came out nice!! 😍 You can use the slabs you made with the glass as coasters. Or go with decorative tray idea and add greenery and decor accents on top.

For the tiny tray. You could definitely make that into a tray to sit maybe some of your fav perfumes or a candle on in your bathroom. Maybe do smaller granules in the mix

I think you should use the concrete and glass shards idea for stepping stones for your plant boxes! It would be a great diy to use up that concrete and shards while being cute! I’m not positive you can make that concrete food safe

I suggest adding 2 more sealer coats on the tables
Add felt feet on the diy fails and sealer on top for your newly refinished tables.
You could do a thin layer of cement, add the glass on top, and do a resin coat on top so you can still see the concrete without having to sand anything
Cut smaller tray into cup saucers for the outdoor tables. Just an idea. Good Luck.
You should paint the tables black and add an outdoor rug

I think you should consider sealing the paint on the fire pit boxes, especially with them being exposed to the elements. I would hate for the black paint to stain the surfaces of your pool.
Hi Ms Raven, a huge fan all the way from Singapore. I do have a similar concrete pieces with tiles like terrazzo look-alike and what I do with it is act like a decorative pieces on shelves. You can put plants on top of it. It will not go to waste and who knows you maybe making a start to your future Home Decor Business! Big Fan!

You can get the stone spray paint at Home Depot if you want the tables to look more like stone instead of concrete ◡̈
I would try the failed DIY again and create coasters! You can add felt pads on the bottom so they don't scratch surfaces.

Hey @RavenElyse there’s a sealant that you could use, that’s specifically for outdoor use, that’s weatherproof. You could’ve used those for the boxes over the pool, to prevent the sand from slipping out.
You can use the cement blocks as trivets for hot food to be served. It will protect your table from Hot Food (indoor/outdoor😊. They will also blend with your outdoor furniture if you choose to use them outside

Love your videos. I am a diy girlie myself and have been renovating my house. A good tip that has helped my projects tremendously is pre drilling a hole before screwing in the screws it helps a lot with accuracy. I also started with using a jigsaw too and got comfortable with that. Eventually I started using a circular saw and that changed the game. Also a kreg pocket hole jig is amazing, it looks intimidating but very easy to use. Would have helped with building the planter boxes and with projects in the future. Love your creativity and videos.

The fire pit sexy up the pool and backyard to another level for sure
Put a seal on it and use as a riser make more and place around with snacks on them etc. You can even put a natural coat of paint on them and some feet !😏
