- Опубліковано 4 жов 2024
- I lost my legs in 2012 to an IED but have not let that stop me from riding motorcycles, dirt bikes and more! It might be unconventional, but it works: This is how I currently ride my 1994 Harley Davidson Fatboy with two prosthetic legs.
If you want to here more about how I lost my legs, you can see that at the link below 🔻🔻🔻

"How to ride a motorcycle with two huge balls"
I might have to put this on some shirts and sell them 😂😂
You can’t see the trailer behind him where his balls sit
*one huge ball. Damn you Taliban.
I’m blessed to be apart of the veteran community. It warms my heart to see a fellow veteran (especially a combat wounded veteran) overcome adversity, never accept defeat and continue doing what he loves. I hope your channel keeps growing!
I appreciate the support! Stay safe! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
RBK myself, so I only understand half of your challenge. Good to see you meeting it head-on. The only mod I had to make to my bagger was a different intake so I could get my foot onto the brake pedal without my socket hitting the breather. I feel fortunate that of all the limbs to lose, RBK is probably the easiest to adapt to motorcycling.
I actually have a funny story about my RBK and kicking my carb and air cleaner off mid ride. I’ll save the story for a video 😂. Glad you’re still up on 2 wheels bro!
Never in my whole life did I ever think I'd see a dude with no legs riding a motorcycle. Honestly, serious props and respect to you for that and thank you for the service. ^D^
Thank you!
and you think you've got problems....
respect to that man
I’ve always been told if there’s a will there’s a way and you damn sure got the will part covered brother. Much love and mad respect ✌️
Necessity is the mother of invention!
Hey there Battle bot I just so happen to have watched your video. I’m a biker and lost my left leg due to accident and until now you have given me courage to keep riding motorcycles thank you brother.
Do it! It might take some figuring out and modification, but you got it!
HD should make an automatic motorcycle for ppl like you and in general. would bring more ppl in
I hope this channel blows up.🤙 (In the good way)
If it blows up like I did it will be huge 😂.
Thanks bro!
Same in North Arkansas. The weather
We go thru spring dogwood winter... Spring again.... The blackberry winter... Then cant breathe.lol great stuff!!!!
You could maybe try a twist-grip shifter with the lever clutch. Old Vespa scooters had them. The whole grip and lever moved together. You pulled the clutch normally then you twist the grip (and lever) to shift.
That’s actually a clever idea🤙
All i can say is hats off to you, sir. Great job. 👍
🤙
Wow, I couldn’t wait to share this video with my daughter. She is also a double amputee and I have a 2011 Honda interstate and my daughter tells me that she wants to ride with me on my motorcycle and I am afraid because if I dump the bike and she gets hurt in anyway, her mom will kill me so to speak and I know that I am probably treating her like a baby, but I don’t know how she would get onto the passenger seat. I guess that I will figure it out, but I applaud your guts to find away to ride in spite of your challenges. 😎
As long as those prosthetics are secure and she has a place to put her feet, as long as you’re okay with the socket dinging something up here or there, nothing should stop her!
Glad you liked the video!
Great video!
Improvise, Overcome, and Adapt.
Yessir! Thanks for watching 🤙
I really liked your web site..I think you are a man after my own heart'...I worked for years to get enough money to buy a harley and finally bought an used 2002 fxd'..and after a few years of working on it..got everything on it replaced with after market parts..I did all my own work in my new jersey garage'..from 88 inch to 95'' flat'top pistons, head'work, {short'block charle} put in chain drive cams 510...six speed-baker,,,cluch fully reworded with easy pull two different ways on the lever and cintrifical clutch plates, different bearing down three..all kinds of stuff I can't go into here'...
Yet my wife and I ended Up homeless'...So I had to sell my sled'...had six different people bidding on it and I got a very good price for it..Yet..even though we have a nice three bedroom one bath home in Vallejo',ca...now Thank God.....I still really miss my harley'..Man'..I had an ajustable ignition that I had a dude in rock'a'way dial it in for me..When I started it Up..she would back fire and not just once..but like twice'...not all the time ..yet'., I had to look around to see If there were any old people close,,POW'Pow..,,like a jack brake in a tunnel'...Anyway...sorry for the long rant'...thanks for your channel..I sub'ed...have a great day'..thanks.
I hope you can get ahold of another bike again soon, man. Or better yet, find your FXD. It sounds like a monster! Glad you’ve found better times recently! 🤙
Well done, mate. That hand shifter idea sounds like a winner.
We’ll see!🤙
Hi, just stumbled upon your channel randomly and I just gotta say - I can't imagine how hard it must suck to lose both your legs and I'm sorry you had to go through that, but man, those robot legs look cool as hell! Greetings from a random netizen from Sweden!
🤙🤙🤙
You could also have a jockey shifter with the clutch lever on the jockey shifter
That’s the plan!
Dude, that's awesome! What a great improvised way to work the bike. Good on ya!
Thanks bro!
Shovel head build video would be dope!
Heck yea man. Just trying to get my ducks in a row for it so I can start filming and building
My first thought was a tank shiftier with the clutch lever on that handle, then you started talking about that too. Just use a piece of handlebar for the shiftier an a regular clutch lever will work. You said the foot clutch was hard to use. Is it set up as an over center rocker pedal, a suicide clutch (push to disengage), or push to engage? I could see the rocker being a problem an a suicide clutch is called that for a reason, but I would think push to engage clutch pedal would work ok. A big floorboard sized pedal you just pick your foot up off of to shift or stop, set it down to go.
Mad respect keep the rubber side down
🤙🤙
hell yeah brother
🤙🤙🤙
We want the shovel build!!!!
Can’t wait to do it for yall!
THANK YOU FOR THE DETAILED INFORMATION! I lost my left leg (AK) 32 years ago on a bike and have been struggling with the shifting issue ever since. I truly appreciated the way you explained how you have found to do it. I am very familiar with the lifting and moving of the prosthetic manually and understand the reasons why you have to do it that way. I didn't realize you could use bluetooth to adjust your settings on your leg till you said that, my current leg has that as well so I'll look into that. I use a tall shift lever on my older atvs and have considered doing that on a bike. Have you tried that? I reach over with my right hand to shift. My big concern is riding in city traffic and not having time to move my hands around, but you seem to handle it just fine. Anyway, I was riveted to the screen as you explained your methods. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain like you did, as a fellow amputee it really meant alot to me.
👊🤙
old school suicide shifter might be something to consider maybe but it looks like you got it going on bro.
This is awesome
Buddy of mine has prosthetic legs and rides, he's always cracking jokes about it and how he don't have to worry about taking a bumper. Yes he has to watch the pipes too, he actually did get hit by a car on a bike is why he has prosthetics.
That sucks he lost them but glad he still rides man. My grandpa lost one on his bike so I like to say amputeeism runs in the fam haha
Interesting 👍
Are you planning to do a walk around of everything you have done to your bike?
Heck yea man. I want this bike to start a ratbike/madmax evolution 🤘
If you're finding it no problem as it is, then continue with it !
🤙🤙🤘🤘
Bad ass
🤙🤙
So do they grow back like a lizards tail orrrrr?
Trying for Deadpool 🤞🏻
@@Battlebotmoto The fact that you answered that clown with some humor speaks to your character. If I'm ever in Asheville I'll buy you a beer. Is this the kind of shifter you were referring to?
ua-cam.com/video/PD3eQshNrHg/v-deo.html
@@pbase36 yes something very similar to that.
Why not put a shift lever and float the gears. Like a gear shifter in a car, but push forward to shift down back to shift up. I've seen them on older bikes before. Or maybe put the clutch on the shift handle. What state are you in?
A clutch on the jockey shift for the chopper build is my plan 🤙
Would a Rekluse clutch work for you? I know of a few riders with nerve damage which makes it so they can't use thier hands but can shift. Look into them, I think they were made here in Idaho
It would but they don’t make a clutch pack for a bike as old as this. I would need to do a conversion which isn’t cheap, but it’s always a route to explore long term for sure. 🤙
About the downshifting, would the prosthetic swing forward if it's suspended while braking? If it does, couldn't a well-timed leg lift get the prosthetic into position to downshift?
Good question. I would have to brake pretty hard to get it this wing forward in that way. This bike is non abs with single disc so hammering on the brakes is a dangerous game to play lol
🤙🤙🇺🇸🫡👋👍
But you ain't got no legs,...is a double negative.. which actually means you have legs. You ain't = you haven't, ... got no,.... legs . So you must have legs. !!! Sorry I got severely berated by my English teacher ( NewZealand) for using double negatives in class !!!
This all may be true. But if Forest Gump says it, then that trumps English law 😂
Well here in America we have the freedom of speech to be as incorrect as we want to be. Sorry your Kiwi teachers are lame 🇺🇸🦅
First of all, thank you for your service. That is too cool that you found a way to keep on doing what you love. Where there is a will, there is a way. Would be pretty cool to see some of that build you are working on. Stay safe riding brother.
Thank you, brother! Where is the fun in life if everything just comes easy? Ha ha.
