Very wholesome video! One thing I love about our people is just how friendly they are. Watching these videos about Guatemala now that I'm abroad and missing home and craving chiles rellenos 😅
I couldn't agree more - everyone is so kind and welcoming! Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to try chiles rellenos yet - I can't find a restaurant that makes them... I guess the ingredients are out of season so I'll have to come back to give them a try =)

Need longer videos of your experience in Guatemala. 😬 I’m heading there in March with the husband and bro to visit family. I recommend Quetzaltenango and Retalhuleu. Lago de Atitlan is also beautiful.

@@LifeByPeterGreat! I’ll keep an eye on them. I came across your video of Antigua since we’ll be staying there for a few days before heading to Retalhuleu but mom enjoyed them. She liked that you said thank you and were polite. Ha. Not sure if you’ve had them yet but try garnachas and rellenitos de frijol.

Hey Mara! The name is “Empanadas De Paco” and it is in the south east part of Antigua near Santa Ana!
I eat them as snacks throughout the day!!!

@LifeByPeter thanks man. The only thing I have planned is philippines in September. If I have the money saved, I'll try to spend a month in guatemala before philippines. You're younger than me. Look into income investing. I'm buying funds that pay monthly. ( yieldmax, defiance,) risky buy high payout.

Very entertaining video . Antigua is a beautiful colonial city. For the most part, Guatemalans always greet you with a smile .

"Chicken buses" are not called such in Spanish. Though, it does make a cute story.

@@LifeByPeter The word in Spanish is just "camionetas". It would make a very interesting story how these ex-school buses are given a new life in Guatemala as local buses which provide a life-line of very affordable transport for the people.

10:50 I don't know if you are still in Guatemala, but I must tell you that they usually give you 3 or 4 tortillas for every Q1
Tortilla sellers sell 3 or 4 Tortillas for Q1, in all stores in Guatemala
If you want 10 Tortillas, you must ask: "Give me Q3 of tortillas please" and they will give you 9 or 12 Tortillas. You should always ask for the amount of Quetzales
