  • This is a first play with the 165Kw 40 plate wort chiller from The Malt Miller ( www.themaltmiller.co.uk/produ... )
It cooled just over 26L of boiling water down to 20C in 10 minutes.

Cheers mate, I've been debating changing to a plate chiller, but your video pretty much answered everything I wanted. Much appreciated

I've added a few pre-filters just in case of blockage (there's a video about it here somewhere), but of all my brewing kit, the plate chiller is the most stunningly effective!

@@MadeByMartyn you weren't joking, i did my first brew with it tonight, from 90'C to 12'C at 12l per minute from my magnetic pump, granted its winter and im in scotland, but damn impressive, i actually had to heat my wort back up before i pitched the yeast , much appreciated for the video and advise .

@@hmmmnz I'm constantly impressed by it, and now restrict the cooling water flow as that wort is too cold to pitch!

What kind of disconnects are those on the hot side?

They're called 'camlocks'. These ones came from the Malt Miller' in the UK:

You'd better buy a water to air fancoil unit. That way you can cool the wart without wasting water ...

The water isn't wasted. The lot for the test was, but none since.
