I live in Makiki, we have two similar homes in our neighborhood one got knocked down and fenced and now we have squatters in tents and lots of trash, in the lot. The other one is also fenced off but has become a chicken coop waking up everyone at 3 A.M.. why doesn't Habitat for Humanities come in and make these homes livable, instead of knocking them down, or the city should hold the owner of the property accountable for cleaning up, and checking on the property, every morning I walk out of my unit and have to look at all this trash!
When I visit Hawaii, the chicken noise is my #1 concern. #2 is when you get out of a car and the baby chicks come running to you because they are so hungry, terrible. I actually think it's abuse to let domestic animals run wild. Ok, done with rant.
@@zoneout0 that area has a lot of homeless now. Under the freeway and in that little park. What freaks me out is my sister lives nearby. When she first moved there she could walk to the store. Now it's scary just to walk out her door.
it prolly belongs to a mainland hedgefund or bank, they sit on it till they can buy more in the area, helps the property value to go down a bit too, if the homeless take over there
Buy a Couple Làrge Dogs, you folks feed and water them, and they will protect you, that man watching that house made a choice,so quit whining,to watch over the property.
If property owners cannot pay the fines within a certain date, shouldn’t the state be able to auction off the house? It’s an empty house, not an abandoned house if the owners want to put a fence around it. Seems very unfair that the neighbors who ARE paying their taxes and maintaining their homes and businesses have to suffer because of this irresponsible owner. They should sell it and pay their fines or find a solution to maintain it.
Shame on city and state to allowing criminal trespassing into private property and ruin it like the property owner does not have anything to worry about. The problem is the whole community know homeless don't belong there but instead not doing anything about the it. The authority should throw the criminal who are trespassing of private property to jail. That is the right thing to do to help your own community by working together. Shame on those who blame the home owner as well.
Nope most of these home owners are either foreigners or mainlanders but It was the plan for many years to price locals and hawaiians out of our own land so it would attract more foreign investors. That's why in the past 3 years more than 15,000 local and hawaiian families have left the islands from what my loan officer told me I'm one of many leaving next year as well.
@@wahiawabound808 that’s what I thougt too They are so hungry to buy real estate in Hawaii and not even taking care of it and our government let them loose . Give them fines These are the rich people. Don’t care So unfair .
Or you can just give it to the homeless guy that’s watching over it and help him fix it up so that he’s no longer homeless…
The homeless will burn the thing to the ground soon enough.
I think they already did that but one more match will get it done.
Sell the property. Must be worth almost 1 million dollars.
My man said he was retired 😆
Meanwhile the state is selling affordable homes & apartments to mainland realtors & companies.
Abandoned house .... lots of homeless. Lets see if they can put two and two together.

owers put up a fence?i thought it was abandoned? you expect property improvement from owners of an abandoned property? is this a bit?
Didn't the Pensacola St one catch fire twice because of homeless people?
good thing theirs a fire station not too far away.

@@cherylmedeiros6287 true, I noticed a lot more homeless camps right on the sidewalk on king st. They got moved out of the parks & into the sidewalk.
@@zoneout0 looks horrible. Something needs to be done for sure.
That's a really stupid idea. If you put up some fencing, they're going to make a hole or break it, and more illegal activity will occur.

You mean / problably/ ?
The city should by the property instead of fining the owner over and over again
Sell it already, or are they waiting for it to catch fire for insurance
Maybe the owner died or is incapacitated but a homeless guy watching the property is ridiculous.
That's good they got a homeless guy protecting it from homeless guys.
It is simple, bulldoze the home.
Nah bulldoze your Own Home.
