Nothing can make the remake better but at least they could have made some effort. The original version is an art piece in all forms; be it the set, the costume, the dancers and the remake looks like as if they shot in a garage.
Arijit Singh is the only good thing about this remake version. Weakest links in the recreation are the Music and the Lyrics. Muscially when you compare it to the original, this seems empty as the original version was richer and much more fuller. Cannot say anything about the Lyrics because those are just plain dumb.
Thanks so much for the analysis. It’s true that the song sounds weird because of the musical arrangements. Probably they could have done better if they just kept the chorus tune with a different lyricis altogether and not called it Pasoori but just inspired by the OG.
I did'nt liked it, the original is about expressing the love, coming out and it took if i am not mistaken 10 or 11 years to make this song, though it may sound absurd but ali sethi said it in some interview.. The film version is awful, lyrics changed and they have made it a love song..

Fun fact - Luka Chuppi was a movie that had a whole soundtrack that was remakes. There was Duniya(remake of Khwaab), Photo(remake of Photo), Coca Cola(remake), and as mentioned Laung Elaichi. I really wish they either churned out new songs or had just used the original songs. Hope we get out of this remake era and finaaly get good bollywood music 🤞🏻

Yes, the song is very disjointed. Intro is nice and before the Passori part comes in I liked it and thought this could have been an original song . The lyrics is also running in opposite direction of what the first stanza is. The whole song is just mess.

I think they were desperate to be the ones to get this song in a movie before any1 else did so they ignored all the other aspects. This song doesn't fit the situation in the movie so they butchered the lyrics. Also both pasoori and laung lachi were shoved into storylines that had nothing to do with punjabi culture so they changed the words to hindi & it just took the soul of the song away & made no sense.
