I am always fascinated by shrines and temples, perhaps because in the Western World we did not grow up with these things around us. I enjoy exploring every nook and cranny so to speak whenever I visit one. Not sure if I have ever visited a shrine where they have a statue of a young man answering the call of mother nature 😂👦💦 Oh wow, isn't that a beautiful sight at 4:01 ? That is one of the reasons that I enjoy visiting shrines, it looks so amazing. You captured some wonderful visual sights, really colorful which is a little bit unusual for a shrine, they normally tend to be quite bland in color. I also see a lot of Sake barrels around the shrine 👹🥃
It was located near Canal City and was a well-managed and clean shrine unique to Japan. There were many tourists and the scale was quite large. I didn't know, but it is said that the sword that Japanese assassins killed Empress Myeongseong (her queen) of Korea in the past is kept there, but it was not on display. This is a shrine with a painful history for Koreans.
