It's true! But being a children's movie, something had to happen that will prevent people from dying, and there was no other option than the octopus to save everyone. hahaha those things have also always bothered me when watching this movie! but it's a children's cartoon... so I understand why it's somewhat incorrect. and yes, I would expect something more epic from the breakup and for at least the funnels to fall... although in the shipwreck in the background, you can see the funnel fallen. and carpathia is horrible, it's what I hate the most xd

This was a reality for passengers on the boats, in real life. Plus, everything was dark, it must have been horrible.
