- District 1881 in Downtown Chilliwack is a neighborhood characterized by its distinctive historic architecture, pedestrian-friendly alleys, loft-style apartments, unique office spaces, and a vibrant collection of locally owned restaurants, breweries, and retail shops. This combination of elements creates a dynamic urban environment that blends the charm of the past with the conveniences of the present, fostering a strong sense of community and culture within the district.

nice to see some walkable places in BC..
A brilliant idea they have is that if you open a business downstairs you get first dibs plus discount on the housing upstairs. Learned this while talking to construction for-man during a bus trip to see the place and town last year.
Can we get a updated video of district 1881.
I left 11 years ago, boy has it changed. Born in chilliwack and lived there most of my life
should visit back!
Changed sooo much
The opening credit names "Vancouver". This is Chilliwack. A much smaller city 90 minutes drive or 150 km east of Vancouver.
Sorry about that!
Damm thats cool.
I worked for Griffin Security back in 2017. I patrolled the downtown.
Nothing like this was there. It was just needles, sht and homeless.
Just a suggestion, but if you want to explore some genuine downtown Chilliwack architecture and vibe, 'District 1881' is the last place I'd recommend. This is essentially a Disneyesque pastiche of an old town centre, except that old Walt did his much, much better. Most of these buildings are a mishmash of architectural styles, none of which are built to true scale. Their windows are barely inset, only reinforcing the feeling of 'fakeness', and it makes me wonder if the architects have ever seen or set foot in a true heritage building. What is really sad is that the Irwin Block, a true century-old heritage structure, had to be demolished to make way for this attempt at 'amusement park' urban renewal. Unfortunately, Chilliwack has a poor record of heritage preservation as evidenced by its demolition of the nationally recognised Art Deco Paramount Theater just across the street several years back, despite cries for its preservation(it has even been immortalized in an HO scale model kit). What seems to be lacking is any cohesive, comprehensive policy or commitment to preservation other than to "knock it down" if it gets in the way of a new development. Downtown Chilliwack does have some genuinely charming areas, including old city hall(a national historic site and now a museum), and a stretch of Wellington Ave. between Yale Rd. and Main St., which has been used in several film and TV shoots due to its charming small town, 'Main Street USA' vibe. I've lived in Chilliwack for over 20 years, and sadly, the lack of heritage preservation here is truly disheartening!
Thanks for suggesting!
Chilliwack BC
Im in vancouver theres no district 1881 and a yale road
The location is not in Vancouver. It is located in Chilliwack BC.
Took the bus from Vancouver last year looks like it is still growing, I love the area there is so much to see and do besides the local shops: Cultus and Chilliwack lake plus Harrison Hots springs for swimming and fishing plus mountain hiking/biking.
