It is called Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve. It not only prevents pressure build up in crankcase but also reduces emissions by re-circulating harmful vapors that 'blow-by' the piston during combustion. That's why it is connected to the chamber containing the air-filter element. If you find oil in your ordinary air filter (not fancy stuff like K&N), it means the PCV is clogged and is sucking in oil. It is NOT THE JOB of PCV to lubricate the air filter. Ordinary air filters need no lubrication.
Good explanation. I am using Thunderbird 350 from last 5.5 years. The qlty of RE parts is very poor. Breather pipe cracks very soon from joints. The only option is to change. Good vehicle but unnecessary maintenance cost due to bad qlty and high price of spares. 1-2 trips a month to mechanic due to these repairs. However learned to do many changes by self but for mechanical problems there is no other way.

Bhai Ji, i think there is another breather pipe in RE. Though I am not sure if 350 CC has that or not but in 500 CC, it has. Kya uske baare me thoda idea doge?
Nicely explained. Now the Air filter chamber has oil and some white fluid. What would be the issue, also when I'm riding, the bike is getting off because of this.

Brother it's brither pipe main function is emition control only .by air filter not required lubrication. This fuction used two stroke & 4strock Bike's.and2 fuction ASV use hero& Honda bikes. thanks.I liked your video.
the best use for this pipe is to bend it towards the chain all it does it spew oil into the air box and cause sludge build up doing this will make the chain last longer

Breather transformer mein bhi hota hein, oil hot hone se gases aate hein, jab 3.5 litre oil pura flash point mein burn hua tho hot gaseous aate hein, iska engine chamber bhi itna bada nahi hein us gaseous ko sambal ke exhaust karne ke liye.
मेरी क्लासिक 350 के साइलेंसर से पानी टपक रहा हे क्या एसा हो सकता हे जबकि में अपनी 350 को कभी नहीं धोता और बाइक को 4 महीने ही हुए हे क्या कोई समस्या हे ?

My apache 160 has oil in it's airfilter box.. i found it im every service.. is this a fault ??..
