I like the truck overall, but what's with the front wheel rims? They look like they came off a horse-pulled wagon.
At this point in the game, body clips should be a thing of the past👍
What should we be using then? I though about magnets, but issues with that.
A system like the xmaxx maybe but that's integral to the design.
1/4 turn zues fasteners maybe would be a good option.

I think this F-450 by CEN Racing is a bit of a missed opportunity. The chassis looks reasonable but the body doesn't have the level of scale realism that it could have done. Some of the details look very cheaply done, especially around the lights, grille and front bumper (those towing hook decals for example). A bit of extra effort on the body and it could have been fantastic. The dual wheel king is still the Cross-RC PG4L.
They left it open for people to dump loads of money on it from the aftermarket retailers.
I agree it’s a cool looking rig but it’s a miss for the price.
Im not a ford guy, but i like the truck. Great vid.
They did a ford already, I wish they would do a Ram with Alcoa wheels.
Not a mall queen, but something I could build a 5th wheel trailer for.

I am glad CEN is having decent success with the platform and that Redcat is doing pretty good with the lowrider. It is good for the hobby to have some different vehicles. That red does look killer, now if someone made the polished aluminum rims the 450 comes with stock, that would be awesome.

I mean what are you going to use this truck for? It's just a scale model. Get popular good quality cars. For example I have an xmaxx, Capra, scx24, 1/28 rally car.
I want a bunch of cars, for example I want a e Revo. But I have an xmaxx. Can't justify it. Then driving my xmaxx helps relieve my wants for the e Revo. I'd only pick up a car if I have been wanting one for a long time.

It's an ok truck. It's not 1/10th scale. My other 1/10th scale pickups are bigger than this, wider and taller. This might be 1/14th. Grill and lights are stickers. Body rattles on the posts.

Hello tomley, quite new to the RC world, need advice plse, I bought a brushless ftx vantage it came stock 2 s lipo 3250 mah hardcase, today bought a lipo 3600 mah 11.1 volt 40c, so the question is ( bear in mind I'm new to this) would I see a big difference in power? Im also to mesh the stock pinion back apparently with paper between the cogs, sounds silly but I have to ask as I'm new to all of this

I was concerned because I bought this exact truck and I hooked the battery up to it and cut the controller on everything and it wouldn’t move. I was wondering if you made a video on how to controller to the receiver for this exact truck

The have cool front bumpers and winches n a cool tano cover for the bed on ebay for these I prefer the one on the shelf in background I think dullies are ugly!

Argh! Body clips! I changed the ones on my Quantum Flux to some Arrma ones with the tag, easy pull and they don't ping off into the long grass

Are the axles interchangeable with any other wheels? This is the perfect chassis for a project I'm working on, but I need larger tires.
They are 12mm Hex, so options for changing the wheels. I’ve got Drag Wheels on one of mine (off a DR10)

The only worth it diference are the shocks. Narrower wheels means less rubber to the ground and 30.00$ more ! It would have been better if they wanted to have a more scale look +1 for an Alcoa wheel and tire set that would fit within the fenders. An other brand body would have been great too. Off road beadlock wheel and tire option would have been a good idea since a lot of people are doing it right off the box. For me it look likes they are missing a little bit of imagination.
They also changed the bed liner to more realistic liner and rougher than before being smooth.

Not that i dont like the new 450, but its not what people have been begging CEN to release, we've all been wanting an 8s standard either redone reeper or an entirely new 1/5 8s monster truck but they keep just doing alloy upgrades for the 1/10 solid axle monster trucks or 450s
The F450 is probably one of their best selling rigs… so I guess they are capitalising on that at the moment. I’m hoping to get a Reeper in the next few months… they look really good
@@TomleyRC yeah, theyre pretty good, i have one that im running the 4985 1650kv hobbywing max6 combo in it. Its a beast, just waiting for christmas to come, i snapped a 3m bolt on my rear diff so its came loose and rounded the teeth enough to slip, but its been running more than 6 months with no issues until that happened, its a very strong gearing setup. Helidirect has the 80%roller for 520usd as long as you have the adjustable battery tray you can fit some good 3s batteries or a good 6s, i run dual 6500mah 80c ovonic rebels in mine and still have a little more room. I dont know if youve looked at their parts lists or upgrades but theres quite a bit

@@TomleyRC yip hopefully the springs are soft enough to give that Flexing suspension vibe.
I use Teflon washers between body and body post to reduce scratching of the paint and also rubber o-ringsfor noise reduction, I've also created clear plastic o-rings out of used packaging to keep the clips from scratching and gouging

I definitely like this version better than the first. The wheels on the first were just over the top for me. If they'd do a version of this with remote locking diffs, they'd have my money. If they're going to make it 4WD, might as make it perform. Didn't take much of an obstacle to make that thing diff out. With that super long wheelbase, if you permanently lock the diffs, the turning radius would suffer immensely. Just my opinion....
It isn't supposed to be a hard core crawler, and as long as it they are, locked would make you need a full parking lot to turn around.
They make a diff lock. I can't remember who but it might be QCRC? If not CEN does too I think
